Wynnum Anchor Motel

Although obviously built a little while ago, our room was very clean and comfortable (to be honest, it put some of the newer places in Brisbane city and around Qld that we have stayed at to shame ,with what was supplied in the room to, and most importantly for me, cleanliness!!). Whilst only booked as a standard motel room, it was very well equiped with: small fridge, microwave, a full range of crockery & cutlery, cork screw, ice cube tray, nice hot showers, and more. The managers were friendly, helpful and down to earth. We had stayed here previously and will certainly stay here again and will definitely recommend The Wynnum Anchor Motel to others !!

Nothing really, but if I had to say something it would be the bathroom was a little chilly. (Winter). Whilst main room had reverse cycle air con, bathroom had an exhaust fan attached to the light & small .permanent screened opening above the window. But again, common in motel bathrooms.

It is an older style motel with basic bed area, table and chairs, TV etc in one room and a small bathroom. However everything was neat and clean and nicely presented. The staff/family owners were warmly welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was excellent...just 2 homesites from Moreton Bay and the area nice and quiet particularly at night with very little passing traffic. Just a few minutes from cafes, shops and a weekend market. I'd definitely stay there again.

From the time of contact , I received good communication and in a friendly professional manner. I was greeted with a smile and helped with my bags , information regarding the local area ,it’s points of interest and places to eat shop ect was relayed to me at check in and proved to be valuable information on my stay . Great hosts and beautiful room . I would recommend for any traveler

Honestly nothing I did not like

Booking in was easy, owner greeted us with a big smile and lots of help, advice and guidance. On the morning we were to depart, the owners allowed us to stay with our room until they had to clean it. We were the last to check out at midday. The lovely owners couldn’t have been friendly or helpful. We would love to return.

No fault of the owners, but there was limited places open to eat within walking distance but they suggested a Thai place 10 minutes walk away which was very nice.

Location was perfect for us a family of 5. Being a small Motel further along off the Esplanade, it was nice and quiet. We booked the twin and triple deluxe rooms. Very spacious and clean. The owners Sam and his wife were very welcoming.

Not much to dislike but if I’m being picky, being from the South, we were not used to the early morning sun. Particularly for the deluxe twin, an outside window awning or blockout curtains inside in conjunction with the roller blinds, would have been great.

Location, peaceful and quiet. Proprietors very friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and suited our requirements. No stairs and no tricky slopes. Car park spaces were adequate. Appreciated the curtains covering the door as well as the window.

Just a great place to stay, as really silent area, no road traffic. etc., just 20m to walk to the waterside and enjoy a extended walk there. Wynnum is a quite cool residential area. Excellent place to stay if one enjoys calm and silence. I stayed in a executive suite, big room, well equipped, clean and top condition, super comfortable king bed.

The location. The motel is effectively "on the water" of the Wynnum Esplanade. A great place to be, also a few minutes from our family we were visiting as well as the full array of shops and cafes of Wynnum and Manly. Glenys the Manager was excellent, patient, friendly and helpful. These are the reasons we have already booked for a return stay.

No dedicated reception staff, but they always put a sign of when someone will be available at the reception

The perfect place for us to stay while we visited our daughter and her family, who live in Wynnum. Great location by the sea, quiet, good facilities and very hospitable managers.
