Kingsford Smith Motel

An easy walk of about 500m across to the Hamilton waterfront area for dinner at a selection of various restaurants and cinema, as well as breakfast at the Yellowish Cafe. Elevator made access to our floor with luggage easy. Rooms well appointed and the little touches of chocolate and free water shows the more friendly than overly commercial feel that management seems to be aiming at. Has been a while since we travelled so our appreciation on pricing is still several years behind, but for what is offered in this area, this motel is very comparable. We stayed here several years ago and the place is significantly higher standard of presentation and and cleanliness to then. Will be returning.

What I wrote to the staff: I have to say the motel is the best one I’ve stayed in yet in the 14yrs I’ve been in Australia! I’d be pernickety and look at the details of a place such as corners of bathrooms or bedrooms. Yours was very well kept and felt very comfortable at every where I was there. Reception you meet and great no matter my attire or culture. Very welcoming and nice! I must say please keep it up what you do as it was very very refreshing! I will certainly be putting your Accomdation in prime position for the rest of my company needs! Hope to return some day

Managers were very friendly and always happy to help. Same as last time we stayed, it was in a great location. Close to Hamilton and Ascot shops and close to pinkenba cruise terminal and a short drive to the airport. Was able to take use of the free airport shuttle from the motel. Room and motel in general presenting very neat and tidy, the pool looked amazing but was to cold to hop in at this time of year. This is our go-to place to stay when we visit Hamilton or Brisbane 10/10 always recommended.

The bed was a bit hard on my back but otherwise good. Plenty of pillows and blankets bed was well made and had extra pillows and a blanket in the cupboard. The people in the room before ours were a bit noisy until late at night, talking and laughing loud so I had trouble getting to sleep, but that's nothing to do with the quality of the room.

Stayed one night for a 14 hour layover, location was great 10-15 min drive from the airport and the CBD. 5 minute walk from the Wharf where we grabbed dinner and some snacks from IGA. Check In process was really nice and personal with the staff. Room was clean and as expected.

Our room safe didn't work, but for a one night stay it didn't affect us specifically. The bathroom is small with the toilet very very close to the sink. There is also a small step into the bathroom that both my wife and I both stubbed our toes on going in a few times.

Cam and Helen provided excellent customer service from the moment I arrived to the last second seeing me off at the cruise terminal. My room was comfortable , bed and linens cozy and my big thing. shower water pressure , was fantastic. I arrived 8 hours before formal check in, when I asked to store my luggage I was met with a warm welcome and the best news that my room didn’t sell the night before so I was able to check in right away. I was so happy. I had coffee from the in room coffee station. bottled waters left in the fridge for me and some chocolate candy in a cute dish. I arrived on Good Friday and Helen was thoughtful to direct me to where I could go get a bite, this before I took off on my own.

I can’t come up with any negative aspect of my stay there.

What a terrific find this Motel is, for anyone wanting or needing to be near Brisbane Airport or just visiting Brisbane and needing a great place to stay!! Excellent buses - get a Go Card from a station first - nearby, in different directions, linking with trains and ferries, which all take the Go Card, as you tap in and out each time. Helen runs the hotel magnificently, always helpful and going the extra mile. Easy to access and vacate rooms out of hours, if you arrive or leave then. Room was a great size, with two showers in the one large shower cubicle (a first for us!) and everything very clean and comfortable. Free parking on site for one vehicle.

Nothing provided could have been better (that's pretty exceptional!). Plenty fine eating places down at the wharf next to the river (right out of the hotel entrance and then left at the lights and keep going), but breakfast and even a restaurant could be a good addition for anyone with mobility difficulties or other disability who cannot easily walk to the nearest restaurant.

We were looking for a convenient hotel for a stopover before an early morning flight and picked this motel mainly for convenience. However what a gem; the rooms were stylishly decorated, spotless and very comfortable. As if that wasn’t enough the main asset of this motel was the couple that manage the place; friendly, very helpful and nothing was too much bother. They even dropped us at the airport in the morning. They recommended we visit ‘Eat Street’ which is a 15 minute walk from this hotel; a perfect place for a hungry family.

It is very rare to find a family motel room, and especially with two separate rooms to accommodate a group. There was complimentary milk and water provided. The rooms were nice, comfortable and clean with a TV in each. The staff were friendly and offered to drive us to Eat Street in their shuttle. The beds were comfortable and our stay was good value in a handy location for us.

Not a big deal at all, but one bed lamp was not working. I let them know when we were checking out and they said they'd look at it straight away.

The motel was easy to find and had ample parking spots. The room was beautiful. Our fridge was restocked with water each day and biscuits were replenished each day as well, beautiful touch, thank you. We checked in after hours which was an easy and quick process. Great motel all around.

The room must have been updated and newly refurbished in the last couple years but the bathroom was a little bit dated. Our shower water control handle was somewhat broken. But this didn’t spoil our stay. We would definitely stay again.

Although the Kingsford Smith Motel is situated on the corner of 2 very major roads, you would not know. The rooms are incredibly quiet and we were not disturbed by traffic noise at all. Entrance to the property is easy and well signed and the staff that greeted us were very friendly and helpful. The managers take a lot of pride in the presentation of the property - the rooms very meticulously clean and tidy and we felt welcomed with Lindt chocolates for the family (we booked a 2 bedroom family suite). We stayed before an early morning flight and access to the airport from here is easy. We would definitely stay again.
