Hôtel & Spa Le Bouclier D'or

The property is unique. The building is very old and we stayed on the 4th floor. The views were so beautiful. Old rooftops. I felt like fiddler on the roof. Also I loved the breeze we got from being up high. The room was dated and upgraded at the same time. It’s a perfect vibe for the location in Old Town. It was close to basically everything. There was an elevator which was nice. I didn’t have time for the spa but I would have loved to check it out.

I didn’t get breakfast because it was pricy but that was okay. I got it elsewhere. Anais was great! But the other staff were not as friendly in my opinion. She gave us a map and great tips. When leaving, we received incorrect directions to the train station. It took over 20 minutes to get there. Pack light because cobblestones plus luggage can be tough!

beautiful property in a perfect location. the staff was incredibly helpful. I had left something in Paris and the staff was glad to help me direct the item to my next hotel. I can’t thank them enough for all their help!!!

The property and owners were absolutely lovely. Upon checking in I immediately extended my stay. I was assigned a very large corner room on the 2nd floor. The room had a beautiful parquet floor, antique furniture including a huge amoire, a chandelier and three large sound-proof windows which opened to a courtyard and village streets. The bathroom was also very large, had beautiful fixtures and had two bath robes, slippers and toiletries. The location is ideal for exploring Petit France and the rest of Strasbourg. There are many restaurants just around the corner near the Tanner’s house. The train station is a short 15 walk which was very convenient for a day trip to Colmar and my return to Paris. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and look forward to a return trip soon.

great location next to ;e petite France, great choice of bars, restaurants and cafés within a short walking distance. despite how close we were the area was very quiet. a 10 min walk to the cathedral and opera house maybe another 10 mins from cathedral but taxis and trams also available, Staff were extremely friendly and attentive, always happy to help. we didn't have breakfast but the breakfast room looked lovely. good stocked bar, and lovely out door terrace seating area. from the outside of the hotel to the inside this hotel is just beautiful, very clean, large spacious rooms again all very clean and tidy.

An incredibly welcoming, comfortable, stylish location to spend your nights in central Strasbourg (in the beautiful La Petit France area). I was traveling with my wife, an older sister on her very first trip overseas, and my sister's friend - and we booked 2 rooms for 3 nights there. What an amazing location, and the friendliest staff. They are all very good with English for those of who have not learned French (!), very helpful and welcoming, and always ready to help. The valet service in particular was invaluable, as their excellent valet came and rescued us from an illegal parking spot (!) when we were too frustrated to drive further (lots of one-way streets and construction near the canals in the center), and the woman on the phone was extremely patient, calm, and understanding when we called in for help to get to them. It was much appreciated! When a next-door neighbor was excessively loud, the management quickly had a word with them and the problem immediately stopped. Another class move by a class staff. We will absolutely stay here again when hopefully we return for a Christmas-market timed return trip!

Very little to find fault with. One of the best places I have stayed in, anywhere.

Beautiful old building in a fantastic location close to the old town and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent though perhaps a little expensive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The terrace was quiet and convenient, although the bar serving drinks did not open until 14:00. I would recommend this hotel, with one word of warning - my room was on the top floor, originally an attic roof with sloping ceilings. The weather was in the mid-twenties, and the room was very hot. Also needed to watch my head on the beams.

Everything was great, apart from the temperature, but that is beyond the control of the hotel.

In general I was very pleased with my stay at the hotel. The location is perfect and I could sleep without disturbance from the outside.

In such a high rated hotel I missed not having the opportunity to iron my clothes in my room. There was neither an iron with an ironing bord nor could I borrow an iron. The only option was to have my clothes ironed by the hotel staff for 8 euros a piece. I just needed to refresh some of my working clothes after having them in my suitcase and this was quite an expensive service.

The moment we entered the property we were impressed by the remarkable historic building, reception staff very efficient and helpful. We arrived early so our bags were stored without any concerns. We loved the spacious bedroom with period furniture and separate toilet to shower with individual bathrobes. terrace and antique bar lounge had lovely ambience.

The staff at this Wonderful quaint Little Hotel is amazing parking by cars not easy but they made it so easy and even when we checked out they were able to accommodate our car so we could further enjoy the city. Upon arrival the upgraded us to amazing room with a beautiful Street view the sheets in this hotel are superb they feel amazing in the bed never better large scrumptious pillows. The breakfast was amazing just a nice light touch to set us on our day was wonderful coffee to go with it

Lovely hotel and excellent service. A historical property beautifully renovated, French decor and the personal attention of the owner herself…AND all the amenities and comforts of a modern hotel. This is the hotel to stay if you want to feel like you are somewhere, rather than a big chain hotel where you feel you could be anywhere. The double room is a very good size with plenty of space. Loved the overall decor with antique furniture. Very comfortable bed. The bathroom is also spacious with a big shower and double sinks. I peeked into some other rooms and they all looked amazing with different colour schemes and slightly different furniture. The location of course is perfect. Super close to restaurants, shopping and the famous Petite France quarter. And about 10-15 mins walk to the cathedral. We walked pretty much all of the Grand île from here. Also has a spa but unfortunately had no time to try it.
