The Chedburgh

Great location, and the bed was very comfortable. The shared bathroom and toilet were spotless. The host was lovely and check- in and out was easy and stress-free. The room was a good size, with an in-room sink, which made not having a private bathroom much easier. There was also excellent communication from the hosts when Booking.com was sending me odd messages after I requested to extend my stay, which the hosts accepted and sorted out almost immediately, but the Booking.com system rejected it.

The main thing was that there was only a small window so it was really difficult to cool the room down.

Location was ideal for the Metro. Also good for a stroll along to Cullercoats, our main destination for the weekend. Tea and hot chocolate on tap, so to speak, big telly on the wall to wind down with. Didn't see a soul while I was there (my check-in was done by phone) so it was really quiet. The accommodation was outstanding for the fee, I would look here first if I come back this way.

The sole thing missing from my particular room was shower gel from the dispenser. Good thing I had some facewash with me - it's not just for faces!

Location close to everything beach at bottom of road restaurants and bars within 15 mins. Room perfect as a base bed comfy satellite staff but always at hand fantastic place to chill

Parking we found troublesome albeit not the owners fault at the time of trip there was a new building being built and roads being re surfaced so we had to move car at least twice a day

The rooms were very clean, and the owner was very approachable when I needed help. The location was excellent and the other guests were very friendly, as was the housekeeper.

There was no issues with my stay, it was very relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Chedburgh and it was excellent value for money.

The Chedburgh was a brilliant place to stay! We visited this weekend for our little girls first trip to the seaside and the hosts could not have been any friendlier and any more accommodating to us, each and every thing we needed they provided, we was in a great location, the b&b and our bedroom and en-suite were very clean, tidy and comfortable. Thankyou for having us, we can’t wait to come back again soon!

Very great hotel, beautiful side view on the sea, I loved the atmosphere ! The hotel is owned by a very nice family, always available, always kind, and happy to welcome their guests ! There is netflix and a lot of channels on TV. The bed was really comfy. You can even order english breakfast (extra cost)

Breakfast was well cooked, flavoursome and well presented. Host offered variables ie scrambled egg, fried eggs. Offered multiple options for myself as a vegetarian. We could choose from breakfast cereals, pastries and yoghurts. Simply put; we were spoilt for choice! Rooms were well presented, tidy & tastefully decorated. Hosts were very engaging, friendly and attentive, Made you feel welcome. We had a mixture of ages in our party from elderly to teenagers. We all enjoyed our stay.

We had no cause to complain nor criticise this establishment. Very professionally run.

the venue is good, clean, comfortable and bang in the middle of town. You can see the beach from the front door. The contact we had with their the venue team were nice, courteous and entirely automated - which was odd

I thought there was breakfast with the booking - a smidge pricey without breakfast. Ensuite was tiny.

Greeted by very pleasant proprietor, straightforward check-in. Twin room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Spoke to the housekeeper and standards seem very high which is a big plus for me. Lovely refurbished shared bathroom with Covid measures in place. I'm always weary about what the bed/mattress is like when I stay in different guest houses & hotels but I slept very well in the Chedburgh so no probs on that front. Perfect location, was just a few minutes from train station and a few minutes to the sea front. Local shops less than five minutes away. Good choice of local bars and restaurants again just 5 - 10 mins walk away. Overall a very pleasant stay.

No negatives to be honest.

Great location, lovely owner, spotless and nicely decorated room and bathroom, lovely old building, newly decorated, plush carpets. I was a bit unsure about sharing a bathroom but it was very clean, had a good spacious shower, and there was an extra separate toilet anyway. I didn't have the breakfast. Easy to check in and out. Would stay again.

Unfortunately I was woken up very early on a Sunday morning by fire doors banging, no soundproofing, and/or perhaps some inconsiderate guests!? Toilet lid didn't stay up in shared bathroom and shower door tricky to stay shut. Minor, fixable things.
