Bell Tower Inn

Staff are very helpful and friendly, rooms are huge, lots of storage space and handy little kitchenette type area, bathroom's are nice and some rooms with a bath/spa! Heater works well in room. The indoor heated pool and spa is amazing!! I'm yet to try the attached restaurant but I've heard nothing but good things about it! Seriously wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else in Ballarat anymore 10/10 !!

The following mentioned things arent complaints TV'S are basic plasmas, shower heads aren't the greatest nor the worst, pressures good to but a removable shower head would make it perfect 👌

The fridge/freezer door would shut so had to get down on my knees and get a knife and chisel all built up ice away so that the fridge door would shut properly. It would be good if cleaning staff could check this sort of thing when cleaning each room. Meal was delivered to room in a box and only was given a steak knife and no fork, walked over to get a fork but was given a wooden fork to eat our steak with and had to complain to management to give a proper fork to eat with. The meal was lovely but by the time the Dian sauce sunk into the cardboard we felt like we were eating porterhouse steak and cardboard for tea.

I was blown away with the customer service, couldn't get better. My trip was delayed by the amount of traffic on the motorway and I was getting a bit stressed about making it before reception closed. However, I got a call to ask how I was going and was relieved to be told my room number and that the key would be in the room for me, whatever time I arrived. So trusting. And the heater was on so room was nice and cosy when I finally got there!

I wish the bath tub didn't have such a big step down to get in, it looked lovely and was huge but I had to give it a miss (old knees).

Location was great and we were really surprised at the spacious rooms, cleanliness of the rooms and ease of access. Beds were very comfortable with crisp white sheets. We came in late and the instructions were very clear - no problems getting into our room. I love the fact there was fresh milk for coffee instead of annoying little individual serves. The place was quiet and the full block out drapes ensured the utside lights didnt keep us awake. certainly a place we would stay at again.

Looked the rooms, they were spacious and clean. Property had ample parking space and the pool was clean and well maintained. The attached restaurant also provided a good spread for dinner (we only tried dinner)

May just the spa in the bathroom, was not operational for which the property had put a notice in the room, that it can be used only as bath tub, but the spa vents were not cleaned well, as when we filled water in it, the dirt came out in the water and was dirty to use, though they had a sticker placed mentioned the spa was cleaned, which definitely was not the case.

….parking site for room 38 was too small ….hot tap in shower needs new washer ….did not like having to give license details and credit card details when we had already paid in advance (in these days of identity theft, accumulation of data seems an unnecessary risk and surely a car Reg No. would be adequate). Girl on Reception claimed that this was an accepted practice, but not in our experience. We felt it was an unacceptable invasion of privacy!

Decor a little outdated but not too bad, very clean, certainly all in all good value for money. Very friendly staff, great meals at Fat Chef. Great communication. Features a sweet internal courtyard area with a small seating area in the middle. Lovely!

A couch in our room would have made us more comfortable. Staff says not all numbers have them, but it would make sense to somewhere to relax at night in front of the telly. Beds are a bit awkward to watch telly off. We stayed in the pet friendly room, very nice.

The place is old and in need of a bit of love but impeccably clean. The gardens are lovely. Staff are friendly and attentive.

Breakfast was a disappointment ... the food was over cooked near to burnt. No water in the urn for coffee no milk no butter ... all provided when asked for. Cereal spoons were in a dirty tray. Peaches had yoghurt spilled in it and replacement was denied.

The staff were lovely and friendly, very warm and welcoming. The room was cosy and comfortable with lot's of creature comforts to make our stay a pleasant one. We had a delicious meal at the hotel restaurant- The Fat Chef, which was very reasonably priced. Also, we had to check out early for family reasons and the staff were incredibly helpful and offered to refund us for the night we didn't stay.

The pool is in need of a deep clean, on our second day there we noticed there was a lot of food rubbish left around the pool. But the water itself was nice and warm, a great facility to have.

Rooms were generous in size and beds super comfortable. Pool facilites were excellent. Would definitely stay again. The Fat Chef Restaurant offered a variety of meals and they are huge. Would absolutely eat there again. Staff where lovely and very accommodating.

Buffet Breakfast was cold on both days. Overall a simple correction needed, but staff were lovely. Some works needed on the outside, but given Covid restrictions in the last two years, we had a great 2 night stay.
