Hotel Hirsch

The hotel is right across from the old town. Beautifully decorated with deer motifs. The room was spacious and warm in winter, the breakfast was lovely with a good spread and very cheerful staff to start the day. It was really easy to get to the train station (10 minutes walk) and Neuchwanstein Castle and Tegelberg (bus stop outside is 3 minutes walk away, or bus stop at the train station). Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a treat, hearty fare with local produce. And friendly hotel canine friends to check on whether guests are having a great time too!

No kettle in the room, though the restaurant staff were happy to supply a jug of hot water on request. When busy, one can get a mug of hot water.

Great breakfast, clean rooms, easy walk to popular spots in town, free parking, easy to drive out to other day trip locations.

We were there in June during a heat wave and were in a west facing room (front of hotel) on the third floor. It was HOT. They did give us a small fan but that didn’t help much. We understand that most hotels in Europe don’t have air conditioning and it was unfortunate we were visiting on some really hot days. But with the weather consistently becoming warmer I wish hotels would make a better investment into ceiling fans, extra fans for guests to request, or the portable/freestanding rotating AC units for the rooms.

Location central and close to everything . We upgraded on arrival to a superior room in the new section of the hotel and were happy with the size of room and views from the windows. Very little traffic noise despite being close to the road. Had an evening meal in the garden which was pleasant. And enjoyed breakfasts in the hotel with a good choice of foods Staff reasonably helpful

We inadvertently booked a twin room instead of a double room and were dismayed at its pokey size and requested a change of room immediately on seeing it. We paid the difference for a superior double and were happy with this as it was far more spacious and possibly had a few more features. Otherwise happy with everything else

We are on a road trip through Germany from the US checking out this morning . This hotel was perfect for what we were hoping for. Excellent value for the wonderful atmosphere of this beautiful property. Breakfast was excellent. Extremely professional and courteous staff. One of the reviews in April mentioned an addition of cruoissant or local pastry would be nice. This is now on the breakfast selection with wonderful jams and a wide variety of hot and cold selections and juices . Wonderful terrace with amazing view. Great location . Clean and comfortable . Such an old world German feel to the property with the decor and dress of the staff. We are here in July and the room is comfortable with the window open even though there is no air. I did bring my own pillow but seems as if they have replaced some beds with more comfortable ones. We have 2 rooms and some pillows on a couple of the beds are much fluffier and comfortable. Maybe in response to a couple of the previous reviews. Bathroom very nice and shower was wonderful water pressure . Shower is in tub and it is a high step in and out so have to proceed cautiously. Wonderful restaurant across the street as well that stays open till 10 pm Ristorante Pizzerialapela . Pizza was wonderful. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent as well.

We had a large family room to accomodate the four of us. A good amount of space for Europe. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Everything was very clean. Great location as the hotel is just a crosswalk across from the Old Town. Parking was available on site but second night it was full and we had to park in a garage nearby (but with discount). Breakfast was an ample spread of hot and cold offerings...plenty to start the day off right.

No air conditioning but even in June the night alpine air was cool. One washer and one dryer available for guest use.

Everything! Beautiful hotel, lovely antiques throughout all areas, very nice lady at reception for checking in (so sorry I did not remember her name). Breakfast was very good, and the breakfast room, dining room, and patio area were so lovely, and then we discovered the roof top terrace, what a view! We were delighted on discovering such a beautiful hotel! In a great area of historic sites, restaurants, and shops. We will certainly recommend it to anyone we know who may be traveling to the area.

Not a thing. The hotel, location, staff, food room decoration and amenities were pure perfection.

Dinner was good. They close the kitchen (for hot meals) at 930pm, so be sure to get in by 9pm. They waiter was very nice and gave some good selections. The mixed salad was totally fresh and delicious, as were the other entrees. For breakfast, it can get busy at 9am, so get in a little early and you will be able to choose a nice table by a window to watch people walk by. We traveled with some friends and found that each room was unique and very comfortable. We would recommend this to other travelers.

I liked that the location was close to the train station, we reached the hotel by foot. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was good. We got the room that was in the original part of the building, which felt very historical and nice.

As lovely as the room was, it was lacking a few basics that I have come to expect from hotels. They did not have a mini fridge, a water boiler for tea, or a coffee machine. They didn't have room service, so I had to go down to order the food and bring it up myself, not a problem as my room was right above the restaurant.

Beautiful, clean, spacious room. Every detail in the hotel has been carefully thought out. Very good quality breakfast. The location is excellent with easy parking. Füssen is so much more than just Neuschwanstein Castle - definitely worth spending a day there. The hotel also gives you a discount card for local attractions.

The shower could have been a little better (it's in a bath), maybe tea /coffee making facilities could be a nice touch in the room, and more sweet alternatives at breakfast (maybe a local cake or croissants). Only small suggestions, however.

The place is decorated in a very peculiar way. Each room and house area has got a set of elements that belong to the region and is also from a very specific era.

Restaurant was full and couldn’t take us, but there were plenty places only a couple of steps away, in the city center. The hotel doesn’t have A/C and due to the location, leaving the windows open until the morning is not a choice, since traffic will most definitely keep you awake or uncomfortable. All and all, it is completely worth to book.
