Art Boutique Hotel Chamarel

What was not to love!? The beautiful courtyard out the back with the yellow bellied turtles and bags of character. The addition of live music on one of the nights which accompanied my getting ready beautifully. The bed was comfortable, the room was cool and well laid out with a good sized wardrobe and lovely tiled bathroom. The staff were probably the highlight however, I am known to stay out a little late sometimes and the reception staff would greet you with a smile… no matter how ungodly the hour (Sorry!!). The team couldn’t do enough to ensure a perfect stay and I will no doubt return to this hotel on my next visit to the area.

Nothing. Nothing at all!

The apartment was gorgeous, perfect for a few days with everything we could need. Beautifully furnished. Lovely little courtyard and we lit the log burner on chilly evenings. It was just off Loretta which has plenty of little Spanish bars and restaurants and within a few minutes walk of the castle, marina and beach. Breakfast at the hotel was in a beautiful setting as was coffee on the courtyard.

Would have liked to have coffee, tea, milk and a basic selection of breakfast items rather than walk to the hotel. We did go and buy some but perhaps could be supplied? And would have appreciated the apartment being cleaned/made up and fresh towels etc even every other day. But really these are minor things.

We booked this stay at the last minute and since the hotel was booked, we got the "apartment" which is actually a little house about a 7-minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast is included but one has to walk over to the hotel. The apartment has its own entrance, with an open bedroom upstairs. If mobility is an issue, the upstairs bedroom could be a challenge, especially with the bathroom downstairs. Kitchen included a microwave and water kettle. The apartment is furnished with a contemporary look, is extremely spacious, includes a small patio, and is very clean!

It would be nice to include a coffee maker as well as a water kettle and microwave in the kitchen. We also had to leave a light on downstairs in order to see the stairwell to get to the bathroom. The stairwell is wide and sturdy but lacks a handrail at the bottom part. A handrail all around the stairs would be beneficial.

Chamarel is a true gem which we don't want to share with others, we want to keep the secret for the best hotel in Denia and the surroundings! It is made like an old luxury Moroccan mension with an amazing inner courtyard where you can drink coffee and coctails from early morning to late evening, or just read a book and feel like in Agatha Christys novel. The whole decorations of the hotel is very stylish, reflecting retro romantic, mixing athmosphere of an old English mansion and arabic palace. The rooms are with huge sailings, very bright, clean and comfortable. Our pet was very welcome and there was not a problem to stay in the room while we were out. The hotel is situated on a pedestrian street, very close to the heart of the city with lots of restaurants and cafes just on the neibhouring streets. It is also a 10-15 min pleasant walk to the harbor. Hotel provides a paid parking 2 minutes away of the building - it is not very convenient when you have lots of luggage as you have to bring it to the hotel by foot. But the parking is secured. The staff is very polite and helpful always. We had an amazing time in this true gem hotel and are impatient to return again!

beautiful hotel with a wonderful old world feel and atmosphere. A beautiful courtyard, great location in the old town and very close to nice restaurants etc It was very serene and relaxing, and the room was both quiet and dark

no shower curtain meant the bathroom got very wet Breakfast was limited with only a croissant and bread, jam, orange juice and 1 coffee. Parking was a little confusing as no instructions so you arrive at garage door from Sat Nav instructions and have to go to the hotel on a pedestrianised street to get the door fob. Once you knew what to do it was super easy

This is hotel has beautiful public areas and stylish & very comfotable rooms. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are large and clean and clearly a lot of effort has been made in decorating them to create a great ambience. Staff were charming and helpful, and the simple breakfast was filling and of good quality. The location is excellent, being very close to lots of bars and restaurants, but it still remains in a quiet road. It is also only a short walk to the beach. We recommend this hotel very highly.

The only minor issue is the absence of a car park, which is a common problem in Denia. There are however public car parks close by.

The location of this hotel was second to none. Perfectly located for the best eating street Loret, a minute walk from main shops which were open until late with wonderful eating and drinking establishments offering food to suiit everyone's taste. The hotel itself was like stepping back in time, a custodial feel, excellent decor, and so many artefacts around the hotel. The garden was botanical and a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast, or a leisurely drink before bed. Staff were very helpful, and the rooms were stylish and SO comfortable. I have no doubt I shall be returning to Denia, and to Chamarel art Boutique Hotel.

The only thing I could possibly write here is that there were no lifts. But with the wide staircases, and the unusual artwork on the walls of the landings, it was a pleasure to climb the stairs!

The hotel, rooms, and especially the staff are excellent, so comfortable. Everyone was so welcoming, the best hotel staff I have ever come across anywhere in the world. The fresh orange juice and superb coff just added to a wonderful experience. I spent most of my life working in travel, starting in 1978, I have travelled extensively and this hotel is up there with my favourites. Location is fantastic, everything is so close, the local restaurants are amazing.

Absolutely nothing I didn't like, apart from leaving.

The Suite was a real treat , Large spacious room with air con , very quiet at all times. a large bath and full shower in bathroom. this hotel is a timeless authentic Spanish experience. real charm and character, the staff are so helpful and friendly . a true Boutique hotel . only thing missing was UK tv channels. a must for a central location to shops, bars and restaurants. beach is 15min walk , there is sun-beds and a beach chiringuito next to the water sports area. everything was better than expected.

It was charming peaceful hotel, in the heart of the old town with lovely courtyard where you could sit and read. The furnishings were elegant and quirky. Room I had was spacious although it was located off reception this did not bother me.

Not much really ...you would have to be happy with eating your breakfast around the reception room, continental style but lovely to interact with fellow guests in this way as was small and intimate.
