Condado Vanderbilt Hotel

Beautiful hotel, next to the beach, mins away from Old San Juan and minutes away from La Placita de Santuce and many outdoor restaurants outside of the hotel strip. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.

The staff is extremely friendly. The valet workers are the nicest ever. The property was very clean and if something wasn’t right, they did their best to make it right. For example after a glitch with the a/c so they had us change rooms. It’s in the heart of Condado.

Loved everything but something to keep in mind is yes, it’s on the beach, oceanfront. However do not plan to swim there. It’s on a very rocky area where the water is very rough. It’s scenic and gorgeous, but you won’t be swimming there. Pool area is very pretty, comfortable and with great views. Another suggestion: the rooms need mirrors. We were a family of 4. So while everyone is taking turns showering, the other people can’t move on doing hair, makeup, etc. They have to wait until the next person is out of the shower. If there was a wall mirror, preferably a full length wall mirror it would be much more convenient and speed up getting ready for dinner, etc. Easy fix to improve the stay for guests sharing a room.

The staff for the most part was great had a little trouble at check in but it was rectified. The manager apologized and comped me with a free bottle of Champagne, and $150 for anything on the premises or excursions, booked at the hotel

The receptionist at the front Lobby not looking up my reservation correctly and telling me it was canceled 15 days ago. When there is another reservation with the same last name same dates of my stay and matching credits card numbers. I was on the phone with booking.com reps for 2 hours before I was shown to my room. After the manager finding the correct reservation. Ohh and Booking.com your not of the hook either. Your service representatives need to take down the names of the people they speak with. So that person can be contacted directly and they can rectify the situation faster. By saying I spoke with someone in guest services is very vague when dealing with a major hotel. That can have a huge staff.

Check in upon reaching the hotel was not smooth. I was told that our rooms would be on the 12th floor , then when they called us that my room was ready, they now tell me that my room is on the 4th floor. I let the women know that we were told the room was to be on the 12th floor and she said I would have to wait longer, I informed her I would wait. She was not happy and rude in her comment back to me. The rest of the staff we encountered on our stay were great, they smiled and were very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

The place is exactly what you would expect. It is perfect in every way. Only downside was leaving.

Only issue at all was the placement of the in-room safe. While very nice it was not placed flush on the shelf leaving a small (4 inch gap) along the back side. Items would tend to disappear in this gap during out stay. Once you found it you knew to look but there was a moment of panic when we couldn't find our car keys the first time we lost something there.

The staff was great.

The bed cover was dirty when we arrived rm 908, Our room was not really cleaned, bed was never made up while we were there. House keeping did give us fresh towels but nothing else

Great location. Reasonable cost of taxis to Old San Juan.

Beware of scanning menus. I was hacked, so I had to close my account, but used the digital wallet wherever it was accepted. Keep your receipts to dispute transactions.

This was our second time staying at Condado Vanderbilt. This year we celebrated my daughter’s sweet 16th birthday. The butler services by Alan and Amanda can provide decorations for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. I contacted the duo and informed them of my interest in the service. On the day of her birthday they came to the room while we were out and went all out with the decorations. It was absolutely beautiful, well thought out and just incredibly done. The location, amenities, and the views alone are a huge draw to this resort but the staff, absolutely attentive, pleasant and extremely welcoming. Whenever I go back to the island I will be staying there. I really couldn’t have asked for a better vacationing experience.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and has a great location. The room was very clean and we slept very well. The hotel is definitely worth it's price. If we ever go back to Puerto Rico, we would stay here again.

The hotel does not have direct beach access; however, there is a beach next door. Although there are restaurants, it is not possible to dine outside which is important during Covid. We had a rental car and Valet was the only option to park the car.
