Hotel Bodmi

Location was absolutely perfect. Super quiet at night, but only a short 5-10 minute walk into town when needed. And the view was one of the best I've ever seen!

The service was attentive, friendly, and Swiss-superb throughout. The location perfect (a quick walk uphill from city center, close but far enough to be amidst the summer mountain flowers), and the room rustic and very comfortable (our “non-view” family room had jaw dropping balcony views of the Mattenburg and Wetterhorn). The patio was the perfect place for an after hike bier or spritz, and the restaurant (for both dinner and included breakfast) was phenomenal, even our childrens’ requisite schnitzel was special. We love Das Bodmi!

Hotel staff amazing, as any issues they were quick to sort. Our room had 2 sofa beds for the kids which worked out extremely well, & a lovely balcony that we could watch the Gondolas go up & down mountain. Breakfast was incredible & nice to sit outside enjoying it too. Welcome drinks when we arrived, was a nice surprise as not expecting. Carparking easy & safe. Close to bus stop, so you could get this up & down to town if you wanted. (Also free with card that Hotel gives you). Walk was 10 mins downhill, but a lot more back...lol

No fan or air-conditioning, had to leave our door open to try & cool the room down. (was in the heat of summer)

a bit far from the centre of Grindelwald

Location was perfect, in a quiet space that was a short walk from the center of Grindelwald. Staff were extremely friendly, we had a large room with a great view! We did not use the spa facilities, but imagine that would be a great addition to the stay. Breakfast was nice with a lot of various options for different diets. We stayed here the night before a local race, and the hotel started breakfast 1.5 hours earlier to accomodate the racers, which was very nice. Parking was free, rooms were large with plenty of storage space.

The beds could use updating, ours was very soft without much support, and was a bit loud when moving in the night. I assume the nightly price went up due to high demand during the race weekend, would be interesting to see the room prices during a standard seasonal weekend!

Super nice and helpful staff who were more than happy to answer all my stupid questions (shout out to the girl from reception!) Very clean, very cosy, very comfortable, very good food (both, breakfast and lunch) very nice view, so peaceful and quiet It's around 10 minutes walk from a Grindelwald train station so it's not far at all (although with the amount of hotels in Grindelwald area I'd put some sign pointing the the Bodmi hotel) so if you really want to you can go for a dinner to the town and later on enjoy the views and perfect tranquility from the balcony of your room

My only concern was that at some point I just wanted to make some tea but I realized that I only have sugar and no tea. Oh wow, what a tragedy...

Clean. Fantastic location. Wonderful view with the balcony. Very quiet and warm. The breakfast simple but enough and delicious.

The room smelled as someone cooked inside the room and even we’ve opened the window and balcony door the smell wouldn’t go away. The pillows smelled bad as I think the hotel staff washed them and didn’t let them dry before storing them. The bed mattress is soft and may not be comfortable for some people but it was fine for me.

The Hotel Manager Martina was extremely helpful during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for spacious, friendly and scenic view of the mountain and cable car.

The only downfall is the transport as the taxi to this location from the main station they charge 30CHF but you can come by bus Free until 7pm. if you arrive after 7Pm then the option is taxi (if you are with young kids) but sometimes you have to wait for 1 hour. Its not a negative point but families with young kids should plan this well.

Perfect location, great view from the room, nice breakfast, quiet room. Nice size room, good pillows and mattress. Nice hosts. You can reach fast the train station or the cable car station, there are 2 ways down the hill.

A mini fridge in the room would be a plus. For people with mobility problems the walk from the main road in Grindelwald might be a little hard, the walk up the hill is intense. The air ventilation in the bathroom makes a lot of noise, but that can be a plus because you never forget to turn in off.

we absolutely love bodmi! room is spacious with balcony directly facing the eiger. breakfast has a variety of options and an amazing view of mountains and paragliders. staffs are very friendly. sauna place is a bit small but well functional. the location is perfect for us - a quiet and beautiful neighborhood, we so much enjoyed taking walks in the surroundings.

if you arrive at the hotel from the train station / first station, it involves a 5min uphill walk (but a great hiking experience haha)
