Great hotel in a very good location of Amboise. The castle is in walking distance. Bonus was that there is a private parking close by for a fare rate, so very safe. Also a lot of free parking, but they were all occupied. The room was really nice. Very stylish. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom and an nice view of the castle.

Wouldn't recommend to use the air condition, as it seemed that it was not cleaned for years and the smell was quite strange which came out of it. We slept with open window then, because it was very hot. We woke up several times because of rare but loud cars and motocycles, which is quite usual in rural areas of france.

The 4 members of our party thought the breakfast was exceptionally good value. 1 member was impressed that the scrambled eggs were dairy-free to cater for people who consume no dairy. The location was excellent. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The older features of the hotel added to its charm. The bedrooms were comfortable. The air conditioning was very welcome. I'd be happy to stay there again.

One couple was disappointed that their shower had no door nor shower curtain once inside their bathroom, which sent water outside the cubicle. The window of one room had to be kept shut during the first part of the night due to sounds of traffic, although most of the night it was quiet.

Lovely old hotel in a good location. Room was quite small as was the bathroom, but it has been modernised which was good. . Secure parking is available, it is not on site it is about 50 metres up the road. You must pre book it to make sure you get it. The location is great really easy walk into the city centre and attractions. We loved Amboise.

Bit awkward climbing up 2 flights of very narrow spiral stairs with heavy bags. If you aren't particularly fit or strong you might want to ask for a lower level room.

Hotel in a great location, within easy walking distance from the town and restaurants yet away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast had a good variety of things to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful and explained how to reach main attractions, opening time etc. I thought that the price we paid was great value for money when compared to what we paid elsewhere.

Would have been great to have a top sheet on the bed as we stayed there mid summer and the thick duvet was far too warm to use.

A pretty small hotel located near the centre of Amboise old town. The receptionist at check-in was very helpful and booked us a restaurant for that evening and helped us with our luggage. There is free parking outside the hotel if you can get a space. The room was comfortable for a nights stop over and a visit to the old town and DaVinci's house - Chateau of Clos Luce etc. Breakfast was included and we had the usual continental breakfast. The staff we met were helpful and friendly.

Our room on the top floor was small for 2 people and luggage, I asked to see other rooms, but they were even smaller. It was explained to me that they are small because it is an old building, which made sense. There is one large ground floor room if you are lucky. I think it's good for 1 night, you may want a larger room for a longer stay

Nice view of tree at the entrance of the hotel from my room window. Good breakfast available for a fee. Area around hotel appears to be very safe neighborhood, however, if I was traveling alone I would not have felt comfortable walking 0.25 mile back from city center to the hotel in the dark at 10 pm. The brick road did have lights on the houses, but was pretty deserted on a Wednesday and Thursday night. Parking was free in a lot in front of the hotel. Hotel also offered parking a block away for about 5 euro/night.

Something, I think it was the wall air conditioning unit in room, buzzed sounding like a phone alarm for 2 seconds every 30 min for a couple hours, was silent for 2-3 hours, and then resumed its buzz during the night. I am a hard sleeper and fell back to sleep easily so this was only a minor difficulty.

The location was very good. 5 minute walk to almost everything on level ground. About 20-25 minute walk from the train station.. Breakfast was nice. Ham, eggs, variety of breads, cereal, coffee etc. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean. Room 109 faced the front and was very quiet at night. It is on the first floor up and is bigger room than 108. We would return.

A nice old hotel but no lift. Narrow winding staircase was difficult with luggage. The large sink in a tiny bathroom....smaller sink would have worked better.

This hotel is directly on the Loire a Velo cycle route just as you enter Amboise and is close to the main tourist sites and restaurants. Secure bicycle parking is available in a locked garage about 50m from the hotel. Breakfast (extra charge) was good.

Our room was very small, on the top floor with reduced headroom around the bed and with very basic furnishings (a shame as it is a lovely old 15th century building)

Beautiful quaint old hotel in a terrific location in the centre of Amboise, rooms are obviously compact but have everything needed and are spotlessly clean. Great selection for breakfast and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. This was particularly important when Detours de Loire company did not collect our luggage for transfer to Tours. The girl on reception was really helpful and communicated with our hotel in Tours to arrange the transfer. I would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly return.

Everything was excellent

This hotel combines an intriguing historical background with modern conveniences. The air conditioning was outstanding, and had no problem keeping me frosty cold even during the 103 degree day. The room was tidy, efficient, and small but served my purposes just fine. I loved the exposed timber beams in my room. Very cool. The staff was fantastic, and the breakfast was really adequate for the $10 price. I would stay here again.

The only item that needs to be pointed out is the weak WiFi in the building. It’s so important to me when traveling abroad to keep up with family, conduct a little business, and post my videos and photos on social media. This WiFi was certainly free and available, but not acceptable in my humble opinion. Everything else was great! My overall rating would be 8.5 due to the WiFi issue that I experienced.
