My Home Hotel - Free Parking

The parking was fine. In Europe, particularly inner cities, parking can be a real headache, but they have their own lot, and it wasn't a problem. They have an excellent restaurant, reasonably priced, and the food was wonderful. The room had AC, not a given in Europe, which really made our stay comfortable. Plenty of plugs and charging stations, chairs, a desk and a table, and the cleanliness was immaculate.

The only thing I didn't like was accessibility of the hotel itself. The streets in the area are a nightmare, and the place is super hard to get into and out of. If you make a wrong turn, you're looking at miles of U-turns and maneuvering to get another crack at it. It really inhibited the desire to go find a restaurant.

If you want to stay near Zurich during your trip , you can't find better place. 20 minutes by car to Zurich city center, without traffic, beautiful and large room, great parking, easy access to the highway, clean. It was definitely above our expectations. Even if you want to stay in Zurich for longer - you can consider this place as it has really great access to city center and you pay much less than there, with having great accommodation. It is "just" a hotel - so if you are looking for fancy features, pools, great lobby bar etc - then look somewhere else, but if you need to sleep well, with fantastic conditions - then you have found your place :)

absolutely nothing to complain about

I had booked an economy room and was offered to upgrade to an executive room for a very small fee. If you are in doubt, book the executive room, unless you are a single traveller who doesn't need much space. The room was incredibly spacious and very well equipped and staff were very friendly. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was the free parking available, which is just behind the hotel. Breakfast was very nice, a good selection of local produce (swiss cheeees were fantastic! :) ) and the welcome was very friendly and attentive. Be aware that the hotel is a bit of a walk into the town centre, where all the restaurants and shops are located. There is a very regular bus service which runs into the town centre. I wasn't sure whether tickets could be bought by card (I didn't have any Swiss Francs), so we walked. After a day spent in the car the walk was a pleasant change!

Location is not bad with less than 30 mins walk to city center. Parking is great and there is also a covered garage available. Room is clean and breakfast is great. Since the owners are Nepalis, we tried their Nepalese food for dinner and they were really delicious. Just the curry portion was a bit small and quite pricey.

Pillows are really soft, not really comfortable to sleep. Also upon checkout, we needed to pay for the dinner and breakfast. The owner did not print out the detailed invoice and asked us to pay the full amount. Without knowing how much they charged us for the food, we realized that he overcharged our twins for the breakfast. Even though he refunded us the money, it is already a negative point for us.

Nice and new building. Convenient location with supermarkets a short walk away. Fridge in room and free parking.

Aircon in our room was not working on a 37 degree day 🥵. The guy at the desk was very helpful and did everything he could to get it working but nothing worked. He eventually gave us another room and allowed us to keep the key to the original room so we didn’t have to move all our stuff. Aircon worked well in the new room.

It's a decent budget room, expectation management is crucial. These rooms are exceptionally small for two people. But the AC was working great. You just have to account for the bus fare price which is 3chf for adults in one direction. Otherwise, the location makes sense for a budget stay with more than 3 stars

I've learned to appreciate cleanliness in Hotels over the years, and while I don't nitpick over some webbing in corners, I don't like seeing hair in the shower.

The staff was very kind and very willing to help out with any of my requests. Room was vey clean.

The room was located in the ground floor, next to the parking area. There weren't any window shutters or anything the like which created a slight feeling of discomfort in terms of light presence, noise and security feeling.

The hotel owners were absolutely brilliant and so welcoming. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The hotel is conveniently located near Zurich and the Eastern part of Switzerland. We based ourselves at My Home Hotel so that we were within 30 mins drive from the places we wanted to visit (Rhine falls, Stein an Rhein and St Gallen). The hotel has a restaurant on site to cater for its guests, they have an à la carte menu but we would strongly recommend to ask the owner for a Nepalese dish. We had a chicken curry on the first night and lamb on the second with rice, veg and soup and both were delicious. The breakfast buffet is also very good. Our room was spacious and modern, it looked as if it had been refurbished recently as all was clean and modern. Despite the current covid restrictions, we had a very pleasant stay and are thinking to return there soon. We travelled there with 2 children of 11 and 9.

Amazing hotal, very friendly people at the front desk especially Pantha Very clean hotel and smelt beautiful, the room was big and the bathroom was so lovely. Close to Lake Zurich in the car. Definitely will book here when we come again
