Hotel Victoria

The room size and comfort of the bed were excellent. The room was very clean and good value for money. Old style where a room key is still required which kind of added to the charm.

I did not like that my Booking Credit Card was debited once, and then again pending room charges were placed on the same Credit Card, even though, I paid directly at the reception with an entirely different Credit Card. This caused a number of additional administrative matters, which needed to be addressed by myself, which were not supported in any manner by the Hotel staff.

When you enter for the first time you only see the stairs to gain the reception level. If your baggage is big it present a bit of a challenge. Then you learn that there is an elevator. Some kind of panel indicating the location of the elevator would make your first impression better. And more comfortable.

Since it was close to the station all breakfasts were taken at other breakfast outlets nearby.

One of the reception staff could have handled my embarrassing situation when I failed to get connectivity and the two bank cards I had were rejected even after repeat attempts. Luckily my wife’s card was accepted. I am still trying to sort out the problem , which was not down to a lack of funds in the corresponding accounts.

The location of the Hotel Victoria is excellent. It is very near the main train station for Lousanne. The room was large with high ceilings and a nice balcony. We slept and showered well. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is quiet and elegant.

When you arrive, you must go down a side hall and push a button to be admitted to a back area where there is a lift to help get your luggage up to reception. This all works, but could use better signage. The process might present a problem for a person with disabilities.

The hotel is very charming....the decor is vintage which goes with the name ! My room #402 was modern and very comfortable. The AC worked like a dream. Special mention to Virginie and Adriano (hope I have got the names right) were so friendly, chatty and extremely helpful. The ironing room on the 2nd floor was very convenient and while the room does not provide tea service in the rooms, one could get a kettle on request. The location of the hotel was very central and I will definitely stay there if I visit Lausanne again.

Staff, location, size of room, charm of hotel. Terrific that hotel tax entitles guests to free metro, local trains and buses. Close to restaurants. Gorgeous full floor to ceiling windows open to a balcony. Quiet. Breakfast (for a fee) was comprehensive and delicious.

Entry floor for luggages, need to go through un-lovely basement. Need two servings of coffee per day in room; only one was provided. Need conditioner as well as shampoo in bath.

Clean. Fresh. Odourless. Immaculate. Stylish. Cultivated. Sophisticated attention to detail. Excellent location. Excellent staff. Can only recommend to stay here. Also very good for children and young people due to relaxed and kind atmosphere and spacious interior.

The hotel rooms were renovated only one year ago and are brilliant and beautiful. In the room we were given, there was marks on the wooden floor from a previous guest and these need to be removed to preserve the excellent quality of the refurbishment.

Beautiful building and rooms; spacious and inviting. Very close to all public transportations. Great facilities.

We felt a bit uncomfortable giving back the room key everytime we left the hotel, since there's apparently only one key. on entering back in, the receptionist doesn't ask for identification when asking for the key, so anybody could have asked for our room key it seems

I liked its location. It’s close to the train station as well as subway. It was also close to the boat that we took to France. The staff was friendly and I also liked its closeness to the post office.

The only thing I had problems with were the light switches. I didn’t have time to figure them all out. I had doubts about using keys to get into the room.

lovely hotel and nicely decorated. excellent location for the main train station and local public transport. local restaurants and cafes.

no kettle in the room but we could help ourselves to hot water from the breakfast room.
