EXCELLENT service. Everyone was very helpful and professional, especially Gregor. He arranged and had our luggage moved when we wanted a sea view. When we were a little chilly, he brought a portable heater to our room, all with a nice smile and twinkling eyes. He did everything: helped to serve at the restaurant, the bar and hotel check in. The view from our room was beautiful. The hotel was very clean. The restaurant had great food. The bar had great variety. We could either have a drink there or bring the drink up to our room and enjoy the view.. It was a quick walk to get on the beach. We couldn’t have been happier with the selection of this hotel.

The staff at Number 44 were faultless. Went the extra mile to make our stay all the better. We had contacted the property ahead of schedule to ask for their help and they could not have done more! Thank you so much that. Michelle in the restaurant works tirelessly and keeps on smiling, a real asset to the hotel. Food was of a high standard, so good in fact we eat there both nights we visited. I would highly recommend this property if travelling to the area if only just for dinner.

When we return we will book earlier hopefully securing a better view over the sea, however this is a very minor point.

We had the most awesome view with the beach and sea just outside our window. It was wonderful sitting in the chairs at the bay window and having some wine. Listening to the surf at night was lovely. The included breakfast was he best we had in our visit to Scotland. Close to walk to the harbor for dinner. Make a reservaiton and make sure you get there before 9pm. We had dinner at the hotel one night and it was good. Unfortunately they had sold out of the Sunday Roast, but we ordered beef and ale pie and it was great.

No lift, but only one floor to go up so we were fine. You need to go into the bar and find someone to help you to check in. Not a big deal bu we arrived when the bar and restaurant were very full and loud.

Had the loveliest stay here for 2 nights. Very central, excellent food and exceptionally clean. Staff very friendly. We could hear the sea from our room which was lovely.

Only negative was that at breakfast time the staff member that was there was rushed off her feet. I think it would have been great to see two staff/servers at breakfast, especially for how busy it was. For our second morning we didn't get breakfast as it was far too busy. Not the staffs fault - she was so lovely! But definitely something for management to look into.

We never saw anyone in the reception area, no matter when we passed by, but the bar employees were very helpful. We liked the breakfasts. One of our rooms (#14) had a very nice view. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was quite nice and big.

It would have been helpful to have better information about parking. I would also have liked to be able to choose the rooms better, rather than having them chosen for me. One room had a great view, but the other did not and that lead to some disappointment.

I want to send a shout out to Lindsay who was so kind and welcoming when we arrived. She noticed that my young daughter was having difficulties being tired and hungry and she’s sure helped to change that for us. Her hospitality was excellent. The location is great and we were able to walk to all the places we wanted to go. The breakfast was amazing! All the staff were very kind.

I found it to be very noisy- the hallways/restaurant noise/doors closing and outside noise.

The room was very nice. Good size and a lovely view of the beach. The bed was very comfortable. We had an evening meal at the restaurant which was excellent. Really tast food which was served in a timely manner.

The table layout in the restaurant was a bit odd as we would end up facing other diners. The breakfast that is included was a little underwhelming after the delight that was the main meal the previous night. Not to say that it was bad but after the standards had beed set so high it was a tiny bit disappointing..

The hotel was so clean and staff were so helpful. The location of the hotel is great, our room had a lovely sea view which was a fab extra. The hotel is a central location to everything you need while staying in Stonehaven. The bed was so comfortable and we both had great sleeps while we stayed. Breakfast and dinner was also really nice and would recommend dining here.

I didn't like the parking, I know that's not something that can be fixed easily but we were driving around for a while before we could get parked both days that we were there that we grudged moving the car again because of the hassle of getting parked.so we ended up paying for parking in the car park both days as the struggle to get a street parking space was too much. We also found that our room got quite smelly after we showered of stale water and we weren't able to open any windows.

The rooms were small but they had been recently remodeled and the bed was very comfortable. The pub was a fairly popular place with the locals and was never empty. The restaurant food was very good. They had a limited menu for the free breakfast but the food was very good. The hotel is right on the beach. About a two mile hike one way along the ocean cliffs to a castle.

Not much to not like here. They did not have their own parking lot but street parking is free and unlimited. Got a spot in front of the restaurant and left the car there for two days. The lot across the street is free on Sunday and from 6pm-8am but charges after that. The bathroom had no counter space which will be difficult if you bring a lot of grooming items.

Great central location, very friendly staff and delicious Scottish breakfast all for a great price. Karen is a star, she welcomed us warmly and looked after us perfectly. Room 18 was compact but cosy and very comfortable. We could even see the sea from our window. We slept really well in a huge bed. Would be happy to stay there again any time 😊

Not a dislike, but it'd be great to have the restaurant menu and some local visitor information in the rooms, maybe a welcome to Number 44 information pack?
