New management has improved on cleanliness, reception redecorated and seating arranged to be more welcoming. Comfortable large bed Very good breakfast, has been improved on some self service and bread quality with own toasting facility.

Bar area taken over by local football group who seemed to treat it like a clubhouse! Noisy and rowdy with no intervention from bar staff even though it was obvious locals and visitors were disturbed this continued outside the pub door. Bar tables not cleared and cleaned despite staff chatting at bar, did not seem to have the initiative to keep bar area clean and tidy.

Beautiful hotel and pub in the centre of a very quaint village. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. The room we booked was good apart from the size of the bed which was a little small for us. We mentioned this to Tasha and she immediately upgraded us to another room which was exceptional. rooms have been refurbished to a good modern standard but still keeping the oldie world style with the age of the hotel etc. would definitely return again. We had an evening meal and a full breakfast was delicious and to a very high standard. A sausage was also provided for our dog 😆. Overall excellent service, comfortable rooms, delicious food.

Excellent breakfast with a good choice. Dinner was also excellent. There were 10 of us and all food arrived at the same time and piping hot. Our room was a good size and had everything we needed. Although there was an event in the event room in the same building, we had been told about this and that it would finish promptly at 11.00, and it did. We love Lenham and the hotel is right on the village square.

We have stayed here previously - before Covid - and returned because we liked it. This trip, the room seemed a little tired and in need of a little tlc. For example, a missing lampshade, out of date signs in the bathroom, and a rather sad looking throw on the bed. All little things that could very quickly be sorted.

The staff (both reception and restaurant) was so very kind and helpful. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast options were good. You won’t walk away hungry. Parking was very convenient. Rooms aren’t air conditioned but there is a fan at your disposal that helped immensely. Thick curtains did a great job keeping the light out.

Be careful when you turn the shower on. The water was steaming hot (too hot) to immediately step into, even when the dial was on cold. It took a good minute or more for the temperature to regulate.

Very friendly staff and room was nice and spacious.The food in the evening was very nice and the service excellent

Due to the number of rooms breakfast times shoukd really be booked as when we went down for breakfast no table in the dining area was available so we sat in the bar area which they then started to clean we were moved in to the dining srea once a table became available the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.The cooked breakfast also could have been a little more generous

Good location in a small village. Bed was really comfortable, the room was lovely and clean with lots of shower gels/shampoos. Nice to have bottled water too

Shower in room 23 was a bit awkward to get into and out of, no good for someone with mobility issues. Hard to get the correct temperature in the shower too. Unfortunately the kitchen had no power on one morning so not a lot available. No-one said anything until we were placing our order. Seemed a bit chaotic in the restaurant

The room was pleasant enough, comfortable, clean and spacious. This is an old pub and the accommodation block is a later development across the courtyard at the back. The food was good, especially the evening meal, breakfast was acceptable, but some of it hadn't been cooked fresh and was a little dry.

The staff were surly and poor communicators. It felt as though I was a nuisance when I wanted to order food and it was 8.15 (food is until 9pm). This is a Shepherd Neame pub, so the beer range was limited to their products, which aren't to my taste, but was in good condition, which is more than I can say for the Red Lion next door.

Size and comfort of room were excellent. Response of staff to requests prompt and effective. Atmosphere was very friendly.

Breakfasts offered were huge and seemed of good quality. but we would have liked the option of lighter, continental breakfasts. Evening meals were of high standard, too, but again more variety would have been good, such as pastas or more fish. Service at breakfast was variable: we had the sense twice that we were not expected!

Staff was very friendly, especially the ladies at the checkin and at breakfast service. Breakfast was delicious, especially the fresh orange juice and the range of healthy alternatives to English breakfast like porridge for example.

The cleanliness in the room could be improved. The glass on the desk had lip prints from a former guest, the courtesy products (hand and body milk) were already opened and used.

Excellent breakfast. Fantastic location. The room for a single person with a dog was perfect with a courtyard I could use. Comfy bed. Very quiet for a mid week stay. I would stay again. Friendly staff and gave a sausage to my dog.

The dining room was a bit boring to look at which sounds picky but a bit of a refurb and some pictures would be a good idea.it put me off having my evening meal there. Staff smoking outside and not saying hello when I walked by made me feel a bit unwelcome and because I was traveling alone acknowledgement would have been nice. They did speak to me when I spoke to them though and everyone has a bad moment now and again, so I doubt it’s a normal thing. A fridge in the room would have been handy.
