Grand Hotel du Lac - Relais & Châteaux

Lovely bar staff and great concierge/lobby staff taking care of the luggage and cars! The décor and smell was lovely and we loved the location and environment. Very comfortable rooms.

A few things were missing or not located properly. The full length mirror was stuck behind the side table. There was a hairdryer missing. The room service menu after 10 is very limited and the pizza felt like a store brought frozen one.

For people with small morning appetites, the buffet was expensive. That said , your staff is impressive: welcoming, of great service, and the décor inside and out makes the price acceptable. Your location is outstanding and the views from the sea-side balconies is a view for the «movies». I don't know how many photos I took. The outside front bar under the canapés and trees was just a splendid relaxing time. Your purple and white flowers were gorgeous, and all the other well kept greenery was to be remarked. I particularly love the pool with it's power jet to encourage strong swimming techniques. The lake front and towns close by were wonderful to visit. Absolutely memorable visit.

The pool closed a bit too early , specially with the canicule temperatures.

this is a beautiful and comfy hotel with a lovely garden for drinks or meals. Beyond the usual amenaties at a 5 star hotel like great beds, beautiful room, we loved the attention to detail such as: chocolate welcome gift, daily water, light dimmer in the bathroom so it can be soothing at night (my own bugbear), a heated mirror in the bathroom that gave a small clear square after showering. we chose a balcony room facing the lake, on the second floor. stunning views!

i wish there were a gym because i do like to work out.

Stunning location and elegant hotel.

We asked to sit on the terrace in the evening. The barman said he was closing and had to take the cushions from our chairs. He left the cushions on all the other chairs for another hour so was just trying to make us uncomfortable!

It is a Beautiful mid 19th Century building - beautifully renovated Right on the lake Exquisite A 5 star hotel Gourmet dining and gourmet breakfast in lovely setting And Expensive!

My reading glasses mysteriously disappeared from the bedside table while we visited the Chateau of Chillon Not in our luggage Hotel took no responsibility Also I took a cup of tea down stairs to enjoy there and left it Asked that it be replaced in the room It wasn’t

Location; it’s comfort; interior design, view from my room!

Spa was average to below average Some of the staff were not helpful nor pleasant (those in the restaurant) Difficult to get a dinner reservation

The service was exceptional at every interaction, from checking in to checking out. Breakfast was well organised and the coffee was great. Enjoyed the thoughtful design of the Turkish style lounge and the bar was well stocked!

I can't think of any thing that could be improved, maybe better soundproofing on the internal doors?

My wife and I felt privileged the way we were treated by the staff. Room was wonderful - spacious with all facilities, coffee machine, minibar and the friendly staff were doing up the room beautifully twice daily. Food was delicious and drinks were awesome. We stayed there 5 years back and enjoyed thoroughly - probably this time was even better. Buddha bar is a new addition (probably two years back) and works perfectly in the setting. A treatment at Valmont spa is a strong recommendation. If you want to get pampered and do not mind spending a bit, this is the place - more than value for money

Though the room was very spacious, a slightly larger bathroom-toilet would have been ideal. But no complaint as it was clean, tastefully designed and spic and span

The Bar and the dinning area is frankly run by Mr Bean ( Nilolo ) . His attitude is superior and he shouldn’t be working in a 5 star hotel . He needs to be retrained . There are younger members of staff that are and would do a better job . I don’t think he knows what customer service is .

Food !

It is a dream-like hotel! And breakfast is superb.

Closing the Bar at 9 pm is not acceptable, especially when the restaurant is closed. You cannot expect everybody to go to their room and order room service, one wants to enjoy the hotel facilities. Otherwise it is bed and breakfast.
