Very warm welcome at reception and warm cookies. The room (Junior Suite) was beautiful and clean. Great shower and very large bath. The bed was a large 6-foot bed on one mattress not two joined. Room service was prompt (breakfast). We ate dinner in the Macro Pierre White restaurant, which was spectacular. Great service, food arrived in good time and the quality of the meat was one of the best I have had. The staff at the Spa was friendly and the therapist was charming and provided a good back-neck and shoulder massage. There is a steam and sauna in the ladies changing room and a sauna in the men's.

We were up one floor from reception and the first door off the staircase, no one directed us there so we took the lift. The toilet had a vent that didn't work. The bed was very soft and any movement was felt. The cups provided in the room did not fit under the nozzle of the coffee maker, so you have to tilt and hold the cup while it is made. The continental breakfast was store-bought pastries, with no butter or jam provided with croissants. The "Spa" was a leisure centre with rooms for treatments. It was full of children. The treatment rooms were filthy. There was no after-care post-treatment. (No relaxation room or directions to one.) No slippers were provided.

We booked an accessible room and it was a reasonable size for moving around in a wheelchair. The room was clean and fresh and well supplied with tea and coffee etc. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom size was very good with everything needed to access the facilities from a wheelchair. There were a couple of issues in the room which the staff dealt with quickly and satisfactorily. Our room didn't have a view as such, just looked onto a side yard of the hotel but it was okay. The staff in reception and in the restaurants were extremely helpful and very friendly. The lift was ok, just big enough for one wheelchair and another person or possibly two at a squeeze. We ate in both on site restaurants, the steak house and the bistro, Bardolino's , which we hadn't realised was located in a separate part of the complex. The wheelchair access to that restaurant wasn't ideal - there was a lift but when you reach the floor to access the bistro, there was no signage to direct us and the corridors had several tall trolleys stacked with empty cardboard boxes to negotiate around to try to find where we needed to go - eventually a chef appeared and helped guide us through to the restaurant - that could definitely be improved as we felt the partly blocked corridors behind the kitchen are could also pose a fire risk. Plenty of parking on site (you do pay extra for the parking however). We didn't use any of the spa facilities on this occasion. The hotel is well located and we especially liked that you could open the windows.

The access and signage to the bistro in 'The Club' could be improved for accessibility. The drop off point at the hotel reception is on a steep slope so quite difficult to get a person with mobility issues out of the car, into a wheelchair and into the reception, perhaps another point of access on a more level area would be possible? I gave an overall 8/10 rating for these points really - for fully able people the access wouldn't be an issue but it's really helpful when hotels consider the needs of all guests ; there were several wheelchair users staying at the hotel when we were there and it's definitely something we have to consider when we're booking hotel accommodation or recommending to others.

Bought as a present for my sister - she had a really great time, loved the hotel, the room, the room service, the bathrobe, the bath, the breakfast, the Spa...

When booking this as a treat for my sister though, it was really difficult to get through to the Spa team. The hotel reception staff are super helpful but they can't do treatment bookings, which have to go via the Spa reception. This makes booking a room stay with a corresponding spa treatment package quite tricky, as the Spa gets booked up quickly, and you can lose out on the treatment you want while you wait for them to get back. (Consider not booking a non-flexible date for that reason). They could really do with a receptionist at the Spa, not just an answer machine! It's the one thing that lets down the overall experienice, which apart from that, was really great.

The setting is beautiful, we ate at bardillinos and the food was gorgeous, best pizza 😍…. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and went above and beyond ,pool facilities were lovley but the steam was out of use for our visit, the bar was really cool and had a good vibe too,

There were room service trays lefts in the corridors and on window seals in the corridors to the rooms with open food surrounded by flys and it was there for our whole duration of our stay - we stay from checkin 4pm until 11 am checkout next day and they were left there to rot, really let the hotel down as the rest was lovely, rooms were comfortable and clean, also who came up with the room signs - thought the single could be better we got lost quite a few times

The location was great, nice setting and clean. The spa and gym were very well equipped and would recommend that. Breakfast, very good value for money.

The bar menù was overpriced for the quality of the product. The steak s/w was literally steak, bread, and mustard. For Marco Pierre White, I felt very underwhelmed. This was also the case for lunch the next day, when i was informed it was worth booking as it gets fully booked quickly...we were the only table in the entire restaurant, which did spoil the experience. The food was ok, again slightly underwhelming. The staff were very attentive and extremely polite, the setting was lovely...but I was a little underwhelmed by the whole experience, especially as we were in Yatton in the pub who were really friendly and we left to go up for lunch. Should have stayed there...in hindsight

Restaurant food at Marco Pierre White lovely. Best steak and chips maybe ever! - Could have cut my steak with a spoon! Didn't expect the restaurant to be so good. Nice spa with sunbeds, decking and drinks areas too. Beautiful gardens. Old house looks fantastic and makes the setting. Very enjoyable stay.

Staff were struggling a bit at breakfast. - often the case in hotels. We watched someone who thought they were important and in charge seat a family only for someone else to seat another couple at the same table as soon as the others went to up to the buffet! Funny but not really! We'd asked for a couple of things which never arrived. No-one asked us if we'd like tea or coffee - we had to go and look for help. Also, waited to be seated and then just gave up and chose a table ourselves. Disorganized.

Everything was wonderful. Our weekend away was made very pleasant by wonderful staff, great food and a lovely atmosphere. The room we had was clean, tidy and comfortable. The decoration of the hotel was lovely. We will definitely be using this hotel again. Lovely experience.

Maybe the breakfast buffet being topped up a little more regularly for guests who arrived a little later in the morning. We could see other guests getting a little short with staff for not topping up the plate stand and making sure that the coffee machine was in working order. The breakfast its self was lovely! And again the staff were lovely.

Staff were incredible! So friendly, so helpful and so caring. Nothing was too much trouble. They even hand out warm cookies to bring smiles. Bed was beyond comfortable. Huge pillows and lovely thick duvet. Room was spacious and had all necessary amenities, even a bathrobe. Shower was great and I loved the scent of the toiletries provided. I also loved that they weren't single use disposable plastic bottles. So quiet! It's the quietest hotel I've experienced so far, blissful. So many charging points, really well thought out. Back to the staff though. The staff are truly what makes this hotel exceptional.

Lovely hotel in a partially historic building, making it a very charming choice for a romantic couple's weekend. The spa facilities are average to European standards but superb to British standards, and very enjoyable. There are options for good food in the hotel, but all are fairly pricey.

Bike storage is arranged ad-hoc which isn't very convenient, but staff did their best to help which was much appreciated. Spa amenities are pleasant, but the combination of sauna/steam room and pool in the same venue means that swim wear is mandatory in saunas, not as comfortable as it could be. Could also use some modernisation. There are 2 restaurants on site, both owned by the same guy who is thus running a monopoly business and artificially keeping the prices high. Spent £125 for a simple dinner for two, which was enjoyable but nothing out of the extraordinary quality-wise. Considering the already high room fee, dinner options with a higher value for money would be appreciated.

Location was good, lovely views and nice grounds. Breakfast and dinner was good. The free use of the spa facilities are a great bonus.

The room was very dark and a long way from reception and restaurant. Due to shortage of staff in the restaurant on Thurs eve there was a long wait for food. Also the toilet facilities in the restaurant have shared male & female cubicles and handwashing all in together, not appropriate.
