Seehof Hotel Du Lac

Beautiful location and view! Room was clean and well appointed with ample closet space. Beds were comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was clean and shower had good pressure. The room had windows that could open fully to capture the lake breezes. The on site restaurant had just reopened during our stay and the food was delicious at dinner. The seating was on the outdoor terrace and right on the lake. The staff were very kind.

Parking was tight but I think they have an agreement with a parking lot/garage nearby. Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful situation. Stunning view. Quiet initially. Hotel tired and in need of modernisation. In saying that it was clean and was just a base as we travelled each day.

Beer festival weekend. The noise at night was horrendous. Impossible to sleep with windows open due to noise, and impossible to sleep with them closed due to no air conditioning.

Best coffee on our entire 3 week trip. A great continental breakfast . A small town feel a half hour from Lucerne. The weather wasn’t the best, but we were walking distance from the ferry for boat rides around the lake and cable car up to Mount Rigi. The restaurant was one of our best meals on the trip with a wonderful take on pumpkin soup, complimentary pate and bread with whipped butter. My wife’s Hunter’s stew was very good and my simple Weiner Schnitzel was the best I ever had.

The weather

I stayed at the hotel on the night of the 3rd December with my husband and with her sister’s family. The hotel is very nicely located on the shore of Lake Lucerne and one of the rooms was huge and had even a balcony with view on the lake. The other one was comfortable and well furbished. The breakfast was served as a buffet. The kind hotel staff provided several coffees and cappuccinos.

One of the rooms was not too large and had a small bathroom. Food at breakfast was sufficient but the choice was not abundant.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, particularly Zoltan and Mary who were very informative about the general area, places to visit and things to do. Zoltan was attentive, very humorous and took care of us our whole stay. A really great experience

The rooms were quite bare and basic, although they didn't feel oversold and we were not expecting anything different. You can also hear people walking above because the building itself is quite old but this was only noticeable one morning.

excellent location by the lake and ferry terminal, beautiful building, lift, lovely old fashioned rooms quite quirky! staff were super friendly and very accommodating.

The room didn’t darken fully because there were only curtains (not external blinds) so our children didn’t really go to sleep easily. the bathroom was pretty old and small but for one night it was okay. I would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room to make it truly amazing and enjoyable in cold weather.

Practical accommodation right by the lake shore. Old hotel, doesn't seem recently renovated, but well kept & with all necessary amenities - guess it gives it more "character", but that's a subjective call. The room wasn't big, but decently-sized though. Nice lakeview even is the window is rather small (so, in case the view is important, make sure to pick the rooms with a balcony).

The hotel is very well located near to the post, cabin and bus station with a lovely view of the lake. The manager was so kind to change our booking (our dog run away, but she came back :) We finally came to the hotel with our little dog. At night we had dinner in the restaurant and I proposed my partner, the team was very reactive and created a beautiful dessert in just a few minutes! The whole staff came, it was a beautiful moment :) The food is gourmet, with great quality, and outstanding service! Highly recommened!

Absolutely stunning location, so beautiful right on the lake with a wonderful terrace . Room was nice and spacious and clean. Beds and comforter and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was adequate.

The carpets all throughout the hotel need to be replaced. They are old, grey, worn and stained especially on our floor (top floor) Really a shame. Breakfast was a bit disappointing after coming from Germany. No hot items at all.

Beautiful location on the lake! Parking is not a sure thing unless you arrive early. The room and hotel were great, but the staff were a little too informal. The hotel is expensive, but that was expected for the area.

The restaurant in the hotel was great and overlooked the lake. The room was perfect! The hotel staff at reception were a little too informal. The staff in the restaurant were very professional.
