Mercure Ballarat Hotel & Convention Centre

Staff were extremely welcoming and professional. Very courteous from booking in to staff at Azzure, breakfast service. Apartment 22 was very clean. Lounge furniture is modern and very comfortable. Bathrooms were functional.. kitchen also well stocked, crockery, glasses, cutlery etc Beds were comfortable and warm. Extra blankets were available.. Garden area was a bonus.

Bedrooms needed improvement. Both bedrooms not very well appointed. Main bedroom: missing 2nd bedside table, broken chain on one of the blinds. Wardrobe hanging space only for clothing no drawers. 2nd bedroom: cupboard doors wouldn't close, again no drawer storage, no bedside lamps, you had to get out of bed to turn off the light, switch was over by door. Also missing 2nd bedside table...

The size of the room and bathroom the three windows THAT ACTUALLY OPENED the fact that the wall with the bed on it didn't meet an adjoining wall was an outside wall. The windows coverings actually blocked out the light.

The king bed was two singles joined with a topper you could not sleep in the centre ree if the bed due to the topper having a hard feel where it was joined as a single traveller I chose the bed to be able sleep in the WHOLE bed but gad to sleep on one side. Very disappointing the spa in the bathroom was not working

Excellent location. Room was a good size with lots of space but the bathroom was a bit dated for the price. Bed was very comfortable. Buffet breakfast was excellent and staff were very helpful.

Outdoor lighting did not exist with light globes or wiring not working. Nothing got done. Very unsafe. Light inside the unit next to the tv did not work and wasn’t fixed. Didn’t matter too much. Safe didn’t work and after a bit of fiddling staff said it was the batteries and did replace them. Wouldn’t have been happy if our belongings were in there and we couldn’t have had access to them! Dinner rather expensive.

Beautiful courtyard in the centre of the apartments to look out into from the lounge room. Tables & chairs outside for when the sun comes out. Friendly staff. Comfy beds. Clean apartment. Daily servicing if required. Quiet & beautiful surroundings in whole hotel complex. Service station & meal options nearby. Our main reason for booking was a reasonable price in school holidays when others triple the price. Right opposite Sovereign Hill which is great for families. We’ll be back!

Loved the body wash, shampoo dispensers in the bathroom but the shampoo dispenser was broken & if the body lotion one is conditioner it should be labeled so.

The size of the room and the bed and the variety of pillows were very good. The restaurant staff were excellent and nothing was too difficult for them.

The step in bath to use the shower requires a safety bar to hold onto when exiting the shower, as the Mercure admit that the bath is slippery. The hot tap had to be turned on fully while the cold was just cracked open. We had to request that the soap dispenser be replenished as the cleaning staff did not check it.

It was very convenient to have parking inside the hotel and don’t have to worry about that. The room was really nice, I was expecting the bathroom to be more modern but it was ok. The restaurant and food really nice, the staff really kind. Breakfast was good, however I would like we didn’t have to pay for the fresh coffee made for the barista.

Beautiful property, landscaping and colonial feel. Reception smells so nice. Lovely big beds, so comfortable, and there were big leather chairs to relax in, in each room. Air conditioning great. Large bathroom.

The pool was out of action until April and we were there on a very hot day when we would have loved to have had a swim. Also the bar fridges are not very big or effective. People travelling through often have supplies they want to keep cool. Some plates and bowls would also have been a helpful addition to the usual cups/spoons.

We visited there for my birthday celebration. 😊. The location was a convenient 3-5 minute drive from the two places we wanted to visit - Sovereign Hill, and The Ballarat Wildlife Park. We had dinner in the restaurant, and breakfast the following morning. The food was superb, and the staff were wonderful. Our room (a courtyard facing King) was quiet, clean and comfortable. We will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Can’t fault this place in any way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The room I stayed in had an undercover carpark, the beds and chairs were very comfortable. The grounds were land well kept and lovely to wake up to.

Mother Nature sent a spider to greet me in the bathroom in the morning “ not a spider person” Other than that… the only thing was arriving late, even though I had a map. I felt disorientated- being so dark. Signs / arrows with room numbers would be helpful.

Breakfast was great. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Room was convenient to get to with easy parking. Bed was large and I liked that it was a bit firm.

Bed was made up by to singles beds and creaked when I went to sit up. Arm chairs looked very tired and needed to be recovered with more stuffing. Water pressure for the toilet was low needing to be flushed twice. Hot water was not consistent. Brighter lighting as room looked too dark.
