Hampton Inn & Suites Cincinnati / Uptown - University Area

We were treated well by most but not all of the staff. We especially enjoyed the gentleman who tried to fix the mistakes made by the front desk and the lady who made sure we were served a good breakfast each morning. The hotel shares a parking area with a first-rate restaurant (awesome Peach Margarita).

Sloppy work by one of the front desk staffers meant we were initially given a room not ready for occupancy and required us to go back and forth to the front desk more than once to obtain a pass card that actually opened the door of our second room.

*Rooms were clean but had stains on furniture and walls and multiple spots that appeared to be wax on one of the chairs. *Toilets too close to the ground *Lots of hallway noise (None of the above issues was a dealbreaker. I’ve stayed there 3 times and will again. I just expect better attention to detail from a member of the Hilton family.)

On top of having a clean, quality breakfast area, I was very impressed with a gentleman named David. He greeted me and my family immediately as we entered the lobby with a warm smile and thanked us for staying with them. He made sure to tell us if we needed anything we were to ask him and he’d do whatever he could to make us happy. We engaged in a conversation for the reason for us staying in Cincy (our son’s surgery) and he was genuinely concerned for him. He hooked us up with a great parking spot. He was a big reason we came back (surgery had to be rescheduled). Just a super nice guy.

My room was comfortable with nice amenities. The refrigerator was helpful as well as the microwave. The towels were nice and fluffy and the bed was comfortable and the hot breakfast was nice. 

The front lobby could use some sprucing up. The eating area was nice and the rooms and hallways were fine too but the lobby desk and lobby area and elevator area were quite worn down. It also would have been nice to have an almond milk option at breakfast. 

It’s was a convenient location to our destinations. It’s very close to the Zoo and not a far drive to the aquarium. There are plenty of restaurants close and Kroger.

They charge $9 for each vehicle that parks at the hotel. Plus upon check-in I was charged an additional $50 per room that I wasn’t aware of that was returned back to my card after checking out minus the $9 parking fee

I liked the breakfast and most of the staff were friendly and able to answer questions as well as greeted us when we entered and exited the hotel. The fact that the hotel was so close to the university and we were able to walk to it as well as walk around the town.

Some were very rude. My biggest problem was that in our 3 day stay we had to pay for parking and our room was never cleaned. meanwhile the maintenance crew was on our floor since the morning very early, down the hall for hours, because we went and came hours later. They never even made it to our room. That was the only thing that disappointed me because we had a lot of trash, and not enough towels, nor toiler paper.

location was within 15 mins of everywhere we needed to go. easy in easy out. David the manager was very attentive , helped us with any questions we may have had. all staff were kind, friendly , helpful. hotel was very clean ! beds comfortable , spacious rooms!! very close to zoo! best Mexican restaurant right at end of parking lot with smokin’ margaritas !

Loved the breakfasts. They had lots of variety. Also the staff was super friendly. Marvin was attentive and very kind. I also enjoyed the fitness center. The kids loved the oversized checkers in the lobby.

A few things were out of order when we first arrived such as the elevator, a treadmill, and the pool. The pool did open the next day. They weren't the hotel's fault, but were a little inconvenient.

We liked the staff diversity, attentiveness and helpfulness, as well as property location. One great example was when there was a light bulb out in the business center and it was fixed quickly and with a smile from teh staff.

The business center was very small and still very dark. Also the breakfast was "OK" for the most part. The fiesta omelets where an absolute low point. Also the broken waffle machine was a disappointment for teh kids.

The pool was clean and somehow empty when we wanted to use it, I absolutely loved that. The apple juice in the complimentary breakfast was nice. Some of the staff were super friendly and outgoing. Good location, near everything we wanted to do. Very clean in terms of hotels

Weird parking lot. Staff was really hit or miss in terms of friendliness. Prices weren't clear originally (understood after asking but wasn't told about holding fee up front).
