The ambiance and surroundings also the room had everything one could possibly need and very comfy beds, perhaps some streaming tv might have added something.. My spa salt scrub was excellent and the pool magnificent. My therapist was really helpful and charming!,

Food in bistro (apart from room service fish and chips which were very good and ample and also breakfasts excellent). The dinner menu looked too expensive for us Confusion with signage as I don’t walk very far and was a problem. The hotel should make it clear that the spa and leisure club including marvellous swim pool are located together in the same building a little way away. I couldn’t find it at first then after asking around my daughter had to drive me round and even although there was a ramp down from car park but still there was a flight of stairs to the entrance. So accessibility as well as signage should be improved.

we loved our stay,

only downfalls was the Spa , not much of a spar really , needs a updating And there were also kids in the pool while we were there , we wanted to get a break from that considering my Mrs is a pool attendant and having Kids screaming shouting most of the day while we used the spa was not relaxing at all, they should put up a polite notice to say kids will be in the pool during the hrs of, but we spend nearly 2 hrs there and just had enough more relaxing in our room really , Signal on the TV was not up to much and no Netflix places we have stayed you can log into your own Netflix account. sorry but if you come in from a nice long walk there nothing better than to just kick back and watch Netflix.

The location is amazing. The old part of the building was stunning. Facilities, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were great. Rooms comfortable with ambient temperature. And dont worry, on these beds you will get a brilliant night's sleep Food was of high quality.

Breakfast was lovely but was so cramped around the buffet area. Prefer to have the tea, coffee, and toast brought to the table rather than having to queue, go back to the table and then queue again for breakfast, then queue again for toast. Tea cold by the time you get to drink it.. And why oh why do they use those toasters, rubbish. Only one sort of egg and no porridge - in Scotland!! Service in the evening was very poor in both restaurants and the bar. This seems to be a common occurrence. My pet hate is UHT milk. The pool area is very tired and does not portray the luxury of the hotel. Bar area (soapies) , not a nice area to sit. Cheap looking.

The Ardoe Hotel is set in a stunning location with a wonderful buildingz incredible interiors and some beautiful public rooms. The private rooms are luxurious the beds are fabulous. Having the spa facility and swimming bath was also wonderful

The dining area for breakfast and restaurant in the evening is a bit dull and lifeless. Despite having many rooms with beautiful views and huge windows the eating area is set inside the building with very little natural light and no views out. The eating experience was not negative but it didn't match the splendor and beauty of the rest of the experience.

Food was fresh and tasty, fish was melt in mouth & cooked to perfection. Spa was great, easy to use, towel & code for locker. The grounds are quiet and lush with places to sit and ponder. The interior is quirky, characterful, bohemian. Bedroom is fully equipped, quiet, trees outside, bed massive and comfy, bathroom modern and chic. Staff very helpful and with a sense of humour. Love the dogs. Loved the entire place!

Swimming lessons followed by water aerobics to 8.30pm means it's not a peaceful spa till it all finishes but there's always lanes free for swimming. No thermostat in room so hard to cool it but windows open a little.

The room was spacious as was the bathroom. It was all very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were plenty of towels and robes were provided which was very nice. The courtesy refreshments (tea, coffee, snacks etc.) were plentiful. Breakfast was excellent -lots of choice. Can't fault the accommodation.

Could have done with a few more hangers in the wardrobe and maybe a little more storage for clothes such as a drawer unit. Across the board all of the staff were very friendly and efficient so overall the service was great. Unfortunately there was one exception the young barman on the Saturday evening shift who made little effort to be pleasant which in itself was a shame but it also transpired that he over charged us for our two drinks (£19.75 for a glass of wine and a pint of lager ??) ( we didn't realise this until we scrutinised our bill back home) I guess we should have been more vigilant. Otherwise a great experience.

Beautiful building, beautiful room, very clean, excellent breakfast, lovely grounds for a walk. Super extras in the room, drinks and caramel wafer!! Lovely touch. Bed was great size and very comfortable. Bathroom and shower were great.

When we were on our way to find our room there was lots of empty alcohol bottles and glasses outside rooms and they remained there until our checkout which was not very nice. In the evening we wanted the casual bar meal and entered the bar, nobody greeted us so we sat down and nobody came to ask what we wanted. After a while we sussed out that people were ordering at the bar so we asked for menus and then ordered, then we noticed there was also another two rooms for bar food and they were beautiful. Food was super and service there after was super!

Absolutely beautiful hotel and great location this hotel was recommended by our sons who have stayed here before .The breakfast was very nice and had lots of choices the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very nice with a very comfortable bed and wonderful sleep my only grumble would be that the hairdryer is stored in the wrong place and should be where you hang your clothes also the bathroom floor was a little dirty and the tea and coffee storage was dusty and needed cleaning other than that would like to stay again and explore the spa and grounds.

The beds were comfy and the rooms quite big. The pool was lovely and quiet.

The hotel in itself was ok. Despite asking for a quiet room, we were situated next to a link corridor / staircase which meant when the bar closed we had noisy guests. Unfortunately, we then had the fire alarm go off at 4.30am and the. a couple of power cuts before and during breakfast, which meant some people (literally) had to have their breakfast in the dark. As there was no power, the toilets wouldn't refil. It was a shame that so many things conspired against us. I just felt so sorry for any wedding party staying overnight in readiness for their celebration day.

The room was very comfortable and plenty of space for my wife and I and our two dogs. I was staying in the hotel due to taking part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk and appreciate the swimming pool and spa area, followed by the exceptionally comfy bed.

Only thing I can say about the room is that it could have been cleaner on arrival. The carpets hadn’t been hoovered properly in the room and the toilet floors hadn’t been cleaned properly. Also the tea/coffee tray had some crumbs that hadn’t been cleaned properly in our room and also the room my sister in law was in. My wife and sister in law work in a house cleaning department at a 4 star hotel and noticed these details on arrival, so just something to keep in mind.
