Hotel Aguado

Very comfortable bed. The location was excellent with great views of the beach and seafront in general.

The breakfast was poor value for money. The fruit cocktail was virtually all cubes of very hard apple with one small piece of pineapple and a small piece of melon.Otherwise a generally basic continental breakfast. The bath was slippery without a slip mat unless you asked for one and to get in and stand for the shower meant you needed to hold onto the glass water shield which could easily be broken causing serious injury as it couldn't be opened. Also the bath towels were quite small.

As we were on a cycle tour, we really appreciated the fact that the staff were not bothered when we arrived dripping wet out of a rainstorm. The cycle storage was secure The location of the hotel was brilliant. A short walk to the pebbly beach. Lots of shops and restaurants within a short walk. We ate at The New Haven restaurant overlooking the yacht harbour. Great seafood. The Aguado breakfast was superb. Loads of choice of good quality foods. Book a sea view room if you stay here. Will definitely stay at the Aguado again when we are next in Dieppe.

All three reception staff we encountered during a one night stay were excellent, cheerful and very helpful, a pleasure to find after searching 2 hours for nearby parking, it being fete national day. Breakfast was fine, but lacked atmosphere as staff only visited to re-stock and clear away. The views were amazing.

Nearby parking to unload, was not available because of the day of celebration, of which, we had not been warned. There being no air-con, we opened a window, but quickly found we might be joined by two inquisitive sea gulls so it had to be closed on a pretty hot night. There were only two milk sachets, only sufficient for one cup of tea, a minor point, but you asked.

It was a pleasure to return to the Aguado, following two previous visits. Our sea-facing room was extremely comfortable (we especially liked the two armchairs by the window). Positive features included (empty) refrigerator, plenty of hangers in the closets, and well-appointed bathroom. Room serviced daily, with all supplies (tea/coffee, soap and shampoo) topped up. Excellent reception staff. Very good breakfast buffet.

Very helpful staff. Beautiful breakfast, private guest balcony overlooking the promenade. Clean and warm bedroom and bathroom.

Road noise wasn't good. The hotel is built over the main route to the promenade, not an issue by day, but at night motorbikers would rev their engines to get the echo. This went in late into each night of my stay.

We came for the International Kite Festival for which the hotel location was superb. Restaurants, cafes, big farmer’s market (Saturday), beach and harbor front were within an easy walk. Christine, the 3rd generation hotel owner, works at the front desk many mornings. She is young, courteous, kind, smart and efficient. The staff is like her! Our room had an updated bath/shower, a mini fridge, big windows for fresh air and a comfortable bed. Our stay was delightful!

We had what was called 'city view'. It was, in fact a really beautiful view down a street and to the docks. (room 312) Bed was really comfortable, too. We loved the terrace overlooking the greensward and sea, especially for the sunset. The staff were super helpful and friendly.

Not many electrical sockets. WE would have liked to relax in the bar, but unfortunately it was VERY low in stock! i.e. almost nothing there! Because it was high season it was quite difficult to find a parking space near the hotel.

It is a perfect example of ‘retro-chic’ combining fashion from the 70’s 80’s 90’s and more modern genres. However it all works so well with modern fittings, lovely beds and visual stimuli that please and cause interest.

Nothing really, the lift is a bit small but the stairs easy to climb

This was our second visit. The staff are so welcoming, it's like coming home. It was my partner's birthday, so I had organised champagne for our room. The champagne was ready and waiting, they had also upgraded us to a room with a sea view free of charge. Thank Hotel Aguado for making our stay so special.

Saying goodbye. Can't wait until our next visit!

Great location on the beach front. Which means set back from the beach across the greensward. So it is quiet. I had a town view which was also lovely. Room was very comfortable and the staff were so kind- and put up with me attempting to speak French. I have stayed here before and will do again. It’s lovely.
