Best Western Kilima Hotel

Super comfy bed and a decent size. The room was spacious and had a decent bathroom with a bath. Staff were polite and helpful, quick check in and showed me to my room. They even phoned me a few hours after I checked out to let me know housekeeping had found my tablet in the room and they were safely storing it for me. No outside noise and couldn't hear cars leaving despite having my window next to the car park entry and exit. I left too early to experience the pool or breakfast so cannot comment there.

You could slightly hear the pipes of the room next door when they were running water but wasn't noticeable and I could have shut the bathroom door to block the noise. The car park is down a small hill next to the building. There is a space at the front for a car but it constantly had a car parked in it. Would be good if this was a drop-off space only so that you could drop off your bags or someone who struggles with walking at the entrance.

Good sized, clean rooms. Fantastic breakfast, staff were very welcoming and attentive. Pool was an extra bonus too, kids loved it. Towels provided. Tea and coffee available to help yourself to. Location was good, about a 20 minute walk to York centre with lots of pubs and restaurants on the walk in.

Though the hotel is very clean and well looked after, some parts look a little tired as it is an older hotel. I believe there is work upcoming in the future though. Swimming lessons coming in on the tail end of our pool slot was a little disappointing and made it tight for space in the small changing room. Had we been informed of this we would have changed our slot to avoid this.

Friendly staff with only a 5 minute walk from the city walls. Fairly quiet area and surprising amenities. Not state of the art but has an old charm to it. Breakfast and bar on site with ample room to sit and chill out.

The rooms were unusually warm compared to the entrance. I think this is due to the swimming pool under the ground floor keep the rooms above humid. Fans or AC is needed to help this in especially warm nights. Plugs next to the beds is something I would have expected.

a little hidden gem...staff were excellent and extremley friendly couldnt do enough. management team where great. breakfast was perfect freshly cooked and done to order well worth the extra payment. room was comfy and very clean throughout. swimming pool if wanted was brilliant. A well run family hotel.....walk into town 20 to 30 min.....Bus route straight outside hotel.....Taxi five to six pounds.....A BIG thankyou to all the staffNothing

The room I stayed so cosy. It also had a swimming pool that I can spend time as my leisure.

The toilet paper so cheap and tacky. Also the toilet holder seem to loose that it does hold up well. The heater not working properly that I ended up coughing noiselessly in the night and felt restless. Same breakfast everyday for three nights as it was not buffets style. It would be great if they can add different kinds of pastries such as croissant, muffin. A slice of different of cheese as well.

The pool was lovely, Staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. Sound proofing and blackout curtains excellent.

Shame steam room out of order. Four poster bed was very high and a bit cramped. My wife rang the hotel after I dislocated my shoulder to ask if we could upgrade to a king size or twin room. She was told that the bed was king size but was not the case. We paid £20 extra to secure a smoke free room only to discover that the hotel was completely non smoking.

This place was perfect! I'd come for a night away with my son (aged 11) and we needed somewhere relatively close to the centre but also my sons bonus ask was for a possibility of a swimming pool! This had both! The staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful with guidance on the area etc. The breakfast was gorgeous! The place itself felt homely, warm and clean. The walk to the centre is about 10-15 mins walk, not far from the train station if you are arriving by train too. I will definitely be staying there again next time we visit York.

We loved this hotel, it is older but really comfortable, clean rooms, plenty of space and friendly chatty staff. Excellent breakfast, lovely full English. (Other options available). Swimming pool was lovely. Bus stop across road but it was nice walking into town. Thanks everyone ☺

I liked everything, but being picky, I would have liked them to have had some meal options in the evening, but that is currently not an option, which is a shame as its a beautiful dining room.

Room - not in perfect condition, but more "homely" because of it; the entire atmosphere was of a very good family run B&B which is a massive bonus in a "chain" hotel! Breakfast - excellent, cooked to perfection and very tasty. Location - excellent, easy walk to city centre or racecourse. Staff - very friendly and helpful, creating that family run atmosphere - maybe because they are a family!

The restaurant was closed - I suspect because Covid made the industry so difficult. However, there are many excellent restaurants within a 10 minute amble, so plenty of choice.

Ideally situated for Station, City centre and Racecourse. I cannot praise the staff and manager high enough. So friendly, nothing too much trouble. Room spacious, clean and comfortable, mabe a little bit dated. Hair dryer, fan, iron and ironing board in room (not listed in room facilities). Breakfast was lovely, amazing value for the cost. Served quickly and piping hot by friendly staff. Will definitely be returning.
