X10 Khaolak Resort SHA Plus

Lovely hotel Lovely staff Lovely beach Good rooms 10 min walk to town or tuk tuk ride always available Town is a main strip with lots of shops and restaurants Massages great next to hotel on the beach We loved getting a tuk tuk to coconut beach to Noks restaurant and watching the sun set while dining. Great fun for kids as lots of hermit crabs We had a large room that fit a double bed and two extra beds with large balcony - perfect for 2 adults and kids My mum shared a room with my teenager with two nice size beds (I think it was pool view beach wing or something like that) My sister had a pool view deluxe room for 2 adults and a kid which was nice but fully frosted glass bathroom wall means you can see everything - especially when going to the toilet - no sound barrier either (so wouldn't get one of these if you're in a new relationship 😉)

The pool towels Every morning people put their towels on the chairs which is fine if you're using them We saw a family of 5 take 5 chairs and for the 4 hours we were at the pool they were no where to be seen

The X10 is located right on the beach, we didnt venture onto the beach that much but if you are swimming by the main pool you can see the beach from there with beautiful sunsets, cocktail in hand. Kids area was excellent, they have one large pool area with a slide which my son loved, a small area with mushroom water play area and then a main pool with volleyball area and swim up bar. The breakfast had a decent variety but you get fed up of chicken sausage and crispy bacon after awhile and long for a change. We only ate once at the main restaurant and only once at the Seafood restaurant at lunchtime. I would encourage the Hotel to offer theme nights, you could have a Thai evening with just Thai food, a Mexican evening for example. This is something I have enjoyed in other Hotels abroad and its always such a great success. The Hotel also offers ree hot drinks throughout the day just outside reception and free soft drinks and popcorn in the main restaurant from 3 to 5pm. This resort is catered for families, if you are planning on a Honeymoon or quiet getaway with your partner then I would look for somewhere else. There are alot of children at this resort.

The sunloungers did not have any cushions on them. I had seen previous guests mention this in their reviews to which management had responded that yes they do have mattresses. I can tell you they dont, and they can be quite uncomfortable after lying on them for sometime. There is no evening entertainment at the Hotel or special evenings. It would have been nice to have a musician and singers or Thai traditional dances or evenings during our stay. We had an issue with the toilet on two occasions as it kept getting blocked, it was fixed though.

The resort was excellent. Very well located... Just 5 mins walk to the road which has many restaurants, shops and also a 7 eleven. But the food at the restaurant in X10 was fabulous and very well priced. So we hardly ate anywhere else. You do need local transportation for visiting Lam Ru national park, sea turtle conservation centre, water falls etc but taxis are readily available ( though a bit pricey) . Special mention to the staff who were very warm and welcoming. Room was spotlessly cleaned everyday. The pools were excellent for every age group. Definitely one of the best places in khao lak

I would say the only thing to not recommend in this place was the beach immediately in front of the property. It's rough and not a very swimmable one for sure. I am sure there are some neighbouring beaches which are excellent but we didn't visit them.

We loved everything! from the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted and treated beautifully the whole stay. The staff were very engaging and attentive - interacted so well with our 4 year old son. Our room was spacious and had all amenities. Big bed and pillow menu! Complimentary bottles of water every day. We loved all the pools, especially the water slide! We chose this resort for its waterslide, pools, water park and kids club and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Breakfast buffet had so much on offer, including freshly cooked eggs to your liking and fresh fruit smoothies/juices. We ate dinner at both restaurants and enjoyed them equally. Very well priced and lots of options (kids meals for less than 100 baht). Happy hour every night from 3-5pm with 30% off and free popcorn/soft drinks for kids. We were also invited to a ‘cocktail party’ one evening pre dinner - free cocktail and canapés. It was lovely!! Location is good but you need to walk to get anywhere or get a shuttle/taxi. We walked both into town (central) and the market. The market is further and a decent walk in the heat - plus we pushed a pram. There’s not really a side walk to the market so we walked along the side of the road. Traffic not too busy and locals very accommodating and would be cautious and move over. Market is definitely worth a visit or 2. plus the Tsunami Museum and memorial. We paid less than $400AU for 4 nights so weren’t sure what to expect but we were blown away! We have visited Thailand many times but not to Khaolak. X10 certainly exceeded our expectations, we would definitely stay again!

