Dheva Mantra Resort - SHA

This is a large a hotel - resort on the banks of Kawai. At the back of the hotel you can see Kwai snaking through the property. It has a lovely restaurant that you can have a dinner at, the food is excellent almost perfect. The rooms are very good in size as it was large with a balcony looking into the garden and the pool. The breakfast is also lovely, the hotel decor is old Singapore very elegant as the breakfast room is elegant with great food. We arranged for our own taxi to take us to the daytrip - River Kwai railroad and museum, you must see Hellfire Pass, its a must. You dont need to ride the train, its a tourist trap, it get full quickly. So just walk on the train tracks, take your pictures which is the real thing then take the car to Hellfire Pass before 4pm as they close early. Its an Australian, New Zeland, Indian, British Memorial for all the people who died WWII building the railway. I am so glad our Aussie friend told us about it, we would've been sad to miss it, you get self guided tour of the pass that was built by the prisoners of war and the museum in the site is a must. If you give yourself a full day for this, its good. Skip the waterfall, as its a waste. Next day on the way back you can see the Floating Market on the way back to BK, that's what did. We didn't ride the boat, another tourist trap you get blocked by 100s of boats in different directions with black fumes. The pool is lovely and the property is really nice to walk in the back.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, for the first night we had to drive into the city 15 minutes away to find food as we didnt want to do fine dinning since we were so tired from our long driving journey from Bangkok, its outside of the city - depends how you look at it. It takes 2.5 hours from BK and the traffic was horrible.

I recently stayed at Dheva hotel and had a fantastic experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with big, cozy beds. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the delicious food selection at breakfast - there were so many tasty options to choose from. The hotel also had beautiful grounds, adding to the overall ambiance. Additionally, the location was great, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding area. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its comfortable rooms, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, beautiful grounds, and convenient location.

I didn't like being charged extra to use the facilities at the hotel 😕

Room is huge and cooling, good art design, bathroom was clean. They send breakfast to our room for first 2 days and was super convenient. The last day we dine at the restaurant, was great so that we can enjoy a different environment. Relax environment which is good for vacation. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was great as well. Staff are super nice and friendly.

On the first night, the water on bath tub was “black”, we let water run for a while and still not great. On the next day, we left the bath tub with dirty water and “somehow” it was fix when we return. That was great since our girl like to play around the tub on her vacation. Water on swimming pool was not clean, will be nice if they are well maintained.

Junior suite is very nice. We asked for the same room as last time and got it! Vegetarian options have improved but could still do with more options. Pool is very nice, and quiet! River Kwai is a few feet from the pool. We both like this hotel as it's very peaceful.

The pool was murky when we arrived and was being cleaned. Prices of drinks are a bit expensive. Air conditioning could have been throughout the rooms as only the bedroom had air-con.

Very friendly welcome by kh. Bee, Front Office Manager, efficient and attentive check in. All buildings of the Resort have been recently renovated and painted in colors which remind me of Mrigadayavan Palace. High and airy ceilings and the choice of colors relax and sooth. Tasteful finishing touches with fabrics of Jim Thompson. All nestled in a vast and well kept garden. Last but not least to mention is the Spa with professional therapists.

Had to change room for the last night as aircon stopped working. Pool water was not clear during stay.

Perfect location to see the River Quay the death Museum. There’s a lovely elephant sanctuary, 45 minute drive away, the taxis are very cheap. If you get them privately not through the hotel.

The breakfast wasn’t too our liking. There was a lot of choice however I’m I don’t like curry for breakfast. There was a muesli salad, the bread, nice, chicken sausages and hashbrowns.

Superb colonial style large house with rooms placed around a lovely pool and garden next to the river. Room service food was excellent.

No atmosphere as low number of guests. Dining only available in your room (very good) or in the ‘Rice barge’ restaurant (average). Nothing close to the resort. Have to get a taxi to do anything off site

Lovely large room, large balcony and a superb huge pool. Stunning grounds and fantastic helpful pleasant staff. Toiletries were included as well as drinks in room.

I really liked the hotel, however the hotel takes a fee (100baht)for booking a taxi which we thought was wrong so we arranged our own taxi after that.

The Dheva is an excellent hotel at a super riverlocation. I liked the colonial style of the place. The rooms are big and I had chosen for a riverside room. The balcony was huge. Big luxury rooms with all you need. Bed was okay but not really first class. Staff were friendly. Big sized pool in a tropical garden, actually a park. Breakfast okay, but limited. Good coffee

Probably due to COVID there was less staff, which I understand. That means f.e. that overall maintenance of pool and garden was not okay. The hotel should invest more in training of staff. Although good willing and friendly, the staff is not that professional for a 5 star hotel

Wide breakfast choices all v good. All staff that we came into contact with were friendly and helpful.

Stayed on New Year’s Eve and normal inside bar not open as staff were opening the outside bar for the evening entertainment. We attended the outside buffet/bar so not sure if the inside bar opened at the same time.
