Castle Inn

Castle Inn is in a beautiful location across the ocean with activities and places to eat within walking distance. Love the seating in front that allows you to see the sunset in comfort. The inn itself is well maintained with upgrades in progress. The room was clean and so comfortable that we slept in and missed breakfast. The front desk staff is very helpful and offered extra coffee, toiletries and beach towels.

The pool, jacuzzi and fire pit are being remodeled but am looking forward to coming back to enjoy the amenities. So far the remodel is looking great; the materials being used for the upgrade are top grade.

Easy check in, clean place. Chairs outside so you can view the ocean and watch the sun set or walk right across the street to the beach. Property provided muffins, oatmeal, apples and coffee each morning in the office lobby. in room microwave, refrigerator (no freezer section) and Kurig coffeemaker. The beds were comfortable and the room had two chairs and long table which we were able to use to eat takeout and was fine for us since it was only two of us in the room. nice vanity area in the room so one person could do makeup while the other person was in the bathroom showering. Currently no maid service during your stay but doesn’t bother me in the least. I’d rather not have anyone come into my room ever during a hotel. Cambria stores and dining close up between 8-9pm so make sure you get dinner early, stock up bring your beer/wine etc to enjoy in your room.

The TV was not that big but adequate enough, it was flat screen but pretty much was basic tv channels (no Netflix etc) so not the most useful.

Hotel is located between a busy main road and coast front road. Traffic is only heard with windows open. All room access is from outside. No elevator to second level. Parking and wi-fi included in price. Breakfast is very limited but appreciated; coffee, fruit, scones. View of ocean was accurate although not directly facing ocean and across a street. Rooms over look the hotel parking lot. Room appeared to be newly remodeled which was quite nice considering price was less than other hotels in the area for ocean view. There was a propane fire pit with Adirondack chairs. Pool was visible but under construction. Overall would return for a weekend to be at the coast.

Large window to room is nice to see ocean however, balcony runs length of the building in front of all the windows; not very private.

our fourth stay here. We love it as comfortable, affordable and right on the coast.

We like all about the inn. But we arrived early for check in as it’s a long drive so we never really know time of arrival. Also we invited my handicapped sister from San Fran area so longer drive for them. We accepted would have to wait for rooms to be cleaned. So we sat by pool, sat, sat, sat. We could see maid cleaning other rooms next ours. As it got to 3 we still were not in our rooms! We needed restroom of course. Seems since office knew we were on property maid could have shifted a bit and readied our room ahead of others not even there. We are seniors, it was a bit uncomfortable and awkward. Finally got in ours 2 rooms by like 3:20 after waiting outside over 2 hours! Didn’t seem to be any effort by staff to help us out much.

The owners must have recently spent a lot of money and took great care to update this property. Both the exterior and our room were in great shape and nicely decorated with lovely vegetation and sitting areas outside. Great location very close to town and across from the beach and boardwalk.

Looks like there may have been a hot tub at one time but it’s no longer operating. Breakfast provided in the front office was minimal but adequate for us since we also had brought some of our own breakfast items and utensils. We used the microwave in the room. Nearby restaurants recommended by the receptionist were extremely busy with wait lists so we went into town and had a very enjoyable dinner at Linn’s.

My stay was wonderful. I was to stay in room 18 but checkin ran out after me and changed me to room 28 with a much better view. The room was wonderful, clean and everything I needed. The view was wonderful! A short walk to the beach. A light breakfast was provided. Great location! Price was reasonable compared to everyone else and the hotel had two stories which provided much better views. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We have stayed at Castle Inn in the past because of its ideal location on Moonstone beach in Cambria. In the past year, however, they have completely remodeled the entire facility with all new plumbing and electrical. The bathrooms are beautiful and much more functional. Also, the new electrical allows microwaves, coffee and refrigerators in the rooms. The beds are new and king size. As always, we loved walking along the beach boardwalk looking for sea lions, seal, or whales. It was a great stay.

Their breakfast area is being used for storage during the renovation. Meanwhile breakfast is muffins, fresh fruit and coffee picked up from the office. Some juice would be nice.

The staff, super nice! The room was wonderful! Recently remodeled, clean, fresh, very comfortable bed, lots of puffy pillows! The bathroom was really nice, loved the shower!! The room was very nicely decorated, darling, warm, comfortable, welcoming! The lighting was awsome! Great views of the ocean! We could not have asked for more! We are looking forward to staying again... very soon! Thank you, Castle Inn!

Just one suggestion, only one... sheer curtains behind the main curtains. Sheers that you can see through from the inside, but other guests walking by your window can't really see in.

Beautiful location, clean, gorgeous, updated rooms, excellent facilities and great staff. We will definitely be returning. Great little seating area with a fire pit where you can sit and enjoy the view. We had a couple drinks with friends out there during our visit and we were able to be a little loud without bothering anyone - so the seating area is a little private. The rooms are clean, upgraded and gorgeous. The bed was super comfy, plenty of pillows and I slept excellent.

I wish I could have stayed longer! I hate that I had to leave!

Great location. Directly across the street from ocean with unobstructed views. Only a 2 minute walk to a delicious restaurant. Room was comfy. Clean and looked newly remodeled. I would definitely stay again

The only downside to the room is that the walls are thin. We were downstairs and could hear every footstep made above us. Not a deal breaker but next time would try to get an upstairs room if possible.
