NH Ciudad de Santander

Lovely and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We had requested a quiet room at the back of the hotel, and were given that. Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice, and the staff would cook something special for you on request.

The hotel wi-fi was poor. It was slow to connect. But it frequently dropped out. The poorest hotel wi-fi I have experienced in many years. The TV carried many channels in several languages, but not one English channel - I would have expected Sky News or BBC World. The noise of chairs etc being dragged across the rooms above and around you. (I appreciate this is a common issue when hotels have tiled floors, unlike in the UK where we have carpets to absorb such noises.)

Lovely staff at reception, they took into account that I was traveling with a senior person who needed a shower without bathtub. Dogs are allowed and even included a little bed and plates in the room. Parking was available, everything was clean and modern.

The hotel is in an excellent location with easy access to the old town, shopping area and seafront. Breakfast was a very good and wide choice of cold food plus hot food cooked to order. Rooms were clean, comfortable and large enough for two guests plus our dog who was provided with her own bed plus feeding bowls. Staff were friendly and efficient and checking in was easy. There was off street parking available (paid for) which we found helpful. If I stayed in Santander again, this hotel would be my first choice. Recommended.

It would have been good if the bar had been open but Covid restrictions influenced its closure I believe. At other time I would have found nothing wrong with this hotel.

We didn't get to spend too much time in Santander, but the location was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly friendly, helpful and accomodating. While the rooms weren't particularly large, they were very clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel almost based on the staff alone, and would certainly stay here again.

Having stayed in several NH hotels this was one of their better quality hotels. There is an on site guest car park. The room was comfortable and there was a generous selection of choices at breakfast. The hotel is well located for the seafront and Santander city centre. It is also very close to the Brittany Ferries port. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We have nothing nothing negative to say about the hotel.

Great city centre location with either above ground or underground parking. Excellent room that was spacious and comfortable. Our room had a view over the car park, but perhaps quieter than those at the front of the property?

Additional charge of EUR25 made for pet. Why? Also, the rules governing our dogs stay were onerous. They stated that the dog could not be left unattended. That would have meant not being able to eat with my partner. Agreed a workaround but think all of this should have been communicated in advance when booking

The location was perfect, right in the centre, and the room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There is no bar or restaurant, which is standard for the NH brand. However given its location next to an abundance of restaurants, cafes and bars, this was not a problem.

The location was perfect for a weekend stay in santander. The hotel was lovely and clean. Nice breakfast and loddy. Staff were lovely throughout my stay and always willing to give advice on the city. Would definitely come and stay again.

Nothing I didn't like

A lovely modern room, with the balcony on a quiet floor. The car parking and location was important being central to everything within walking distance. A fab hotel great for a one night stop over ahead of our ferry crossing to UK. Also brilliant the hotel is dog friendly (we didn't use the dog bed provided).

The hotel was clean and the staff pleasant, The room was small but adequate and the breakfast provided used good quality ingredients.

The parking was tight, but it was secure. Being right in the town centre up a steep hill was unexpected and difficult for me as I have walking difficulties.
