Swiss Chocolate by Fassbind Lausanne

Hotel and hotel room were good (friendly staff, decent room, good location). Parking: Used 'Parking Mon Repos' (Av. Mon-Repos 5, 1005 Lausanne). Simply park your car there; it's a short walk to the hotel. When checking in at the hotel, ask for the 50% discount voucher. This voucher you scan at the machine when paying for the parking (when collecting the car). Breakfast: We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but simply ate somewhere in one of the many small bakeries.

Elevator: a) very slow. b) in the morning, the cleaning staff use the elevator too and hence it is constantly occupied. We always used the stairs, no problem. In case you have heavy luggage or cannot walk the stairs, calculate a few mintues "elevator time" when you leave... In the hallway new carpets were being installed (August 2023) - not a problem; just made the hallways look a bit untidy. Future hotel guests will certainly appreciate the new carpets once the work is completed.

Great location and very large room. We really appreciated and utilized the bus pass offered at check-in. The chocolate fountain in the lobby was a nice surprise, and the fridge in the room was very convenient. I liked the QR code information provided in the room; it was helpful to have right on the phone.

The only issue we ran into was the shower... it's a great shower, don't get me wrong, but it's a flat floor so water just kinda goes everywhere. We couldn't figure out how to not flood the entire bathroom floor so we felt bad for the amount of towels we used. Also, the aircon isn't super cool. It was a hot day so something was nice but it really is more air circulation than cold air. But again, it was a very hot day.

The hotel staff were particularly friendly and helpful. We were given a room on the 8th floor with a terrace and fantastic view overlooking the lake - a great spot for our breakfast! The hotel rooms and lobby have been recently refurbished, bright and airy modern deco. The location is very convenient for walking anywhere in the city center, and the metro is just a block away. Nice neighborhood. Good value for the money compared with other city center hotels.

I'm sure they will refurbish the dark hallways as soon as they can to go with the rest of the hotel!

Great location, proximity to metro and free travel tickets made it very easy to get around. Chocolate fountain in reception was a nice touch. Room upgrade was appreciated

The property is under renovation. Needs more regular hoovering and sweeping to clear up the mess. The main door to the suite didn’t work (was fixed the day we left) so had to keep rooms closed separately. Chocolate fountain was left unattended and looked a bit grim once it was left with half melted chocolate in it.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was in an excellent location. Easy to get from and to the metro. Good connections to train station, lake and cathedral. Bed was very comfortable.

Would have been good to be informed prior to arrival, about the renovations being done in the hotel. When people leave or enter their rooms, the doors slam and it happened quite often. Became disruptive in the evening. Would have been nice to have a second chair in the room.

The hotel was located in the city centre and the staff at the reception was very nice and helpful in providing necessary info. The theme of the hotel was chocolaty. We parked at Mon Repos parking. The hotel provided a 50% coupon and we paid 15 CHF for 24h. Additionally, the hotel also provided us with a 1 day travel pass for free (this was probably a scheme from the local city) Overall, it was a good stay.

Clean and close to metro stop and on a decent side street with restaurants and cafes. The hotel had no front desk staff due to covid but there was a kitchen and laundromat in the basement and a patio and lobby where you could bring food. I appreciated the reminders to save water and resources. Enjoyed the Lake view on the top floor. Delicious bakery a couple of doors away downhill.

Slightly inconvenient to check in at the property down below, it’s not far but would have appreciated better directions before arriving. Perhaps a list of nearby restaurants and cafes since there is no front desk. A nespresso machine in the lobby would have been welcome as it was a bit lonely in the reception area.

Room very clean and quiet. Mini-fridge provided, really good to have. Tea and kettle provided. Little chocolate as a welcome gift. Hair dryer and iron provided. Location next to subway station and facilities (groceries, café, etc). Free subway pass provided ! Price is really good when you consider what is given.

Breakfast not included. But for the price, you can't have your cake and eat it, so it's ok. No A/C, watch for heat waves. Room size a bit small, but ok for solo traveller. No warning that the check-in was at Swiss Wine before arriving at the front of the Hotel.

convenient location! close to the metro station. nice Chinese staff, very sweet to tell us everything about thehotel～ there is a chocolate fountain in front of the reception! taste good also~ even provide the regional day pass!!

the pillow is not a normal size😂 My neck is stiff from sleep...

The chocolate fountain at the entrance was really nice. In addition the room was clean and comfortable.

The man at the reception took a lot of time to do the check in. He seemed pretty confused.
