Hotel Torbräu

This was my second stay at Hotel Torbräu. The hotel is very charming and situated in an ideal location for walking the city and dining. the staff are very friendly.

only issue I had was we could not figure out how to turn down the heat. we were trying to use the wall thermostat which didn’t seem to work and brought it to the attention of the staff. they said they would fix it. then it was the same that evening. come to find out the heat was controlled by a dial in the radiator. maybe it would be helpful to have some sign or note to avoid the same confusion for future guests.

Location is close to the center near Marienplatz. The suite that we got is a great size and very clean with great amenities. The hotel have a great history as well. The breakfast is delicious and have a variety of choices. The staff are very friendly. If we go back to Munich, we will stay here again! I recommend Hotel Torbrau it does NOT dissapoint! We like everything from room, locatiob and service.

It was centrally located. The mini fridge had so many goodies and was refilled everyday and it came free with our room. The bathtub was also a great feature. The rooms were kept very clean.

It could get loud at night from the streets below but it was not too bad.

We have stayed here several times so we like it

No English TV channels!

An Excellent 5-star hotel Hotel Torbräu is a lovely hotel to stay. It is in a great location, 5 -min. walk to Marienplatz, shops, restaurants & other historic places. It’s peaceful, quiet and no street noise at night. I was greeted by a friendly & polite staff, Paul, at the front desk. He is very helpful, offering good advice and speaks excellent English, a plus to me. I had a single, updated and cozy room with comfortable bed and pillows and good air conditioning. It is spotlessly clean and had an updated & modern bathroom. The mini bar was free and refill everyday, an added bonus. The housekeeping staff is great - always clean towel each day. The breakfast buffet is awesome with a variety of choices. The Buffet staff are very friendly with a morning greetings of hot coffee, coco or tea. A good way to start the day. Will definitely stay here again when I next visit.

Nothing I disliked.

From the moment we walked in with my wife on crutches after a scooter accident the day before - the staff were amazingly accommodating even getting us ice packs and, I suspect, a change of room so she didn't have as far to walk. The room was fabulous, spacious and charming; the breakfast was excellent; and the location is second-to-none. The hotel's history was a big attraction for us and it perfectly balanced the old rustic nature with modern service and amenities.

In hotel wifi was insecure and poor quality. We mainly use it for research and communicating back home so it wasn't a massive issue until we tried to stream a movie one night.

I was evaluating this hotel and the others and I was worrying about the comfort of the bed, the size of the room and the noise, however this hotel exceeded my expectations: the room was arranged so well that I did not feel the compactness; the bed and the pillow were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and functional, the room on the back was quiet, and the staff was friendly especially the e cleaning ladies (except one guy at the front desk ignoring me twice by busying talking to his friend on the phone and busy talking to his colleague).

Though I could not hear any noise from outside, the upstairs guests were moving the furnitures and walking around at 5ish morning time. Not sure how hotel could handle it though. If I had quiet neighbors, this stay would be perfect.

The location is perfect for visiting the old town of Munich by foot & it’s only a 5 minute train ride (or 20 min walk) from the main train station. The staff is very nice and helpful. My single room was just perfect for traveling solo, and included an espresso machine complete with pods, cream, & sugar, restocked daily and a mini fridge kept stocked with treats & non alcoholic beverages. The bed was comfortable & the bathroom products were great. I would definitely stay again!

Lovely hotel only a 5-10 min walk from Marienplatz and minutes from the Sbahn connection to the train stations and airport. Our room was spotless, bed was very comfortable with good quality linens. Lots of space for luggage. Good sized, modern bathroom. Wifi worked well in the room. Quiet A/C. The breakfast is excellent. Lots of choices of fresh fruits, yogurts, eggs, sausages etc along with sweet pastries all taken in a nice breakfast room. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Munich.

Comfortable single, quiet room. Good air conditioning and blackout curtains so very dark and cool at night - a blessing in Midsummer. Not huge room but clean and smart - perfect for my needs. Good hot shower, working wifi, bonus was minibar with free non alcoholic drinks and a snack each day. Nice touch. Coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was fresh - choice of hot and cold food (and Sekt if you like some at 8am!). Attentive front desk helped with information and quickly ordered taxis when it rained and we had to get to an evening concert on time without getting soaked. Position was central, close to S bahn and cafes, restaurants, museums. Easy walking distance to main tourist sites. Really enjoyed the stay.

Hotel does not have restaurant for dinner - not a big issue for us as we ate out. It does serve drink and cakes etc.
