The Gretna Chase Hotel

The lovely welcome you get on arrival. The staff we all so very helpful and do a fantastic job. Walking from the car park into the Reception you go through the Gardens 👏 they were well kept and beautiful, little hidden places to explore all around the Beer Garden and spotless clean and tidy. The bedroom had everything you need for your stay and again very comfortable and clean, in fact from the main entrance into the hotel the full place was spotless.

I definitely didn’t like that Breakfast finished at 9am on a Sunday morning 😢 if you have been working all week it would be nice not to have to hurry for breakfast before 9am. That brings me to check out 10.30 is slightly to early 11,30 would give you some more time to relax because after all you can’t check in until 3pm the day before doesn’t give you a lot of time in the hotel.

We came to Gretna to book our wedding, the Gretna chase was already our number 1 choice for our package that we had been looking at so we thought we would stay the night prior to our booking appointment so we could get a feel for the place. We certainly weren't disappointed. The gardens are stunning and very well kept. On arrival we were greeted with a friendly receptionist who checked us in and informed us that we had been upgraded to a different room free of charge, The room was huge, with a seating area too, Bathroom with bath and separate shower, Staff downstairs in the bar couldn't have been any more helpful, showing us the function room, and explained how the tables would be laid out etc, even suggested we popped back down to see the following day before the wedding that day that was booked t see how it all looked, which we did and it was stunningly set. Needless to say we have now confirmed our booking and looking forward to our next stay which will probably be before the wedding for the hair and make up trial. Thanks again to all of the staff.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. The property is lovely grounds etc are immaculate. Restaurant and Bar served lovely food and drink. 2 miNutes in car to Gretna Gateway, 5 minutes to walk. Not much around apart from gateway but if your wanting a chilled out place to go this is it. We sat in beer garden all afternoon until the rain came

There wasn’t anything to dislike my only complaint we upgraded to Deluxe double room and we felt for the price the tea tray was minimal and definitely should of been better and there was no mini bar/fridge. We loved the jaccquzi bath but was too high so couldn’t get in if taps had been on other side of bath then maybe. We were really disappointed we couldn’t go in. Also for the bathroom it lacked toiletries there were some but these were on the wall and just felt impersonal.

The location, a couple of minutes off the M6. But so tranquil, beautiful gardens. Room so spacious and comfortable and lovely view of garden. Welcoming bar/restaurant. Gorgeous outside seating area. Dinner very tasty. Breakfast hout and plentiful. Very friendly staff in all areas.

If Ive got to say something, the room was very hot as we were going through a very hot heatwave. But a upright fan was in the room which I really appreciated. BUT there were no sockets near the bed to plug it into😔. And the lead wasn't long enough to have it blowing near the bed. I had to sleep on top of duvet as it was a winter weight duvet, phew!

Lovely hotel, it was perfect for an overnight stay, we stayed in room 11, it was large, bright and airy, shower over the bath, which was fine, welcome addition of a fan which was a bonus as the weather was really hot, all you could really need in a hotel room, we had a cooked breakfast, self service which suits us fine as you can decide exactly what you would like, and how much. Would not hesitate to stay again, excellent value for money. All staff we encountered were very welcoming and pleasant.

Only an observation, but the room/bathroom are a little dated, but for the price we paid I felt that it was great value for money, and it certainly did not take away from our stay,

On arrival, I had a free upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. Room nice and big. Beautiful hotel and location. The young gentleman that served our food, was very pleasant and polite. Was lovely to see. :)

The evening meal was in the bar area, I think it would have been lovely if it was separate. Just there was a group of very loud guys opposite us, and I suffer with anxiety and have autisim. I found it a little difficult with the noise. I do wear a sunflower lanyard.
