Boutique Hotel Belle Epoque

Location in old town was great. Bedroom was clean. Comfy bed. Free safe in room. Staff were quite amenable and helpful.

Bathroom was tired, mouldy sealant around bath and sink. Shower screen on edge of bath was too small so shower flooded bathroom floor. Holes in bathroom door where bath hooks had fallen off. There were no USB charging points in the room. Not Boutique Hotel quality. Very expensive for 1 night stay, I expected more. Probably could find better hotel in same location for the same cost. Breakfast was not included, we paid extra CHF 21 each and got basic continental style breakfast. No air conditioning in room, and the fan provided just blew the hot air around, didnt cool the room, it was very hot.

Very central location, the Bear Park and the Rose Garden are in short walking distance, free public transport throughout our stay with the Bern ticket. Very good breakfast with Swiss cheese, sustainable in terms of not wasting food by presenting an overload. Nice decor with nostalgic touches. Staff is very nice, and we liked the personal touches (suitaces were taken up to our room once it became available, handwritten welcome note in the room).

No AC in the room (which is perhaps owed to the historical location and building restrictions, not the hotel itself), and an electric fan was placed in the room.

The hotel is a part of history in the old town section of the city. it’s no more than a mile walk from just about everything you could want to do in Berne. plenty of eateries just minutes walk from the front door and a nice little cafe in the hotel for breakfast and lunch or a late afternoon snack. The room was pleasantly large and accommodating. in suite bathroom and large closet. Bed was very comfortable. The staff was great and worked hard at helping you with anything you were needing.

The only Negative I believe is not having someone at the front desk 24/7. They have a number to call if something happens or is needed but I believe that for being a 4 Star Hotel there should be that amenity of service 24/7. But that would not preclude me from staying here again.

This hotel’s best feature is the location. It’s smack in the middle of the old town and every attraction is within walking distance. it’s on the main street and all the stores and restaurants are just next door. The vibe is amazing. The room was really cute, spacious and comfortable. Staff was also very pleasant. I would stay here again on my next visit to Bern.

There were some problems with cleaning. The old, used coffee packets had not been removed. Bathroom drain got stuck and wouldn’t drain the water. Housekeeping ended up removing the drain cover altogether. Also, pillows deflated as soon as you put your head down. But these are very minor inconveniences and not deal breakers at all.

The check in was great! We arrived almost 3hours before the check in time and our room was already available! The hostess was very nice and welcomed us with a smile. The room is quite big and the beds are very comfy. The location is great.

Unfortunately there was some mold in the shower. My girlfriend didn’t want to shower because of it. They are talking about renovations but that didn’t change the fact that the shower was dirty.

Very nice room and people, impeccably clean, overall a good experience. Nice cafe out front for coffee and drinks, liked the flammkuchen. Well located in a lovely and less crowded part of the old town near the river, with good connections by bus to station and other areas

Stuffy in warm weather, couldn't figure out the fan or, initially how to control lights. Finally mastered the unfamiliar system Difficult to find spot to plug in electronics but did manage. Might warrant some info provided to guests on the lighting controls.

We loved everything about this property. It was at a great location from the train station (we caught a bus from the train station that dropped us off across the street from the hotel), the staff was extremely friendly (they offered to hold our luggage as we started to visit the town and then put our luggage into our rooms when we returned) and they had an elevator and a fan in our room. Also, there was fresh fruit waiting for us in our room with free bottle water. Very much appreciated.

We have no negative comments about his property.

A charming hotel located in Bern's pictoreque old town. I arrived several hours before official check-in and was given access to my room without having to ask. Water and fresh fruit were waiting for me in the room. The entire hotel is decorated with "Belle Epoque" images, and there are some lovely details to be found, for example the staircase railing. Breakfast was excellent and included homemade apple/pear jam - when I complemented it I was given the recipe. All in all extremely welcoming, very comfortable stay.

The rooms appear not to be air-conditioned - that could be problematic in the summertime. Otherwise absolutely no complaints.

The room was incredibly quiet considering we were so well placed for the centre of the Old Town. Breakfast was exactly what we like - fruit, cereal, croissants - and we did not require anything else.

I believe the reception was closed quite early in the evening, but for us it wasn't a problem as we didn't need anything. Also the paintwork was a little "tired" in places and in need of refreshment.

Amazing and accessible location, 10min using the tram and walking from the central station, right in the historic center. The staff was impeccable. The room was super clean, tidy and spacious.

Because there were happening some Carnival celebrations and there were festivities both in the hotel ground floor and the street I didn't get the best night sleep. Despite this fact I believe it would've been a great night otherwise.
