Mercure Gdynia Centrum

Firstly, the location is excellent. On one side is the promenade and on another is the shipping dock area. Secondly, the staff and facilities are fantastic! It was a friend's birthday and I made a last minute request for balloons and cake and though I had no expectations, they still managed to keep a balloon and pastries with a personal letter from the management. They even upgraded us to a sea view! Fabulous service. every staff member spoke kindly. My friend was in need of a break and we could not have asked for a nicer place.

Perhaps the only thing was the pool is for both hotel and outsiders and therefore not the kind where you take a bed and just chill by the pool. Its more for swimming and exercising. So not for me :)

The room was clean and very comfortable, the mattress was really comfy and the linen crisp and well laundered. Room in a quiet location, we slept very well. Ideally located for town and the beach. The breakfast we really enjoyed and had a wonderful choice of food and beverages.

the restaurant food in the evening was a little disappointing. I had the fish and this arrived only luke warm and the chips were the same. Could have been better. However the gentleman taking our orders was very friendly and helpful with our drinks choices.

The hotel has a great location in Central Gdynia. Rooms are modernized at various times I guess, as one of the two we had seemed slightly newer, but both were fine. The sea view is spectacular. One of the great things is that windows open. Not all the way, just slightly, but they do. Uncommon on higher floors in hotels, but great, you can let the see breeze in. The reception seems usually to be swift and efficient, but had somewhat of a crisis at 3 o’clock on Saturday as in tons of people came at once, and not all the guests were pleasant about a few minute wait, we were impressed by how receptionist Filip handled the situation, hospitality industry at it’s best.

The buffet breakfast was okay. The hotel could definitely afford buying an additional waffle machine and have more variety of foods (after a several day stay it becomes repetitive). The sea view rooms have a clear and lovely sea view.

The swimming is not the best. It functions more as a sports club for the city than a hotel pool. It’s not a recreational swimming pool, but one for lap swimming, people from the outside have access to it and it can be crowded. The elevators are too small for the high season. During breakfast rush time you have to wait several minutes to go up or down from your room. The bathtubs are super high and I would say even dangerous for older people.

Fantastic location, lovely hotel with good facilities. Staff were fantastic.

Pool is used for swim schools and other non hotel activities. There should be a schedule available so the guests know when those take place and a section of pool reserved for those activities. When we were there various activities were taking in different parts of the pool and we as paid guests felt like we were interrupting and were an unwelcome annoyance. Also sauna should not be coeducational, by the afternoon it was full of naked men. I was there with two children and we were obviously very uncomfortable and didn't use the facility.

Privilege room on a 10th floor was an excellent choice, definitely worth spending a little bit more. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Swimming pool is massive and a huge bonus. Great neighborhood! All in all definitelly worth recommending and visiting again.

I didnt like the pillows and should have asked for different ones. They are too firm and too thick and because of that I had some trouble sleeping.

What we especially appreciated was breakfast. First of all, the hotel management and staff carefully considered covid-19 measures - on arrival in the restaurant guests were offered a disinfectant, plastic gloves and were required to wear protective masks all the time while they were moving around the area. The buffet breakfast was more than substantial, there was, e.g., a choice of three or four sorts of smoked pork sausages, fried, scrambled, and boiled eggs, an abundance of pastries, fruit, vegs, and, what we liked best, pickled herrings and other fishes. Besides, the hotel is conveniently located within a walking distance from the port.

the location is so beautiful but the top floor are really old ! I love the hotel as is in the city center! but not a great quality! the building is old!

on the lobby is just amazing but you could smell the old building smell!

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location - 5 minutes to the beach, next door to the cinema & theatre. Good connections to Sopot & Gdansk on the local train. Shops, restaurants & bars close by.

A well presented clean hotel at a reasonable cost.

I stayed already many times in the Mercure Hotel in Gdynia, it was quite busy now because it was a long weekend with public holiday. The restaurant has good food, the breakfast is nice and has lots to choose from. Personnel is kind and helpful.
