Ulisse Deluxe Hostel

Great hotel in a beautiful location, close to the centre without being too noisy or chaotic - close to marina grande and an easy walk to the ferry’s you can get to Capri etc, and to the beach clubs on the water. Room was spacious and clean with a nice full bathroom and good natural light in the mornings.

It wasn’t super cheap, however it was one of the lower coast accommodation options considering we didn’t book too far in advance for peak summer season

The location is not that bad, located at the end of Corso Italia which is the main street and 17 min walking from the train station, 15 min walking from marina piccola, breakfast is more a hotel buffet breakfast than a hostel so it's worth it.

The fact of having to put the door card on the wall to be able to use the lamps and electrical outlets to charge your phone, then if you wanted the AC to work the card had to be out, so it's either you charge your phone at night or you sleep with the AC, being in a room with 5 other people we all needed to charge our phones and the room was hot, because it was summer so that wasn't pleasant while sleeping.

The hostel looks like a typical hotel. It really big and clean. It seens in the past it was a really great hotel, but now they are milking what is left. Staff really helps you to book everything you need and they also help you whatever you need. Room was impressive big. Bed was confortable.

I looked in the internet and the breakfast did not looked amazing, so decided to buy it on demand. It cost 10 Euros and does not worth it. Leave the hotel walks 4-5 minutes and you will have option to take a good coffee in a cafeteria, have a croissant and pay something like 4-6 Euros. The furniture in the room is old (in great shape) but old.

On 1st night we arrived late due to travelling a long way and were given a room in the bottom level which was dark and not very nice. We requested a room on the upper level. Staff were very accepting and able to accommodate our request for the 2nd night. Room was much better with windows that you could actually look outside from. Room was large and much more comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a really good variety of eggs, bacon, ham as well as cold cuts. Very nice and open breakfast facility. Location of hotel is very close to the main streets of Sorrento and easy walking distance to all areas. Met all of expectations after initial disappointment of that 1st night room.

This property is well located. a short walk in either direction will either take you to a small marina where several restaurants are located, or the heart of downtown Sorrento. The property itself, while not luxurious, is spacious and clean with helpful staff. as others have mentioned, this is really more like a three star hotel than a hostel. Although this was our first time staying in a ‘hostel’, I can say with confidence the only thing this place has in common with most of them is it allows for multiple people to sleep in one room.

The breakfast, while plentiful, was not good. The pastries were stale and the eggs, when available, were cold. We are not big breakfast eaters so it wasn’t a deal breaker, but nevertheless we ended up going elsewhere when we wanted breakfast. (The English pub is a good choice if you want traditional eggs and sausage). The bathroom had this odd half glass partition on the tub, and it was almost impossible to take a shower without getting the floor wet, which makes for a dangerous situation.

Booked a bed for four nights in shared room with 6 beds and no window but I was assigned a bed in a room with 3 beds. It had a window, was quiet, clean, big bathroom, fridge, safe box, cleaned every day, change of towels daily, breakfast was buffet with a big choice. I loved the freshly baked cakes. Staff at reception friendly, helpful and recommend good restaurants and also offer tours. I would stay there again.

I don't think there's anything that I didn't like

Fantastic central location. This property makes Sorrento accessible to backpackers via its hostel option. It isn’t set up well for a hostel - eg no lockers or privacy curtains or charging points BUT comfy beds, showers, space, towels, soap (!!). There is no where else in Sorrento at this price point and I had a great time as I really liked my roommates! Also the staff were amazingly friendly and nice.

For me, just the fact it didn’t have secure storage for backpackers. And the slight difficulty of needing the key card for power - hard to navigate with 6 strangers.

I was a little skeptical about that it was a hostel. But when I got there I was surprised. I booked a room for my me and my mom, the room was huge. Everything was very clean . The blow dryer in the room wasn’t strong enough for me , I went and I asked at the front desk if they have another one and did provide me with one. The font desk lady’s were very nice , they even gave us the room before check in hours. The breakfast stuff were very nice as well. If I ever go to Sorrento again I’ll definitely stay there .

The mattress was little uncomfortable

Loved the breakfast, it was so diverse and delicious. Great staff, very informative and helpful, I booked a trip directly through them, the price was exactly like I would have booked it online, but it has extra perks, the company got us and drove us back to our hostel. Loved the facilities, bath, tub in bath! I would come back. Just fyi there is an old fashion lock box inside the one where you need to add a 4 digit code. A small laptop would fit in, camera, wallet, I stayed in a 6 bed female room as a solo female traveller and felt very safe. Location is great, very central.

One of the most social hostels I’ve stayed in. Easy to make friends. Staff are awesome. A/C was amazing through the heat. Located near the bus stop for easy transits.

The stairs are rough from the main town/ferry. Get the bus here and make sure you buy a ticket first. Bit annoying that you can’t smoke on the balconies, and they close them early. Can’t bring alcohol in because they sell it here. That’s all I can think of though. You’ll love it here!
