Homewood Suites by Hilton Toronto Vaughan

Very friendly staff and well equipped bedroom suites. Great location, close to highway. We always stay there when we go to Canada’s Wonderland as it’s only a few kilometers away. Nice gym, pool, hot tub and business centre.

The pull out couch mattress is not very comfortable. My kids love the hotel but they always complain about that. For the first time, the breakfast wasn’t as good as it usually is. The potatoes were cold and sausages were dry. It’s not usually like that. There was a bit of dust on my nightstand and in the toilet paper holders.

Walmart right next door, location close to attractions we were going to, and a short drive to goTrain into Toronto. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly.

-Rooms weren’t cleaned properly. Upon arrival to our room, we moved the curtain in the bedroom and there were Dorito style chips on the floor there. Cabinets in kitchenette were sticky. Found a blue toy duck just underneath sofa from a previous guest. -Breakfast options weren’t great.

The room was lovely, with a separate toilet /shower area, which was perfect for getting ready, as the sink and mirror are in a different area. There was a separate sitting room to the bedroom, which was nice. Swimming pool was great, have small children and its all one level and perfect for them.

Furniture was worn, not a great coffee machine. Not very environmentally friendly, some easy improvements could be made. Pool not for doing lengths, just playing in but the jacuzzi was lovely.

The room was spacious enough for the most part and was clean and had what was needed Housekeeping and staff in general were very pleasant and greeted and chatted as you came about on the floor.

Breakfast lacked some common choices. I was hoping for young people like restock of muffins(only seen them before 7am) and no waffles/pancakes.. for picky eaters. Keep that in mind if your kid(s) are the same.

location & how hotel is kept

not responding to requests kindly. for instance I advised garbage was not changed & required extra towels and if someone could please pick it up. I was told someone would bring me garbage bags & towels. it brought me to the conclusion I would need to change garbage & towels myself to give it to housekeeping when he/she arrived…which is exactly what happened.

from the moment we walked in, i was a bit upset with the service, my husband couldn't go last minute and because the credit card on file was in his name, i was almost turned away with 3 kids.... felt as though the staff was not going to assist, explained i came all the way from Windsor, it was 9 at night, where would I go... then I didn't have a credit card of my own so I practically had to beg for them to take a debit deposit to let us stay... the conversation on the phone with her manager was not up to par and she kept laughing as though i was a joke. I was not impressed and let the staff know this. I have stayed at this hotel for many years, we are Canada's Wonderland season ticketholders and I appreciate the size of the large suites for our family, the accessibility of the kitchen, living room areas, the pool, the closeness in proximity, the cleanliness... just wish the staff was a little more compassionate when we ran into an issue and didn't make me feel like I was trash coming in off the street... in the end, the Manager allowed the deposit but the whole ordeal could've been avoided.

please read comments above... ***As well, the price that I booked for on BOOKING.COM was not being reflected at the front desk and the staff was trying to charge me almost $400 more than what booking.com reservation said. I had to show proof to get the price adjusted and thank goodness i kept all that info. When we book ahead with that service, we shouldn't have to run into difficulties, price should automatically match at hotel.

Breakfast was ok. It was included with the room fee and for that I can’t complain. The hot items were lukewarm but there was a lot of fresh fruit and yogurt so that was a bonus. Beds were ok. Bathrooms and beds were clean. Furniture was a little worn looking. We got upgraded to a suite but for a charge - which we didn’t ask for but were told that where we had room. Even though that’s not what we booked. Staff was friendly.

Pool was small and sort of dirty looking. I wouldn’t let my kids go after we tried it once.

very clean, usable kitchenette, quiet room (even though could hear cheers from soccer-fans while in hallway), Walmart next door was very convenient, good hot breakfast, very comfortable king bed

lumpy/thin mattress in pull-out bed (really not suitable for adults), took some 'negotiating' to just get bedding on pull-out bed changed (though had declined daily room cleaning)

my stay at homewood suites was great the only problem we only stayed 1 night booking.com did not reserve our room they were able to accomadate for 1 night only booking.com failed us and for that reason i will never book through booking.com again you are just like expedia.ca they also did not reserve our room in Barrie at Hampton Inn the previous night shame on you for ruining our holidays.
