Bastion Hotel Den Haag Rijswijk

Room size is decent as we got upgraded to deluxe room. Room is equipped with Nespresso coffee machine, perfect for coffee lover. However kettle was not there, probably need to request if required. Plenty of car park for hotel guest, but the gate bell position is awkward, most of the time we need to get out of our car to press the gate bell.

A kettle in the room will be appreciated, and a better parking entry gate bell positioning. Room service or house keeping could be slow and has a room to improve. Not much of convenience store around, nearest ones probably 15 minutes walking distance.

Our room was clean and quiet, but another family members room unfortunately not. AC was too noisy, Most probably broken and it was hard to sleep because of the noise. As we arrived in the night, it took a time until someone let us in. Receptionist told there is a free space on the hotel parking, but it wasn’t, so we just waist our by driving back and forward to the parking and finished on the street parking space. There was no bottled water in the room, breakfast is pretty expensive (about 18.- Eur/person) and only 3 power outlets in the room, one of them in the bathroom. The coffee maker in the room is so small and plastic that it’s an art to get a coffee from there :)

Main stuff, in the day time, was kind and responsive. Parking area around the hotel is free of charge. Location is good - 15 mins from The Hague. Rooms and bass are clean and cleaned properly every day.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Staff were helpful and polite. Dinner was very tasty.

I saw a cockroach in the stair well. Several cars parked illegally and blocked the exit inside the fenced parking, and the staff was unable to help me get my car out despite the sign that says that cars parked illegally will be towed. I would expect that the hotel have a procedure in place to have these cars removed to allow others to get out. It was disappointing that they have no gluten free options. I'm celiac and cannot eat any gluten at all. This is not uncommon so really it should be catered to. When you have a limited dinner menu, it's also important that you have all the options available. We were disappointed to not be able to order our choices.

Semi-secure free parking on-site. Restaurant on-site. Bright room with nice view over grassy gracht even though mostly a business zone. Cheerful and friendly staff. Proximity of excellent No 17 tram line right into Den Haag and to the museum we were going to. Breakfast on site though at extra cost - not cheap but welcome! Quiet in room - comfortable bed.

Very slight smell of drainage in bathroom. Breakfast just a little expensive but good. Everything else was very good.

The room was nice and cool in the summer heat. (There was a cold draft at night, which shouldn't have mattered except for the bedclothes, see next question.) The shower dried quickly after use due to good ventilation. There was hand sanitizer available in the lobby.

The beds seem to be made for really short people! The bedclothes are tucked in tight at the bottom and the eiderdown only reached halfway up my chest. The first night, I left it that way and, due to the cold draft at night, felt a cold coming on. After that, I just pulled the eiderdown free every night so I could pull it up to my chin.

I spent 4 nights here and extended this day too...i found an exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff, namely Mr. "Sameer" i would recommend to visit this place to just have him as a host!. My room was super clean & comfortable, with a nice view and very well prepared. Breakfast with a decent variety of food i enjoyed every day. Free private parking & in few minutes with car you are in den Haag.

We stayed in a room with own bathroom. Rooms are cleaned every day, what I appreciate much. There are free towels, shampoo, soap and coffee. Room is also equipped in a fridge and TV. Beds are good with comfortable mattresses.

Unfortunatelly the location is not the best. The hotel is located 20 minutes by tram to city center and another 20 minutes by tram to the seaside. In fact it is in the middle of nowhere, somewhere between The Hague center and Delft. The hotel is also quite pricey.

The location was good, parking was good but I came at late night it was full, I had to park outside on street.

The receptionist was out of desk and I wait for her almost 30 minutes. the doors going to the rooms at the gang was ridiculous, you must open them with badge and you get only 1 badge, if you go outside and your family is in the room you cant take the badge every time you must call your family to open the gang.

Good location with secure parkin and nearby public transport. Very comfortable, clean and modern. Lovely breakfast.

A small point to note - the restaurant is not open for dinner every night. But there are places to eat at a nearby shopping centre or the bowling alley. The hotel is non smoking but guests on our floor smoked in their room (or the corridor) and it travelled throughout. We reported it and staff were receptive but I don't know what action was taken.

Good location with easy acces and free parking ( this is rare in Nederland)

Noisy room with fix window (was fixed with screw bolts) so no posibility to take fresh air but a generous space between the frame and the window fix the fresh air problem. After 2 days they took the towels left on the floor to change but did not bring more.
