Hotel Escuela Santa Cruz

We stayed here while travelling around the island for hiking. The room had the perfect size and we particularly liked the large bathroom with bidet, shower and bathtub, where we could quickly rinse our clothes. Everything we could need in town was at walking distance: grocery shopping, the city center with loads of restaurants, the public pool and even a couple of places for COVID-testing. I particularly liked being 10-15 minutes away from the bus interchange station (that made the travel from/to the airport very easy). The hotel restaurant offered amazing food and very good local wine.

This is more of a "business" hotel, so not the best choice if you are looking for facilities to spend your time in the hotel during the day. The 2 outside pools are very small: perfect place to sit on the lounge and read a book, but not much for swimming.

I slept better than my bed in this place. Seriously. Their pure cotton duvet is exceptional and I will change my own after experiencing how good it is. Their bathtub + shower combined bathroom felt spacious and served well for relaxation as well as a quick shower. The outdoor dining area had a spacious view of the area.

It's not the hotel itself but the location. If you don't drive and you want to explore the town, the hotel is approx 20 mins of down or uphill walk away from the majority of attractions.

Everything is as nice or nicer than the photos. This is a large spacious, beautifully architected hotel. My room was a quiet harmonious oasis, with super comfortable beds, great air conditioning, a huge tub and separate shower. Wonderful helpful staff. The breakfast is lovely with options for everyone. All of the public spaces are beautiful and thoughtfully designed and decorated. Even the parking garage is pretty with wall art.

I’d say the only down side was it was a 20 minute walk to my activities, but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault:)

This is an oasis of tranquility and a gem of great architecture and design at the end of the last century that still looks cutting edge modern. Very comfortable rooms, good catering and a nice terrace for wining and dining make this a great place to stay.

No working English-speaking TV channels, can live with that. No black-out curtains, will be a problem as daylight gets longer. Both should be easy to fix.

Very friendly staff. Good restaurant on the ground floor, we had very nice brunch and dinner on the terrace. Room was big and clean. Location quite central, we could walk to many good restaurants in the evening by foot in around 15 minutes. Small free parking next to the entrance, during one week stay only once we had to find a place on the street 3 minutes away because it was full. Receptionist extremely politely agreed for a later check out than standard even tough they were fully booked.

Only 2 small things, but might be important for some people: double bed was actually 2 mattresses put together not one big... And our room didn't have the view to the seaside.

The location was very handy for Santa Cruz, and the rooms were very roomy. The breakfast terrace with a view of the sea and a cool bath for your feet was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The pool is small and in any case was not in use when I was there which was a shame. The breakfasts are not particularly inspiring, though the coffee was good

Location perfect, right between shopping areas during the day and sightseeing and restaurants in the evening. Fantastic, friendly, helpful staff. Large comfy rooms, parking right outside the hotel (we were touring on a motorbike).

Disappointed our room had no view although to be honest we booked last minute and got a great deal on the price. Also for a 4* hotel I expected tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Absolutely a very nice room. Bed was excellent. Allthough the hotel is not from the newest date, is has style ! Bathroom facilities was excellent. Plenty of closetspace. Also a big positive impression of the breakfast. Very recommendable.

The room was a little dark, but it was because it is situating in a corner. The hotel may have plenty other rooms, where the light comes fully in.

Quiet & convenient location, nice size rooms and staff are very friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Juan Miguel on reception for his efficient help also.

Breakfast is not as good as before. Not enough choice of fruit, nuts, grains etc and yoghurt was poor quality.

Lovely clean n spacious hotel, breakfast is fab, lots of variety, staff are very helpful

Coffee machine at breakfast very very slow and not always dispensing correct drink, i.e cappuccino is more like a hot chocolate.
