Econo Lodge Inn & Suites University

It was nearby the Banff Trail Train Station. I took the train the whole entire time going to downtown Centre. It was very convenient when it comes to transportation. I was able to save money from car rental. Meeting place for my city tour and national park tour was in downtown. It is close by the North Hill Mall incase you need something. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. I loved my stay at this hotel and definitely will book here again. The staffs here are friendly and will help you if you need directions. It is a basic Breakfast and complimentary. There are vending machines at the left side of the reception.

I have stayed here before and there is a lot to like. It's very conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and a CTrain stop. The rooms are comfortable and each is nicely equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, etc. There is ample free parking. Housekeeping went above and beyond this time, keeping my room in tiptop shape. The rates are always extremely reasonable and it's a very nice place to stay for the money.

The hallways are dated and a bit worse for the wear (doesn't bother me but it's worth noting). Another protein option at breakfast (such as yogurt) would be lovely.

Very conveniently located right by the Banff Trail train station. Parking is available and the area seemed fairly quiet. Rooms are unremarkable, seemed comfortable enough for the stay - you get what you pay for. Air conditioning worked well, breakfast was acceptable, and staff were friendly. Would stay here again if I'll visit for some work in downtown.

Room had a funny smell, not sure if the previous occupant had smoked or if it was a general lingering smell. Reported it to front desk during check out and they've said they'll take care of it

Room was large looked recently renovated. Staff called to see how I was doing after check-in, and they threw out a bag of dirty paper towels I had been using to clean off muddy shoes, without me asking them to come pick up. I was happy they did so, but felt a little guilty afterward leaving them the extra work.

Parking spaces are available but the lot can be a but tight if you have a larger vehicle and need to park in the back.

This proved a really good value overnight stop before catching a flight. The pool and hot tub were a treat. It is close the the train for downtown. And the breakfast which was included in the price, included some wholesome options.

The breakfast area, which is quite small, did get quite crowded at one point of the morning. However the supplies of food and drinks were well maintained by the staff attending.

I analyze hotel stays in a practical sense. This is rated as a 2 star hotel. It I compare to other similar places (I've stayed in a lot of hotels in my life) this was beyond expectations. I don't expect a lot from a 2 star hotel, but this place was clean, staff was friendly, and everything else was as expected. That's all I ask for in a 2 star hotel

If you can attach soft closing hinges on doors for the outside access suites, that would help. The only distraction I had the two days I was there, was somebody's door slamming pretty heavy, but it wasn't that big of a deal

The place was very clean, the beds comfortable and they had a parking for visitors for free which was very helpful for us. They were cheaper than other hotels but their rooms are well equipped and comfortable.

Nothing much except maybe the location, you needed a car from there to downtown or anywhere else really, otherwise it would take longer using public transportation if any is available.

Good location in that it is very close to the high speed LRT. Appreciated the free breakfast, the coffee was amazing my first day, not so much the next...staff needs to be properly trained on this important feature. 😀

There is not a whole lot in the neighbourhood. I had to take the train to the next stop to get food and supplies at a mall.

Convenient location, already our second stay, so we kind of knew what to expect. Good value for the price.

The space in the lobby, where the breakfast is served, is too small and overcrowded during peak hours. At 7 am it was so full that there was no space left to sit down to eat the breakfast. Also don't expect any hot meals (e.g. eggs or bacon).

Excellent value for money and quality. Breakfast is included. You can use a pool, hot tug, and jym. We booked 2 hotels in Calgary. One of them was cheaper - Econo Lodge Inn & Suites University. Another one was more expensive. And I can say that I liked more Econo Lodge Inn. Next time I will not overpay for another hotel I will come to Econo Lodge again.

I would like breakfast has more natural products and ingredients (for example, in muffins and bread).
