Superb location, very quiet, and very cosy rooms.

Breakfast week days finishes at 8 a.m. This was possibly a little too early for people on a leisurely break. Perhaps a 9 a.m. finish. (Saturdays and Sundays breakfast finishes at 9:30 a.m.)

We chose this above a hotel because of location, cost and reviews. It is set in the lovely district of Jasmine, only 20 mins walk into town, 5 mins to the Metro and 5 mins to a Waitrose, and several nice eateries. We had a cheery welcome by Steve who was so helpful and friendly throughout our 4 night stay. The bedroom was spotless, including under the beds where various items seem to roll. A lovely breakfast with various choices on the cooked menu and real cafetière coffee. Delicious. We will make this our base now when visiting our friends again.

Great family business and it felt like home. Very welcoming and the whole family are amazing. The details in the room was fantastic, tea/coffee/sugar in a proper pot. Quality Toilet Tissues and Shower Gel & Bath Mat is rear at most hotels nowadays. My Breakfast Buddies were all Great North Runners who are coming back next year, looking forward to seeing each other. Loved Young Abi who brought our breakfast orders in, great customer services. Lovely to see young ones start working and gaining life skills early in life, A big appreciation to Mum and Dad. 10/10 Recommendation from me.

It’s in an excellent location, town is only a mile away and can also get into the heart of Newcastle via the Metro as it’s just a 15 minute walk from the venue and across the road from venue is the cricket ground for Newcastle & nearby country of Northumberland and is a function suite too.

Since me and a friend shared a room after some error with booking system which gave me £25 less to pay as well my friends with the weather being so warm between us for me we weren’t given enough towels in my opinion and weren’t bulky enough for my body personally.

I liked the hospitality of the owners along with the comfort and freshness of the room with the added bonus of new carpet and a brilliant shower. The hosts were always available on the mobile phone; we were able to leave our luggage early in the morning, even though booking was at 3pm. Good wholesome breakfast with a wide choice from cereals, fruit, jams, toast, English breakfast fry, tea or coffee.

My room was well-aired and spacious for a single room. It was clean and supplied with coffee, tea bags, little capsules and a kettle for making tea/coffee The room a hairdryer, an ensuite shower and bathroom. It was quiet. There was a choice of cooked breakfast and vegetarian breakfast, toast, cereal, fruit juice, tea and coffee. the dining room was immaculate and overall there was a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

One guest opposite my room who slammed his door loudly when he came in. That was a bit disturbing but otherwise, there was nothing to dislike.

Stayed for a couple of nights for first weekend in July. In nice area with some nice pubs, bars and places to eat not very far away at all and local Jesmond area quite lively at night. Also there is the cricket club right next to the B&B which is nice to visit and stop for a pint. And city centre is walking distance away. Steve was a great host and a good guy with lots of helpful tips and advance/guidance on places to eat and drink etc locally. Good value for money with nice clean rooms. I would definitely stay again.

There was nothing that I didn't like.

Staff were friendly and the room and breakfast was good value for money in Newcastle. The metro isn't too far and there's pubs and food within a 10min walk. Overall the room was a comfortable stay.

The shower was mostly cold or lukewarm, it took a few minutes to warm up but even then it wasn't hot. Throughout the 2 night stay it went warmer for 10mins once. Also the room isn't very soundproofed, we could hear all the foot traffic from check-in and breakfast time.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I misheard the instructions I was given on the phone by the owner, so didn't put the parking permit he left out for me in the window of my car, in the morning he had brought me a ticket so I didn't get a parking fine. In the end £2 for two days parking can't be sniffed at!

The toilet seat in the room wasn't fixed correctly, so I had to put it in position each time I used it. I forgot to mention this to the owner. If he is reading this, apologies for not doing so. There were two keys for my room, and I assumed that one was for the front door, but neither of them would open it, this I did mention on checkout.

The room was very comfortable, and had everything I needed. There was a good choice for breakfast, the staff were helpful and friendly. Located in a quiet area of the city, but only a short walk to either the city centre or the metro station. A very good value place to stay, and I would happily return the next time I'm in Newcastle.