Nothing, we loved it all.

- Exceptional customer service - all staff were on hand to help and it was super personalised - Excellent check in - they were waiting for us, sat us down, totally relaxed and felt personalised again - Rooms very modern, kids room was excellent and spacious - Breakfast really fresh, well stocked and beautiful - Restaurant made wonderful Thai food and was super cheap - Free drinks and popcorn for the kids 3-5 every day - Free tea and coffee all day - Wifi was strong and available for free - Very reasonable prices for what you get! - Very safe and open - the kids could run around, play ping pong / pool and we didn't need to worry - As we went in August it was off- peak season and so very quiet - only about 50 people in the whole hotel which meant it felt very quiet and relaxed and personalised.

- Not the fault of the hotel but there was an oil spill a few days before we arrived and the beach was covered in tar :( it was so sad to see the pollution and also meant walking on the beach = tar on your feet. - The location is quite isolated - which we knew but after a week we wished we had more around us

I recently stayed at X10 with my husband, 4 year old son, 70 year old mother and sister with her 2 year old. we can’t rate X10 highly enough. For starters they arranged for our rooms to be adjacent so we could put the children to bed and still hang out on our ground floor balconies. The rooms were spacious and clean with excellent aircon, they set up our 4 year olds own bed and the 2 year old had a cot. the pool was child sized so the 2 and 4 year old could happily play standing up which freed up our arms! The swim up bar and water fountains were a hit with everybody, but the best part was the really clean beach which we played on every evening at sunset. I don’t think we saw a single piece of rubbish! There is a great spa on site which is wonderful but expensive, but there are great massage places on the beach charging between 350-500b. staff were super friendly and seemed genuine in their affection for the children. the breakfast was really exceptional with fruit smoothies made to your taste (a particular favourite!) all in all we had the best time. Thanks X10 so much for a really memorable holiday - we will be back!

The only difficulty was that with very small children we were a songthaew taxi ride away from restaurants in the town. Without children (or older children) you’re about a 10/15 minute walk away, but little legs got too tired in the heat. The songthaews were 150b for a 5 minute ride which anywhere else would be a complete rip off, the prices were fixed so no negotiating either. Just something to be aware of, but definitely not enough to put us off coming back!

They offer buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The variety of the foods offered on those meals is amazing and very good value for the money. Also, kids under 12 eat for free in the buffet! It is a family and kid-friendly hotel with multiple pools, a slider, kids room with PS5, and a large area to run around. There is also a free coffee machine that's available 7/24, and they offer free popcorn and soft drinks between 3pm - 5pm. Alcoholic / Non-Alcoholic drink prices are very reasonable at Pool Bar and Restaurants. There is also a mini mart if you want to buy snacks and drinks to your room, again reasonable priced. It is such a hotel where you don't have to leave the hotel for anything.

A bit far from the center of the village and must take a taxy,( hotel shuttles are only 3 times a day.) Hotel guests cannot pay in restaurants by cash but only in checkout. Why is the insistence not to let the guests to pay as they wish? Not critical though

Quiet place, ideally for families with children. Nice rooms and very clean. Friendly personel. Several restaurants, shops, etc.. can be reached in 10min. by walk or with a Taxi for 200 THB (4 PAX).

It would have been nich to have pre-reserved sun-beds, as the „race“ in the morning has been adding some stress. Check-out was a bit complicated, as we had to leave one day earlier. No car rentals close to the location, we would had to go back to Phuket to rent a car (1 hour drive).
