Hotel Artos Interlaken

great location. although the room isnt equipped with an a/c, we knew it before booking the hotel. our room had a balcony and big windows which we can open to let some air in, but on those hot/humid summer days, these meant flies/insects can come in as well. The hotel is also part of a senior living facility but this means that the hotel is very quiet in which we really liked. No loud parties or drunk guests wandering or loitering around specially at night. Compared to other hotels in the area, having an elevator, private bathroom, good water pressure, big sized room with balcony and mountain views, quiet neighborhood, very accessible with a bus stop in front of the hotel and breakfast were good value for your money when a holiday in Switzerland tends to be more expensive. I'd recommend the hotel to my family and friends and will stay here again when I come back to Interlaken.

10 am checkout time is a bit earlier than what I am used to from other hotels I have stayed at.

The hotel is part of a complex for an assisted living facility, designed to accommodate family members during overnight visits. The grounds are spacious and beautiful. Everything is designed to accommodate wheelchairs so there is extra room. You don't feel crowded at all. The breakfast choices were great and well organized. You might be thinking "institutional food" but you'd be wrong. The balcony overlooked a generously size courtyard, where we could hear and see evening traditional dancing. It was air-conditioned. There is a spa and exercise equipment available during specific hours.. they had feather pillows, which we like.

It was a little farther walk to the train stations in Interlaken, but there is a bus stop at the front entrance. We walked past the church and large park and residential area, a nice walk, but there are closer hotels if that matters. They had just one coffee machine for breakfast time, and there was a short line to use it usually. Not horrible, but you were not going to just walk up and choose your coffee. While clean and nice, it didn't have that cozy Swiss feel to the building styling.

The room was really spacious with bottled water provided, a spa room, breakfast and a free transportation voucher. There is also a nice game cum reading room. The stay was very comfortable here in Interlaken and the transport voucher to use the buses was a real bonus.

Clean and spacious room with a full breakfast included. They prepared a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave early since breakfast starts at 7:30 am. The staff called a taxi for us too and explained that Uber doesn’t exist in Interlaken. It was great to see a combination of an independent senior living facility and a hotel with younger people. Wonderful to see the active elderly going for their walks!

1. Earlier reviews showed that there were no toiletries included but there was body wash and hand soap. Maybe, they can add body/hand lotion…. you bring everything else that you prefer. 2. No A/C but there are electronic shutters and you can open the window which helped cool the room. Best to install window screens so bugs don’t come in. 3. It’s a bit of a walk if you have LOTS of luggage from the train station. Take the correct bus or taxi to the hotel if so. Otherwise, it’s about a 10 minute flat walk from Int OST/grocery. 4. I suggest that they post a front view picture of the Hotel— it’s beautiful with the front entrance, garden and dining /reception area. This would make it easier to locate the hotel because it’s in a big compound.

Interesting concept of integration of hotel with seniors community residence with shared dining facility. We didn't use spa etc but room and bathroom were of generous size to presumably allow for easier mobility of a resident or guest. Clean. Nice balcony with garden view. We didn't know there was a sunshade on outer balcony to keep room cooler. It would have been nice to know or to have a fan. Excellent breakfast. Charming place but different from hotel feel. Centrally located, quiet.

A bit difficult to find. Didn’t understand it was adjacent to a retirement community.

The facility, staff, breakfast, and location make up the 10 points I gave this property! We booked the suite, and it didn't disappoint (Oase Room 402). It was the perfect size for two adults and one child. The patio, where we spent relaxing after a long day's excursions, was terrific! The housekeeping staff was always smiling and greeted us always - making us feel at home. The breakfast was perfect - not too extravagant and not too cheap! It was just perfect! The location was to die for - a few minutes away from the center, away from tourists! It's just a 5-minute walk to the train station!

Although this hotel is only rated 3-star, basic amenities such as an iron, ironing board, and a kettle to heat water for tea and coffee to enjoy on the patio were missing inside the room. These items may have been available but were required to be obtained from the front desk.

They promised by email that we could check in early at 2 pm and they met this promise! Super nice cleaning ladies in hall warned us to watch our steps as they had just scrubbed the floor! The room was fantastic & spotless, and had the best bathroom of our entire trip (which included up to 4 star hotels). The balcony & view were awesome! Breakfast was great! Location was ideal, for watching paragliders, & for walking the town & shopping, plus we were able to bus easily (bus stop just by front door) to the Bahnhof. :-)

The room was sparkling clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very nice. The area was calm, sufficiently near the centre but not too closed to be too touristic.

For a stay of one night, check in time is a bit too late (16h00) and check out time is a bit too early (10h00) :(. Normally, it is ok for me but since I'm travelling with my toddler, it would be nice to arrive and have a place to rest a bit before continuing to go on the trip. But I guess it's kinda the common rule in Switzerland.

The staff were very friendly and excellent. The room provided had a balcony and the environs was just a short walk from the main street, and provided a quiet and relaxing space for relaxation with the locals. The breakfast buffet was adequate and offered mostly healthy options such as yoghurt, fruits, and bread. The long term tenants were mostly elderly who were very sweet. Not very touristy at all.

The clothes washer and drier was the standard European size and function.
