Ananya Beach Resort

This hotel is fantastic. The location is right by a long, beautiful, and unexploited beach. The rooms were top-notch, and it was the cleanest accommodation we stayed at during our one-month trip to Sri Lanka. The staff is very helpful, the food is good, and the beachside sunbeds are wonderful. We fell asleep listening to the waves from the sea. This is an excellent place for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation in an incredibly beautiful environment.

Don't worry about the small gravel road in the last few minutes there. Some potholes and a bit challenging for a nicer car to navigate, BUT it's worth it!

This accommodation was a surprise as it is way more beautiful that it looks on the photos. There is the feeling of a luxury boutique hotel, they have few rooms, and it feels private. The room we had was on the last floor, with ocean view and it was breathtaking. The room is very big with comfortable bed, very specious balcony. The personnel also very nice. The beach is very beautiful and you can take big walks and see few people. Definitely it was one of the most beautiful accommodation we ever had.

They are saying that the hotel provides spa services. Which is not true, they collaborate with a spa nearby. The spa does not doesnt go justice to the hotel. It looks like a very cheap place with very high prices. I had the most expensive massage here from my entire trip to Sri Lanka. I dont recommend using this spa. I was very disappointed.

I’ve been to many places, including the most luxurious the world has to offer, but this place beats it all. The place is totally secluded, so you can walk along the beautiful wild beach for an hour and you won’t pass a single person. Everything, including garden, top notch infinity pool, room, and common areas is spotlessly clean. The guys serving the food and cleaning the rooms are super courteous and aware of the customers service. We’ve spent amazing holidays in this beautiful place. Initially we intended to combine the visit with safari, bird watching etc, but Ananya Beach Resort was so perfect we just chilled there for 12 days. Thumbs up guys and keep up the wonderful work.

Facilities were perfect, pool is ideal with nice and natural shade and beautiful view over the beach as you watch and listen to the waves crashign in. Right on the beach with beautiful ocean view rooms. Staff were very friendly and attentive, food was incredible, cocktails spot on. Very spacious room, balcony and bathroom. We loved our stay here, it is a fairly secluded location which we didn't expect. Spa can be accessed from a short free tuk tuk ride about 500m up the road organised through the hotel. Make sure you order the Sri Lankan breakfast, it is delicious. Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, just not the best place to swim in the ocean. Note this time we stayed the road lake flooded one of the most direct roads in so it was dug up and inaccessible so the driver had to back track or we could walk. It is about 16kms south of Tangalle.

One of the best!!! The rooms, pool, common areas, and dining area were sparkling clean. The setup was very simple and neat. The beach was clean too. The room and the bathroom were very spacious and filled with natural light. We loved the beach view and it was so calming. You will hear nothing but the ocean waves. The staff was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. Friendly and professional. Our steward was Buddhika and he was really nice and polite. Food was really good and reasonable too. Nice portion size and very tasty. We also used their laundry service and it was good too. Overall we loved the experience there. Totally recommended ❤️

We chose the partial sea view room and it was so beautiful!! We had a huge terrace facing a palm tree forest, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was very big. The food from the hotel’s restaurant is very good, no need to go outside for this. The wi-fi works well, the staff very friendly.

The water pressure at the shower was quite low and in the reception area the sofas were a bit smelly due to humidity.

The staff was really kind and attentive and with big smiles. The view was perfect from the room and from the pool. The food was nice (breakfest lunch and dinner) and the prices more than reasonable.

The hotel is located in the far end of a 20 min ride in a dirt road which was flooded when we got there (wasnt mentioned by the hotel). They sent a tuktuk to pick us up when our cab driver couldn't move forward. But the hotel didnt have a tuktuk of their own and had to call the driver from the city so it was not comfortable to leave the hotel at all.

We recently stayed at Ananya Resort in Sri Lanka and had a fantastic experience. The staff at the resort were exceptional, providing us with friendly and helpful service throughout our stay. The room was comfortable and the setting was absolutely beautiful, with a private beach and stunning views of the coast. We loved the delicious and varied food at the restaurant, especially the local Sri Lankan breakfast options that my husband enjoyed trying. The pool was perfect for relaxing, and the sun loungers at the beach provided the perfect spot to soak up some sun and enjoy the ocean breeze. Overall, we highly recommend Ananya Resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and peaceful getaway in Sri Lanka. The resort exceeded all of our expectations and we cannot wait to return again in the future.

The resort is located a bit far from Tangalle, which adds to the tranquility of the location, but it can also restrict your movements and options for dining outside the resort.

Everything! Effortless service, large, airy and clean rooms, good and reasonably priced food, fabulous pool and amazing beach. What’s not to like? Even when the hotel is full (which it invariably is but no surprise there) it still feels tranquil and spacious.

Bad mosquitos and unfortunately a three day infestation of red beetles attacking the local coconut plantations. A biblical plague!
