Le Méridien Hamburg

Everything was top notch with the exception of technical difficulties encountered. I will go into a little bit more detail in the 'what didn't you like' section of this review. Staff was exceptionally friendly

Check-in process was cumbersome. The Marriot digital key was flaky at best and I had to go to the reception multiple times to 'verify my ID' which was rather annoying. We won a free upgrade and were told the room will be ready by 1500 - at 1500 the upgrade was not even in the system and in the end we ended up getting a room on the second floor with limited view. We paid breakfast by card, but the hotel ended up charging the breakfast to our room anyway - so please check your statement BEFORE you check out.

The views from the breakfast salon were beautiful, and alongside the very complete breakfast menu were a wonderful way to welcome the day. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Good bed and a nice sized closet, as well as a roomy bathroom. The location along the Alster is very inviting for long and calming walks, enjoying the fresh air and marveling at the thought of being in a large city like Hamburg despite being surrounded by beautiful nature.

We would've appreciated some help getting our luggage up to our rooms. We had several suitcases due to a long trip and in a 5-star hotel, I'd expect at least a bellboy. For the price we paid I expected a full luxury hotel. The hotel is still excellent and by no means subpar, but not a luxury 5-star I'd expect for almost 500 € a night.

Check-in was smooth, got a nice view allocated by the duty manager. Breakfast was really nice and service was exceptional on the 9th floor! Decaf coffee in the room was a plus! Beautiful view from the room as well as wonderful location, very walkable area around the city center. Check-out was fast. Room service ladies are polite and fast.

Anyone can access the guests floor (it does not require access card which was lack of safety). Housekeeping knocked door only once and same time entered my room while I was inside just out of shower! Reception seemed like deserted area most of the time or with one person there. No assistance with luggage upon arrival. No proper restaurant available for lunch - only a bar. Very old iron and iron board connected to the wall without proper space for ironing clothes. If someone is ringing the bell you cannot hear properly and the voice is too far. There is no shower in the bathroom! Very low water pressure. Sink is too close to the pipe and when you wash hands it keep falling back into the soap as there is no space for hands in the sink.

Nice clean hotel with a nice spa with pool and friendly and helpful staff. Location is not super central but the city Center and Hamburg Rathaus can be reached with a short 15 minute walk. proximity to main central railway station and Hamburg art gallery. The hotel catered to the needs of my partner who uses a wheelchair making sure the toilet, which is usually a pain point in hotels when we are travelling, was adequately prepared. The hotel promptly answered my questions when I contacted them before our stay.

There isn’t really anything bad I can say about the hotel. But I wasn’t aware they would take a 600 euro indemnity upon arrival.

We came as a large group of friends and family to stay at the hotel in preparation for a wedding. We found the hotel, its staff and services absolutely exceptional and would have no hesitation in recommending it. We will certainly be looking for an opportunity to stay at the hotel in the future! The Heritage bar and top floor restaurant are excellent but we must single out all of the staff for making our stay truly wonderful.

Rm239, Cleanliness war inordnung but the layout and design war nicht user friendly. The outlets and light switch scheme was anoying. Outlet in corner behind chair didnt work. General nr of outlets were in short number. Bathtub wiithout a handheld sprayer, shower head near the front of showerstall without a door made for quite a mess. Water fixture looked nice but it was too low in basin..same went for tub. (Didnt use tub) Elect.safe kept beeping "closed" or ----0 constantly. Not loud but still to be heard..

We’ve stayed several times and we like the location and breakfast.

The television programs have only 1 English speaking channel which is Sky news. The body lotion for after the shower was empty for 2 days running….. disappointing at this price point. We drove our car ans for the entire time there was no porter ti help with parking our car or assisting with luggage; again not what we expected for many stays at the brand.

Gorgeous bathroom with large claw-footed tub and separate shower with to die for three separate adjustable heads--head, waist, and legs--and wonderful water pressure. It was my birthday while I was there and they treated me to Apfelschorle and Popcorn left sometime in the morning, and a beautiful slate with cakes and birthday wishes in the evening!

I had a little trouble with temperature controls in the room and would have liked it to be a little cooler overall.

the location is excellent. It is on the Alster and the breakfast was a beautiful experience — very good food and great vista of the Alster. The room is beautifully designed and when the wall light turns on, you will see a beautiful image of flowers with poetry on a glass wall of frosted glass against which the bed is. Quite romantic.

I wish there had been a bit more lighting in the room. The little hanging lights in the sitting area didn’t really do much to illuminate the room.

A supreb hotel in a fantastic location. The staff and the facilities were outstanding. The room was a good size with a fabulous bathroom. The hotel interior is beautiful inside. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. It was without a doubt an exceptional hotel with high quality standards throughout. The Spa is also supreb.
