Smiths Hotel

location was perfect and staff were concensious. friendly. smart and easy to chat too.

room and shower were abit small for us as we both have mobility issues with our joints and found it difficult to move around the room, shower was small as we are abit on the large size but more importently for us there was no hand rails in the shower to grip incase you slipped and fell, the ventalator didn't work in our bathroom as it looked like it needed cleaning or it was broken as they are supposed to come on when you switch on the bathroom light, as mine does when l go into my bathroom to use the loo or shower.

Great location, quiet room at the rear of hotel. Gentleman who greeted us at check in was so pleasant, also check in was quick. Lovely seating area outside for food/drinks. Fish and chips were huge and tasted great!

Room rather small, window would not lock, this was not good as we were ground floor. Hairdryer definitely no good for thick hair. Shower hard to use and very claustrophobic, TV small, not the end of the world as we were only there for 2 nights. Breakfast was ok, my husband's egg was undercooked (sausages lovely), would have liked some mushrooms also. We didn't want cereal, so it would have been nice to have had the basket of toast that came out with the breakfast with our tea/coffee so we could have had some with jam. Could not understand why everyone was seated in one area for breakfast when there was so much space at the other end of the restaurant.

Was very well kept and clean. The staff were welcoming and we had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have blackout curtains and blinds.

The breakfast was a little too expensive for what it was and the portions were too small. We would have preferred a buffet style thing for the cereal and coffees etc as we like to have more than one type. There didnt appear to be a continental option, ie croissants etc and the apple juice was not pure apple juice as expected but apple flavoured. We also had issues with the freeview TV as the picture was generally unwatchable due to constant glitches. There needs to be a better signal for the TV and for WiFi as this was also hit and miss.

Was a last minute decision to stay. It's location, has it's restaurant as well Nd the location is great for the seafront promenade. Comfy bed. Friendly staff Hot shower Thick large good quality towels Ensuite bathroom So very clean Great tea and coffee concept Lift if required Quiet room on the night I stayed Very modern and comfortable room (Room 117)

Tiny TV Breakfast - I wasnt asked if I wanted breakfast, as it had to be arranged the evening before; that was disappointing. There is a Wetherspoon 100yds from Smith's - but I'd have preferred to have eaten here. Probably time for different brand or just replace the pillows in the room.

The situation right on the sea front was great. The restaurant also has great views of the sea. The food was very good and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room and bed were comfortable and clean although a bit dated. I was very late arriving, 4am. After car trouble but we were waited on by the night porter who let us in.

The sink was not in the bathroom with the toilet and shower but across the room in the bedroom! I would have loved a sea view but I didn’t pay for one!

carpet dirty Shower seal needs replacing decorating could be touched apartment expensive and attention to detail required. Towels should be changed without request.

The position of the hotel is excellent with wonderful views over the bay. The outside eating areas were lovely, covered roof but mostly open on the sides, so protection from the rain with plenty of air circulating. We had one main meal in the evening, the food was very nice indeed with a good selection. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately there was no breakfast due to the breakfast chief leaving. Our room was ok but found it a bit small and even though everything had been cleaned the floor had not been hoovered so we requested someone to come and clean it and it was done straight away. We had a balcony which was nice with a table and chairs unfortnately the table was really dirty so we washed it ourselves and the roof next to our balcony was in a terrible state which is a shame, wouldn't have taken much to clean it up. We ate in the restaurant once, food was great but was quite expensive.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly nothing was too much trouble.

The sea view rooms were very small and the shower in the double room was so small you had to shower with the door open. The shower in the twin room was a bit bigger but didn’t really reach temperature, and there were no spare sockets so had to sacrifice the fan/ kettle or the lamp to be able to charge phones.

Room was great, staff very friendly and helpful, good bar, although a bit pricey, good entertainment Friday and Saturday.

No car parking facility, this was a bit of a bind as the convenient car park I found a bit pricey.

The hotel was a surprise the room was excellent a lot bet than I thought it would be I didn't use the other facility as I was going to a party staff were very friendly and polite thanks very much for a peaceful stay 10 out of 10

The only thing for me and its not a real dislike more of a suggestion could do with some exit signs as the hallways look the same and I got lost getting out More my fault than the hotel other than that it was a very good stay
