Moxy Munich Ostbahnhof

I got a room on the top floor with nice views. The staff members spoke great English and made me feel welcomed and recommended places for me to travel while on my stay. The lobby area was always clean, my room was aesthetically pleasing, and spacious for one person. The hotel was also close by public transit, so for someone that gets lost easily and didn't speak German it was a plus.

Only thing I didn't like was not staying longer. I loved the hotel and it reminded me of my loft apartment in Chicago. The hotel was close to a lot of restaurants.

We were pleasantly surprised by the moxy. It's very modern and clean. The room was a standard small hotel room but comfortable for 2 people. There's not much around except a grocery store with an asian fast food restaurant but it's a 5-10min walk to the Ostbahnhof (east train station) where there are places to eat or take the train to the inner city. We did see a large ferriswheel but it didn't look open when we were there. There are snacks, drinks and necessities like toothpaste ect available for purchase at the reception but it's pricey. The bed was comfortable but a little on the harder side.

It would be nice if the tv had some more options for international guests rather than just german tv. Or the possibility to plug in our own firestick. We like to relax in the evening with a movie. Maybe i didn't understand correctly but when checking in they told me they would put 30€ deposit on hold on my visa but it ended up being the full amount plus 30€. Very annoying for someone on a tight budget who is paying in a different way than credit card.

Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast, but there was a varied choice and very tasty. I thought the value of the breakfast was ok because you could revisit the breakfast bar. Location was excellent for our needs, train station is a 5 minute walk and once you work out the fares and routes it’s the best way to get around, also with the right ticket you can use the buses and trams, staff were excellent, polite and very helpful. The bar has a real positive funky feel to it with a good selection of drinks.

I found my mattress a bit to firm. This might be ok for other people but not me

A really nice modern, clean, 'quirky' hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and were patient when I practiced my terrible German !. My daughter (who lives in Munich) was also given a complimentary coffee when meeting us one morning..Plenty to choose from at breakfast .. Very good value for money I felt, and my wife and myself were very impressed. Although not right in the centre of Munich, Ostbanhof is only a few minutes walk away with good, regular services (U Bahn and S Bahn) that don't take long to get to Marienplatz..

The area itself isn't currently the most 'scenic' but this is probably due to a fair bit of building work going on, so will probably look better when finished. (You can see that they have already tried to regenerate the area ). There wasn't really much 'storage' as such for clothes etc.. in the room, but that was a minor detail and did encourage us to be more tidy/organised.

Everyhting is OK. Breakfast is good, worth it. The hotel in general tries to have a vibe like if it were a young hostel with quality, it is nice, except when the service (problems withc chek -in) is hostel like instead of what your paying. Good location near Ostbahnhof (perfecto for the airport).

Problems with the check-in. We had to wait like an hour for check-in because they had problems with the system. It was late and there was not any offer (a cup of coffee or whatever) while waiting, you just had to sit there.

By now I am a Moxy Fan!!! I love the smell entering any Moxy, and love the relaxed, friendly, uncomplicated atmosphere. Room, bar, snacks and drinks to go, breakfast, parking all wonderfully organized. Nothing missing!!! Public transport close by. I loved the little garden/ park just outside the building which was great to see during breakfast All of us loved the pancakes The rest of us loved the table kicker. Nice way to connect to others!

vegan options for breakfast could be increased

First of all, the staff was absolutely lovely. The facilities were impeccable and spacious. My room was just what I hoped I would get and, on top of that, the location was just close enough to downtown that you could just walk or take the metro there and at the same time not being disturbed by the amount of people that one usually finds there. Plus, it is impeccably situated near the Ostbahnhof, which really helps moving around if you don’t feel like walking. Still, the best part about it was just how nice everybody in the staff was.

Not that I didn’t like it, but probably the Internet could have been better. Also, no matter how hard I tried I could not connect my laptop (MacBook Air) to the TV. Probably a good work-around for customers would be to have an HDMI cable somewhere in the room, which would be a fairly inexpensive and elegant solution

The location is a 5 minute walk from a main station, so really handy for connections to places around the city, including the airport. Quiet area and the staff are very helpful and friendly

Bedding and bathroom amenities are what you pay for in the room rate, but nothing bad, everything clean and comfortable.

The location is great only 5 minutes walking from the east train station of Munich. The room was really clean, the bed is so comfortable, the stuff of the hotel was really cool and helpful, and in the same complex there are two to supermarkets.

The wash hand basin was a little small and the lighting of the room was a bit off for me if there is one more light bulb it will be great.

Nice big room, generally a good stay. The breakfast, at €15, was excellent and very much worth the money. We chose to stay here to be close to Ostbahnhof.

The area of town, just west of Ostbahnhof, wasn't very interesting, however the other side of the station is lovely and a close walk.
