Hôtel de Chailly

From check-in to check-out, it was such a pleasant and smooth stay! The gentleman who welcomed us (I'm guessing he is the owner) was very polite and enthusiastic and proactive! His English was very good and he was just very helpful. Because he saw that I had two young children with me, he upgraded me to a slightly bigger room. And as I had a huge and heavy luggage, he gave me a room on the second floor which didn't require me to lug my luggage up a flight of stairs to the third floor. Very helpful! He was also very insistent on looking for a room with 3 single beds for me as I was 1 adult and 2 kids but we were fine with the 2 single beds pushed together. The room was slightly on the small side but it was very clean (a bit dark) but all was in good order. The bathroom was very clean and I think it was recently renovated? Modern, white and bright! Water pressure was very good. Breakfast was good!The lady there working all by herself and with limited English was super passionate and speedy in her tasks. I couldn't thank her enough for taking good care of us. The variety being offered was also good! Especially for a 3 star property. Everything was clean and hygienic. I was at another property which claimed to be 3 star plus but the breakfast wasn't as good! We also had one meal at the restaurant. My son enjoyed the burger. Prices were also reasonable for costly Switzerland! Upon check-in we got tourist cards which gave us access to the public transportation and half price off some of the tourist attractions in the area like Chaplin's World and Chillon Castle. Traveling to and fro the hotel and nearby towns like Vevey and Montreaux was very easy. Once again, gentlemen at reception explained it clearly and gave us maps. Location wise, yes it's a bit of a distance from attractions but with the above tourist card, it was fine. Good to be hopping on the bus to do some sightseeing.

We got a room facing the road. So it was a bit loud with the speeding traffic. But once windows were closed, it was good soundproofing. There was a fan in the room so that kept us cool throughout the night. Although it would have been so nice to let in the cool night air as we were lucky we were there when it was not so hot.

Philip is a fantastic hotel owner and host. So is the team there... the chef, service staff all excellent. They made fantastic veg cuisine for us everyday and made our day with the last meal of the day after a long busy day in Montreux. Breakfast was great too. Everything perfect about the hotel. Clean, spacious, airy rooms & comfortable bed. Will definitely consider staying here again. It is a little far from the main street and station but with precise swiss transportation 15 mins travel was hardly an issue. Infact we liked the fact that it was a little away from downtown.

Very clean hotel with reachable staff. The room had a nice view towards the lake and vineyard. Bed was comfy and bathroom looked modern. Breakfast was good, served with delicious breads and small coffee pods. We did not have chance to use the restaurant for dinner unfortunately but it seemed nice.

The location is a bit far from the Montreux station. There's another train station but you still have to walk for 20-25 mins. There's a bus taking you to both stations but you might think twice when you have big suitcases.

The staff was amazing. The young lady who checked us in was so very helpful. She was maybe the only one who could speak much English. She was also there the next morning! The restaurant has excellent food. And breakfast was free with the room, which hasn't been the norm for us on this trip to Europe.

The hotel is very nice and clean! The Lady at the reception was very friendly, next day it was man and he also was very helpful and polite. we really like the place is calm and chill. Me and my son spent here 1 night and we like it. They also gave us a free Bus ticket to Montreux Jazz Festival which is nice! Breakfast was included, for us it was good, croissants and cheese, juice, coffee.. We liked it 😊 Recommend this hotel :)

very nice and right in the bus route to town 10 minutes away hotel gave us passes so didn’t have to pay on the buses which saved us 50 francs a day

Beds should have thin blanket as night got very hot- fan in room were useful

I really like that there is a parking place which made everything convenient. The hotel is 1 bus away from the main city and is not a problem at all. On top of that, the staffs are really nice and even offered preparing something for my boyfriend's birthday surprise. We are really happy with our stay and couldn't ask for more.

The lift is not working smoothly.

The restaurant service was really nice, and the diferent options during the breakfast was perfect.

The room doesn't have air conditioner, just a fan, so during the time we stayed there the room wasn't cool at all.

The staff was absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond to help me and were incredibly friendly the entire time. I couldn't have asked for better service!
