Well situated, comfortable and well staffed. It was really nice to be somewhere where the owners were on site to make sure everything was taken care of. We had a road facing room and were really impressed by how quiet it was. Lovely shower too. We stayed for the breakfast the following day and were really impressed by the variety and quality of what was offered.

The only very minor niggle is no shower gel in the room. This was easy to get from staff downstairs, but not ideal when you’ve just got up. Possibly offer this during check in process?

The room was well provided with extras, and the bathroom was really clean. it has been newly refurbished over the past couple of years. Breakfast was excellent. A lovely family atmosphere, and the staff stayed on a bit later to serve us dinner for which we were grateful, which wasn't usual on Sunday,

The evening meal was delicious, but quite pricey (however, it would have been difficult to find dinner anywhere else!) I was disappointed to have to pay for parking, but I was aware I would have to pay beforehand.

The room was very comfortable and airy with lots of thoughtful touches such as an iron and ironing board, a sewing kit, a selection of herbal teas and a little fridge with fresh milk it, as well as the usual tea/coffee/kettle etc. The bathroom actually had a bath in it which is always a bonus these days. We were in one of the attic rooms which had lovely exposed beams and a slightly undulating floor that added to the character. The Beaumond Cross is on quite a busy town centre junction, but the noise quickly dissipates into the evening and it was relatively quiet at night. The benefit of this central location is that you are perfectly positioned only a short walk from excellent cafes and restaurants, a cinema and a theatre as well as being only a ten to fifteen minute walk from the train station and the river Trent with its barges and lovely scenery.

We chose not to eat at the hotel because breakfasts are a little pricey and we don't general eat a lot at the start of the day so we wouldn't have got full benefit. A cheaper, continental option would have been welcome. We didn't try the evening menu either although the smells from the kitchen were wonderful. The menu offers a range of speciality pies and other homecooked delights. It all sounds amazing but mostly too heavy and rich for our preferences.

the property is a short 15 mins walk from Newark upon Trent train station. the work is through the centre of town and Beaumond Cross is central to this. a better location you couldn’t wish for. A nice and friendly greeting from the team, who run this as a family. I felt self, happy and once taken to my room. there was everything I could require. From a good selection of teas and herbal tea. no bitter twinnings here. coffee selection and delicious cookies. not just a few too. They have thought of everything. iron, ironing board, good sewing kit. stationary. spray disinfectant, a great selection of toiletries in the bathroom. oh how could I forget this room is so airy and bright, I’m a powerlifter and stayed for our championships which took place today, so I needed the room to stretch. this is a very roomy room. armchairs tables sofas. everything you need for your home from home.

there was nothing not to like. I stayed in the Eves top room number 9 the only thing would be more stairs to walk up. but that’s not a deal breaker.

The Beaumond Cross Inn, is a real hidden gem. Upon arrival I was met by a friendly and personable gentleman who then introduced me to Paul (the proprietor) who carried my bag up to the room, which was spacious and comfortable with a good sized shower room. The little touches of lovely biscuits and fresh milk in the little fridge were just what was needed. Considering my room was at the front of the building I had no problems getting to sleep, especially with the blind and heavy curtains. The breakfast menu was a real hit, with 4 pages of wonderfully mouth-watering descriptions made me wish my stay was longer so I could try them all! A fabulous couple of days, thank you to all the family for everything!

With this having the bar and restaurant on the ground floor, my room was on the 1st floor, so people with mobility problems need.to be mindful.

I didn't really know what to expect - it was a late booking on a solo long distance cycling trip and I arrived hungry and tired. The welcome was great, the room was excellent, and the meals, both evening and breakfast, absolutely brilliant. If ever I am in the area again I would make a point of staying here. A lot of effort over the years from this obviously family run hotel has clearly paid off

The room was good, with a comfortable bed and an excellent shower. Having real milk in the fridge for an early morning cup of coffee was a really nice touch and the cooked breakfast was great.

Very near a main road, so traffic in the morning was rather noisy. Staff were a little chaotic in handling the finances (trying to charge me twice for breakfast) and also sent numerous messages in advance of our stay, all just giving the basic information - they seemed to be unhappy about going through Booking.com, which is our preferred way of finding places to stay, and added a car parking charge which only applied to people booking through the site.

I chanced on the Beaumond by accident. I needed somewhere to stay at short notice and my wife booked me in while I was on the road. I expected a good down to earth town centre pub. I got all of that and much more besides. The guest house enjoys a town centre location, but there was no traffic noise at all. There is ample secure off road parking to the side and rear of the property. The rooms were spotlessly clean and there were excellent facilities. The bathroom was a good size and the water pressure was great. There was an abundance of tea and coffee facilities and fresh milk, always a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well. I had dinner at the guesthouse, one of the famous cavalier pies. It was outstanding and beautifully presented. There was a cracking pint on offer from the local Pheasant Brewery and a wonderful digestif brandy to round off a great evening. In the bar itself, there are shelves full of books and I was able to get stuck into a good read as I was on my own. I took Alexander Solzhenitsyn to bed with me! As I was up early, I missed out on breakfast sadly. It looks as though I missed another great experience. I would recommend the Beaumond absolutely and entirely without reservation. This is a small family concern and the owners really value and love their property. This is obvious. I hope to be back in Newark soon and with the rest of the family this time. I would not hesitate to reserve a room at the Beaumond.

Absolutely nothing springs to mind.

Friendly welcome from Inn owners, lovely clean ensuite room with very good facilties, comfortable and spacious. Pleasant sitting room with books to read and cosy bar in the inn. Truly exceptional breakfast made with fresh local produce, the generous helping of bacon and home made herb sausages delicious. I think it must be the best cooked breakast I have ever had! I hope very much to return and stay next year.

I can't think of anything. Perhaps a little hard to locate when driving - a sign to the car park would be welcome.

Friendly reception upon arrival. We were shown to our rooms in person, and the room was spacious, comfortable and well-fitted/ supplied with modern amenities whilst retaining the 'old-world' charm of the building. The cooked breakfast was one of the best I've had, with home-made Lincolnshire sausages being the highlight for me. You could tell the person serving us breakfast cared about the quality of our experience; in fact, ALL of the staff were personable and friendly. The Inn has a policy of not hosting hen/stag party groups, which I liked because I knew it would mean I wouldn't be disturbed by noisy other guests.
