everything was superb. from the location, the cleanliness, and even the host was amazing. the host was more than glad to show you around and recommend places. he spoke great english! he even helped us call a motorbike taxi during our checkout day to get to the bus station. the place had a really cool and chill hangout spot upstairs. facilities and amenities were great as well, there were microwaves and free coffee, as well as washing machine at the back. very near to the night market, several weed shops, the train station and pretty much everything. there are bikes to rent making it easy for you to get by around. despite the location is in an alley, we, two female travellers, felt safe regardless. bonus: there's a cute puppy named Panda! again, overall, amazing. would definitely come back to see Panda again! <3 and would totally recommend the place to others

as usual in SEA countries, there were mosquitos (but being South East Asians, we were used to it.) we felt guilty for bothering the host late at night for mosquito spray, but he promptly placed a spray outside of our room. so so grateful for the help! haha. another thing to note is that the water pressure for the shower wasn't too good, and it would be really great if the host could fix that. but both of these problems weren't that huge for us, just thought others would appreciate things to note. overall a great stay.

Nicky, the host, went above and beyond expectations – very helpful and obliging, lovely demeanour, calm, relaxed, flexible (e.g. with late checkout) and reliable – Tea and coffee (and kettle etc.) available for communal use in the reception area (which is very pleasant to sit in, with fish and cats, and great brochures full of good-value activities!) – Washing machine onsite, and our room had a warm annexe with a drying rack – Easy tuktuk ride away from many main attractions; Nicky helped arrange the tuktuks for a reasonable price – Several sites of interest (e.g. the Bridge over the River Kwai, the JEATH War Museum, a WWII cemetery) are within walking distance – Overall I would highly recommend spending a few days in Kanchanaburi, my partner and I fell in love with the place, not least On's Thai-Issan Vegan Restaurant, five minutes' walk from Nicky's place – their banana blossom salad is the best salad I've ever had, it made me emotional. In general there is so much to see and do, and two cafés in particular – Mina's and Mulberry Mellow – are couched in spectacular settings.

The water pressure in our sink was very weak throughout our three-night stay, but hopefully Nicky has got this problem fixed by now.

Great location, really nice relaxed feel about the whole place. The host was usually at hand to help with any questions etc .Arranged a motorbike for me to hire and helped me with a taxi on my day of departure. I would definitely use this place again. Expect no frills or 5 star luxury. It is what is says on the tin but super value.

Just a little feedback. I was feeling very jaded when I arrived. I would have liked to have been told about the facilities ie coffee and tea available downstairs etc when I checked in. (No kettle in room) So i just went without the first day. Perhaps he thought I just needed to rest. I was super tired.

Great location, close to everything such as food and transport, we walked everywhere. We caught the train back to Bangkok and it was just around the corner. Very close the night market with great food. The hosts were such lovely people, Nic was super helpful with transport information to Hell Fire Pass and gave us some great food options which were soooo delicious. We loved the gardens and nature it was quiet and they also had a very cute puppy Panda. We had booked for 2 nights but stayed for 3 and will definitely stay here again if we go back. The room was so clean and the beds were comfortable, the shower had good pressure and good hot water. The air-conditioner worked very well as it was very hot while we were there.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thai Guesthouse! A gorgeous spot tucked down a little side street in Kanchanaburi - the location is great as it’s nestled right between the quieter & more busier/touristy side of town, so depending on what you feel like! Comfy beds, hang out area we throughly enjoyed & staff are so lovely & friendly!

Only thing we felt was missing was maybe a little side lamp in our room for the evenings - the main lights in our room were intensely bright

Very clean, quiet and simple family homestay guesthouse located a few minutes walk from the main strip & train station. Convenience stores and lots of food options within a 5 minute walk. Nic greeted us and was a great host & help us to arrange economical transportation to local area temples and to the bus station for a trip to Erawan falls on our own schedule. He also gave us great suggestions for food which we tried and are recommended! We really enjoyed our stay here & we’re glad we chose Thai Guesthouse. Note its only about a 10 minute walk from the Kanchanaburi train station but the most convenient walking route requires you to cross a 4 lane road with a shrubbery barrier - transport from train cost us 80baht to the guesthouse. Bonus there is a very sweet puppy and friendly cat on the premise!

Very peaceful and pictureseque guest house where you could really relax. Clean and comfortable, it is very close to the station where there is a very interesting market every night with all sorts of goods at bargain prices. Close to shops and, place for laundry, restaurants; food of both European and Thai and the odd Indian and even a hawker selling Malaysian/Indian. It is about 2km from the Bridge on the River Khwae and the War museum.

Note picked us up and dropped us off at the railway station with no fee. He welcomed us from the start and was helpful with advice re getting around Kanchanaburi and our future travel arrangements. The guesthouse is located down a quaint little alley that makes you feel you are in the country whilst being centrally located. A minutes walk to places to eat and drink and a couple minutes further to the war cemetery and museum, or night market and railway station. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a fridge and Note made sure we had bottled water each day. No tea and coffee in the rooms but plenty of free coffee and tea can be made in the little patio area just outside the rooms under cover and surrounded by pots and greenery. Such a lovely, calm setting. Comfy chairs and a little table outside our room to sit and chill in the cool. We loved it here.

Only very slight thing was room was a little dark even with the lights on.

The owner, their family (and their pets) are lovely. The room is clean and very spacious, toiletries are included, the bed is comfortable, and there are both AC and a fan. The patio area is very cute with lots of plants and a new fish pond, there is also a tea and coffee station. The position is near the station, a few bars and restaurants, and the nightmarket. Centre of town/bridge is a 25 min walk.

The bathroom door is a little bit difficult to lock, but with a little bit of patience you learn how to do it. Not a problem.

The owner of the guesthouse was a young Thai gentleman who very kindly helped us with the check-in even though we were a bit too early. He gave us a warm welcome with snacks and drinks and he provided us with tips for activities in Kanchanaburi. However, we already knew that we wanted to go to the Erawan waterfalls by motorcycle. He then proceeded to call his motorcycle rental contact and we could leave within minutes. There also was a sweet kitten that really loved to be petted and the little thing was looked after very well, even though it was apparently a rescue cat that just walked in some day. The whole experience there made us feel very welcomed and like home. In addition, the rooms were very neat/clean and towels and water were provided in the room. There was also a little fridge, a tv and a locker (with code combination) that we could use. Overall, would definitely recommend staying here!
