Hôtel Le Sauvage

Retro style hotel (a matter of taste, but we liked it a lot). It's an 18th century building, with some utensils from back then displayed. Under the hood (and the vintage looking exterior) everything worked well, was tidy and very clean. The food was excellent and good value for money; also the location is great: close to the abbey and historic town centre, and close to the motorway, so ideal for a stopover.

No shower curtain, leading to a bit of flooding on the bathroom floor. Internet was only working in some rooms (not in ours) and in the lobby.

Friendly helpful staff. This is a good price for a hotel room in Tournus and it is only a few minutes from the abbey. It is a traditional French hotel. There is a lift to upper floors. The twin rooms have original parquet floors. Also adequate Wi-Fi. The breakfast is continental with good fresh French bread and croissants, coffee and it is buffet style and served in the restaurant. There is food and drink available both at lunch time and dinner and there is also an outside raised terrace to sit and have a meal. The food is well prepared from a small menu and again a fair price. The hotel is pet friendly so you can take your dog in the restaurant. Parking is in a public car park free of charge and available in the square in front of the hotel.

It’s a bath not a shower and the hand held shower did not work. The reading lamp didn’t work and a light was out in the bathroom.

Hotel in the old style close to the Abbey in Tournus. Comfortable beds, good breakfast, lock-up garage for our touring bikes. It was surprisingly difficult to find a restaurant in Tournus, we walked around the town for almost an hour with no success! Eventually found the Resto de l’Abbaye near our hotel but on the upper main road. Can highly recommend this for authentic French cuisine at good prices!

A nice little hotel as in the old times with a suitable decor. And for the first time we slept in a round bed.

There was no curtain at the bad to take a shower so the bathroom was all wet. The water of the sink didn’t run through very fast. But these are minor details. The staff was very friendly and a parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast and room were correct.

The location was excellent for easy access to the motorway and for exploring the town. The eccentric and eclectic decoration. The staff were lovely and made everyone very welcome. The restaurant was very good.

The rooms are in need of refurbishment. However, this is reflected in the price which represents excellent value and made up for by the lovely staff.

Stayed here before, and was concerned at some poor reviews. Very happy it had not changed. Everything was traditional, neat and tidy. Really had a pleasant stay. Location just perfect, in a lovely town.

Lovely comfy retro rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant. Free nearby parking.

Lift out of order. No aircon so had to sleep with the windows open and some selfish git on the floor below insisted on watching the tv VERY loudly into the small hours.

Nice hotel in good location, within walking distance of town centre, river and the church, which is well worth a visit. There is also free parking outside hotel.

Good for a one night stopover.

Very friendly, multilingual staff. We had dinner in the restaurant which was good - large portions! The building is old and has history, the furnishings are in harmony with this.

Our room was a bit cold.

Good location, plenty of parking adjacent. The hotel itself has bags of character.

A door on the shower would have been good and a wider range of cereals at breakfast e.g museli.
