Talalla Retreat

Talalla Retreat was fantastic. The highlight for me was the yoga at the Resort. The studio is right next to the sea. You can listen to the waves while practicing yoga. The yoga instructors were sensational. They gave me a unique yoga experience. I discovered Yin Yoga for the first time, which allowed me to sleep better than I ever have. I felt like I was in a safe and calming environment with really good people around me. The beach next to the Resort was really quiet. Fantastic for a long walk and some peace. The room was fantastic. I loved how it was completely open to the outside so you can hear the crickets at night. Make sure you spray your room before you leave to get rid of Mosquitos. The outdoor shower was heaven. A fantastic way to end the day after a day by the ocean! All the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. We found a lovely local restaurant nearby with amazing food called Sunshine Beach Restaurant.

The staff are fantastic here, really friendly, welcoming and kind. Attentive but also giving people space when they want it. Lovely relaxed retreat vibe and the ocean front access to beautiful Talalla Bay beach is wonderful. I enjoyed swimming across the bay every day (though this is not for everyone as waves can be quite strong). Great yoga spaces and teachers. Abundant buffet and tasty a la carte options. I could say more about how great the staff are: management, waiters, cooks, cleaners, spa therapists: all excellent!

I struggle to say anything I didn't like. A couple of enhancements could be to have chilled coconuts available at the restaurant and a greater variety of fruits. But coconuts and the range of fruit are already good!

a beautiful retreat. Super spacious. The pool was fabulous. Definitely somewhere to come and completely relax!

the only thing I would say which is probably part of the experience - I was in an upstairs room and while I love the outdoor concept, if you’re not a real heavy sleeper you might have some issues with sleep as you really do hear everything!

We loved the stunning location right at the beach, Talalla’s truly amazing (friendly & helpful) staff and a wonderful Spa as well as Yoga offering. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home and relaxed. Talalla has wonderful and highly skilled yoga instructors (we didn’t try the surf but I assume they’re awesome, too). Daily cleaning of rooms, mosquito nets & repellent was really appreciated as the place is really within nature and thus of course mozzies are inevitable. Quality of food and drinks was very good, if you do not mind a buffet.

During our stay there was one large group (30 or more people) doing a retreat. The group was quite noisy just by virtue of being a lot of people. Hope Talalla will focus on smaller groups again as it affected the relaxed vibe of the otherwise amazing & paradise-like place.

The location is incredible the beach in front of the property is stunning and is being kept clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely. We had food at the property and it was very tasty and great quantity wise.

The rooms without A/C were swarming with mosquitoes (although there are many things provided to protect yourself, they somehow managed to get inside the bed. However, the staff immediately changed our rooms (upon availability) to a room with A/C. The price point for the hotel is a bit high for what you get (basic room and amenities). However the stay was very pleasant.

Beautiful location on the beach. Individual bamboo huts and air con rooms . Tried both and each has its benefits. Huts are quite open and attract jungle visitors as expected but all part of the experience, just be sure to take precautions against mosi’s. Beds were very comfortable and both huts and rooms have a comfy outdoor seating area. Food was good (buffet style) but maybe an occasional BBQ would have added some variety. Staff are very attentive and reception staff were helpful. Easy to get a Tuk-Tuk just outside the main gate. A few restaurants within walking distance. Sun beds were a bit short on a couple of days. There is an overall chilled vibe which is extremely relaxing. Would recommend.

The restaurant serves great options for a healthy lunch! Also the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool is very calming and nice, and at the seaside it is always windy which makes it a great place to relax on a sunchair.

I think the room is quite open. Which is the concept of the hotel of course, but the downside is that you need to be very aware to keep possible mosquito's out and that every noise of a room nearby is hearable. There is no airco ( which I knew before I booked), but that is good to realize. I loved to hang out at the beach garden area but I also noticed that cleaning that area of the hotel could be better. I saw a used diper on the grass for quite some time, which should be seen by the staff.

Tallala Retreat is set in beautifully maintained, extensive grounds stretching down to a stunning beach. With accommodation to suit all budgets, the resort provides wonderful facilities (especially yoga), for anyone seeking a quiet and relaxing break away from the hurly burly of modern day life. With a restaurant that serves up delicious and varied food, there is a strong temptation to never venture off site for the whole of your stay.

The staff is absolutely incredible - kind, attentive, open. They can provide everything you need. They helped congratulate my bf with birthday and made a cake. And even fixed my broken bag 😱 the staff is just a role model! Amazing. the garden with a swimming pool is cozy and quiet, a wonderful yoga spot. The food and prices in the restaurant are pleasant. Recommend this place 👍

The mosquito nets over the bed didn't help, it was hard to sleep. I had to overdouse myrself with mosquito spray, but you can find the spray at the reception even at night.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. All of our extra request such as organising transfers were met with ease. I loved having the drop in yoga classes and the food was fresh and delicious. We stayed in the open sided deluxe rooms which I really enjoyed. You wake up in the early morning to the sounds of the jungle and the monks from the local temple chanting.

I had an excellent massage from the young male masseuse in the spa but I thought that the physical appearance of the spa needs attention.
