Berghotel Hammersbach

Very good location of the hotel. In the summer time, one can go hiking to the nearby mountains. The sauna and wellness facilities are very diverse and can meet various needs. The hotel also provides various kinds of massage. The hotel personal is not complicated and provides attention to the customers. As part of their offering, this hotel also gives a transportation card that allows you to use the local public transportation system for free (it does not include Zugspitze though!).

It is easy to spill the water on the floor when showering. The pool did not have fresh towels available.

The location was just heaven on earth..... The staff were quite friendly apart from an asian looking supervisor who wasn't that much friendly like the others..... But overall the staff were excellent. They paid much attention to details and were always ready to give explanations when necessary

An Air-conditioning system in the rooms is very much needed as staying in the rooms during the summer period can be quite warm and uncomfortable at night. I stood up often at midnight due to the temperature in the room..... Having guests to pay 9€ for parking is in my opinion not necessary as the hotel is not within a busy metropoly where space and free areas are scarce commodities.

Excellent experience, fourth times in this hotel at GaPa. I'll back, definitely.

The room was in a separate building and was spread over two levels, with the individual beds for the teenagers slightly separated from the parents' double bed. The room had a beautiful view and a small balcony directly overlooking the mountain river. There were parking spaces in front of separate buildings and scattered around the area. Several nice hiking trails start right next to the hotel. The breakfast was abundant.

We are used to eating quite late, and unfortunately, the hotel's buffet closed at 8:00 PM. Moreover, after 8:45 PM, we couldn't order from the à la carte menu either. The hotel was a bit far from other restaurants or shops (they were about 4 km away). There was no refrigerator in the room. The parking spaces were extremely crowded, and since we had a ski box, we couldn't reserve a covered spot in advance, and reservations weren't accepted for the outdoor parking spaces. As a result, we had to search for parking farther away from the accommodation building.

The breakfast was wonderful and available until 10:30 am. The room was really comfortable. I especially enjoyed relaxing on the balcony with the beautiful views. The location was also perfect for us: away from the busy city centers, but with easy access to the Zugspitzbahn and the Eibsee bus line. Many hiking trails also started nearby.

It would be nice if there were clearer indications for closed areas of the restaurant terrace, plus some indication that the full dinner menus would be available only starting at 6 pm. This would have saved us some confusion.

Perfect location, perfect view from the window. 1 minute walking from zugbahn. Very comfortable for skiing. Nice bright room, good tasty breakfast with variety of products. Nice sauna and swimming pool.

At the arrival we were waiting for the keys of our room approx. 2 hours and received the keys almost at 5 pm (official check in time from 15 :00) and heard no excuse for late check in. The receptionist orally did not say nothing about the possibility to get a guest card (valid for train) or where to keep our ski... The room was "cleaned" every day , but actually we can not say what except the bed was done in the room (in 4 days noone even changed our towels), at the bathroom there wasn't any minimal bath equipment (except shampoo and hand gel). If the hotel positions itself as a 4 star Hotel (with not a cheap price) then it shall follow some minimum 4 stars standards.

It was a great location. We did half board and enjoyed breakfast and dinner in on site restaurant. The indoor pool was nice, the fitness center was well equipped and the sauna/wellness center was very nice. Enjoyed a massage followed by time in the multiple saunas. This dog friendly hotel was perfect for our stay. The family skied/snowboarded at Garmisch Classic and had a great time. Would definitely recommend this place. And would stay here again.

It was a little pricey -but to be fair we were a family of 5 during the Christmas break. Of note our room was right by the train tracks and every time it came in to the station it would blow its horn. Did not bother us at all- but was a bit loud.

The New Year package was really great - 3 nights, all meals included. NY gala and buffet was great, the live music was also a treat, staff was helpful (they only forgot to tell us our room was ready upon arrival but that's ok), guests and staff were very family and dog friendly. Food was really varied and plentiful. Baby bed was in good condition and put in the room without asking..The swimming pool had a decent size and view to mountains, and is open until 22.00 (quite late). The location of course is stunning and there were different ways to get to Grainau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The room we stayed had not been updated for years, it looked old and a bit tacky. The pictures on Booking mostly featured the new rooms with updated design. But everything functioned. There was no kettle or coffee machine in the room and it didn't seem guests were allowed to use the drink machines in the canteen between breakfast and dinner. The fireworks was great but it came from a very nearby place so metal pieces and other burnt bits were falling on people.

The hotel is nicely located at the bottom of the mountains. The view is spectacular. The rooms are comfy and there is complete silence at night which is amazing to rest. The spa area is great.

The dinner buffet could have offered a wider range of food and healthier options. Also, not much food options for very young children. But you can order a la carte too and the food at breakfast was nice and diverse. The price is quite high (but it provides you with full access to the pool and spa). The temperature of the pool could have been a bit higher though - not warm enough for young children.

Located in Hammersbach ideally situated for the Train that runs to Garmisch. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent restaurant with German buffet in the evenings and a decent sized pool, ski store and wellness centre. Double aspect balcony room 247, comfortable bed, nice memory foam air pillow, clean bathroom with Rituals shower gel and with on site parking ( not free)

Nothing not to like only, the room in the annex was not as modern as those illustrated and could do with some minor updating.
