Campanile Nantes Centre - Saint Jacques

The overall looks of the hotel, the fact that it is new. The location of the hotel suited our needs perfectly and it is comfortably reachable from both the airport and the train station. It is really close to the town center as well so it is a plus too, yet the district is quiet and the noise insulation of the room is pretty good too. The room was also perfectly clean so I was really satisfied with that. Actually I often chose Campanille in places where I travel to because of the ideal value to price ratio.

The Mattress was to our taste a little too soft so our backs were hurting a little the next day. Also there was no real way to raise the temperature or to turn of the AC which was definitely not set at the indicated 23 degrees, which resulted in us being a bit cold throughout the night. The AC was really harsh. But I guess it is great for heatwaves (which were happening during our stay) and overall I appreciated that there was AC.

Good stay, staff were helpful, we arrived in the middle of the night and staff were still available to check us in.

The car park only had one space left so parking is hit and miss if you get a space- probably easier if you get there at a regular time of day. No parking spaces nearby outside of the hotel if there are no spaces. Not suitable for anyone with a roof box on the car. The main car park is underground and has a height restriction of 1.90 and can’t fit a roof box in. There is a small number of outside parking spaces but these were all gone so no guarantees.

Walking distance from the city centre and excellent public transport right out the door. Good breakfast available.

It's a budget hotel so no luxury expected. But, the only mirror in the room was in a very dark spot and no adjacent electric socket. No good for doing your make up and hair. Nice big mirror in the wet room, but it kind of flooded a bit due to slow drainage of the shower and the mirror took an age to demist. Wasn't prepared to stand in a puddle and use electrical items.

The road facing rooms were good, with excellent noise cancelling windows to block out traffic sounds. Meals were very good value for money (breakfast and dinner) and car parking underground was a bonus. We arrived too early for the room but the hotel allowed us to leave the car and go into the city to visit the attractions. The hotel is a good 40 min walk from the city but perfectly there is bus stop outside the hotel that goes into the city (line 4) both ways - and free at the weekend. The hotel was efficient, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and after a day of walking, an excellent sleep was had.

I did not appreciate how far the hotel was from the main city but the bus made up for that. Not a fan of lime green plastic furnishings in the bedroom but that's personal taste.

The staff was accommodating, the breakfast was good, and the outside sitting area at the restaurant is great (good to sit outside for breakfast in summer), Room service is great (clean), Easily got the parking, the only issue with parking is on weekends or when the hotel is full, as they have only limited space for parking. And overall experience is good and value for money.

Nice modern,clean hotel with good secure undercover parking. Easy to find and not far from the airport. a good 40 minutes walk from Nantes centre so not ideal from a sightseeing point of view if you want to be on foot. Bikes would work well though. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The rooms well sized, clean and with everything you need. Excellent value.

I have no dislikes. The restaurant opens at 19.00 and the bar at 18.00 if you want aperitif food. I didn’t notice if there were restaurants near but I think not. So the only slight negative is the distance from the centre but for me that was a plus as I needed to get to the airport.

A really comfortable simple stop off Able to park underneath, room had all basic facilities, was clean and comfortable. The restaurant offered a really good cold buffet The staff were attentive and helpful Room pretty quiet - woken by rubbish collection in adjoining residential area. The only intrusion - except for some inexplicable reason the tv turned itself on during the night.

The cold buffet offered a really good and interesting meal by itself. The hot main dishes were bland and not enjoyed - the pork was over cooked and dry. Would stick with just the buffet next time. Pleasant outdoor area to eat in.

We arrived early and the staff let us leave the car in the car park so we could go and explore the city. When we got back and given our room key there was a workman in there but the staff very quickly moved us to a different room. It was clean and was supposed to have air conditioning but it never seemed to work properly. The breakfast was really nice with lots of choice.

We were on the ground floor and could not have the window open due to smokers outside. I would have preferred the air conditioning to work properly as well.

Good location - friendly staff and secure car park which was helpful because we were travelling on motorbikes. Internally good with a nice bar and TV - restaurant was fair with a good choice of food and not too expensive.

Food was served only comment could have been warmer. When we arrived the room we were allocated had not been made up. We mentioned this to reception and were given a clean room immediately.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful as we were in Nantes for the rugby and the staff made the experience v pleasant. The transport facilities in Nantes were excellent. A great experience in Nantes overall. Allez les verts!😀

We would have like to be able to order a drink later than 11.00 in the bar.
