The Maslow Hotel, Sandton

An amazing stay at The Maslow! Seamless check-in and out, delightful breakfasts, and efficient in-room dining made for a truly enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly, and I highly recommend it. Don't miss out on the incredible Old Fashioned at Lacuna Bar – a must-try for whiskey lovers in JHB.

I was surprised when asked about housekeeping cleaning my room, which isn't a major issue, just not something I've encountered at hotels before. I was in the middle of a nap when the manager passed by, so pretty disorientating for me, but I could have easily placed the DND sign on the door as well. It's not a deal-breaker, just an uncommon experience for me.

The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and breakfast top notch loved their coffee, cappuccino to be precise, that is made by the barrister behind the counter, not the one from the machine. The dinner menu is huge; there's something for everyone, including the kids' menu. The staff were very kind and accommodating, including their barman.

Found my room unlocked on return from a day's outing, and the safe not taking my password as if it has been tampered with! when I informed the receptionist manager tried to lecture me abt how their door worked and how the cleaner must have left the door partially open and she went on to lecture me on how to operate a safe that I have been using the whole time, 1st they blamed a nail clipper that we had stored in the safe with other items, then it was the way I was opening the safe then it was maybe the batteries needed changing! all of this time was wasted while I had guests waiting for me to have dinner downstairs.

The room was clean, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. It felt like home and the lady at the front desk, Nondumiso was very helpful and meticulous in her work. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a comfortable and peaceful stay in Johannesburg.

I had an emergency in the morning. I called the restaurant and requested that they pack my order as time was not on my side. To my dismay I was told that I should have made an arrangement the previous night and there was nothing they could do for me. Perhaps more agility/flexibility on their restaurant staff could have gone a long was in assisting a client in need.

The concierge was super friendly and gave us a complimentary upgrade to a room that really exceeded our expectations. The space was clean and the Knots was super helpful and friendly. The housekeeping team was also exceptionally friendly and helpful, they even offered to close our curtains and open the bed at night time. Next level service.

The fact that you cannot vape non-nicotine devices outside on the balcony isa bit off putting as you have to go all the way down and outside. If you're enjoying drinks and not keen on company or want to lounge in your jammies and vape unfortunately The Maslow is not the place for you, but if you are okay to dress up everytime to have a puff then its perfect. The food and drinks are also totally over priced, we paid R470 for a bottle of Graham Beck Rose.

Breakfast spread was good. Unexpectedly, tge fresh fruits offered like oranges, pears etc were excellent and of top quality.

Our stay was twice within 6 days: 12-15 Oct and 17-18 Oct. 1st stay at room 418. The shower cubicle a little small. Bed was only Queen-sized as opposed to King-sized as requested. 2nd stay at room 134. Shower cubicle was big enough. Bed was only Queen-sized. Other than these everything was very good.

I liked how clean my room was and how consistently friendly your staff was and the shuttle :)

On my 3rd day, my room was not cleaned to the same standard as it had been the previous 2 days. A guest brought in a prostitute and a fight between them ended up happening. That was unsettling. I was thankful for the hotel security that escorted me safely downstairs. I didn’t like that on booking my card details were taken. I thought they would be used to pay for the room. Upon arrival, I still needed to swipe which I was unprepared for. It would have been helpful to know that in advance.

On check-in, was told to proceed to our room, without any indication where elevators were or any assistance with luggage. On booking, tried twice via concierge email to obtain the details of the Gautrain shuttle with no response. I eventually phoned and was politely helped. It runs every half hour, stopping for the night after last Gautrain. In the unfortunate case that the hotel generator fails during loadshedding, lighting and sanitizer should be provided in the communal bathrooms.

I like everything but I didn’t like your service of Booking.com you guys are really cheating your customers.

Everything but I didn’t like your service of Booking.com We have suffered a lot since airport to the Hotel waisted our 1st day due to poor service from Booking.com and we have decided not to continue any kind of booking through your website until unless you pay me compensation. Amazing for the price. Very modern clean rooms. The staff were all so friendly. Food was amazing even the 24 hour room service.

While being on holiday you do not want to think about not being able to smoke outside. There was very limited smoking areas outside which meant you cant have a drink outside and smoke or he by the pool and relax with food drinks and smoke

the check in was more that perfect... The Front desk lady that checked us in from Cape Town was so professional that we ended up booking at the Spa that she had recommended for my partners birthday. SEIPATI the young lady that served and looked after our needs at the restaurant was a cherry on top as she went out of her way to make our stay memorable. Because of both of these departments we will consider to add Maslow Hotel as one of the good hotels we have stayed at.

I did not like the mannerism of the lady Asher at the breakfast was very rude to guests at the hotel... she needs to be reprimanded as well as she needs to be trained on customer relations. We as guests to the hotel not an irritation to them. The brand Maslow can never be dragged down by uncouth employees who feel that they will be rude to paying customers. This was very unpalatable to my partner and I. Other than this all was perfect....
